Will my bag get sent to a naughty room?
WorkerBee74 replied to GORDONCHICK's topic in Celebrity Cruises
This fan is the absolute MVP. It's incredibly powerful, compact... I love the thing. Taken it all over on all my travels - I MUST have a fan when I sleep and I absolutely love this one. It easily lasts two full nights on low, but would definitely last one on high. https://www.opolar.com/collections/battery-fan/products/opolar-mini-handheld-battery-operated-personal-fan -
Sounds more like an internet nightmare than an ArriveCAN nightmare...

GAG. She can KEEP her 'candles'. If you know, you know.

We're packing self-tests with us for our European cruise in October, but the whole thing is laughable. They say you can also 'bring the actual test'. Has anyone ever looked at a RAT test a few days later? The lines run into each other and you can't even tell what's what... we'll be taking a pic with the result on the day, and we'll have the actual tests with us, but it's so dumb.

LOL yep, same thing with me. Our spa treatments don't show, but all of our dining reservations and excursions DO show. Why /everything/ doesn't show is beyond me...

Booking a new cruise on a current cruise - worth it?
WorkerBee74 posted a topic in Celebrity Cruises
I'm currently looking at the May 2023 itineraries with overnights in Bermuda/Charleston out of New York. We're doing our very first Celebrity cruise in October of this year (Mediterranean) and I'm already looking at another.... haha! Do people recommend booking while on a cruise? Do you think we'll get a good deal doing so? Any tips? Right now I'm looking at an Oceanview sitting around $4500 CDN for a 10 day cruise which looks like a good deal, should I reference that and see if they can beat it? -
Absolutely classic!

If you don't leave Canada between ports (as in you don't clear another country's customs), you'd be considered already cleared to enter Canada and thus not have to do customs again. I don't mean being in international waters. Depending on the Alaska itinerary, it's possible to leave from Canada (ie leaving from Vancouver - would have used ArriveCAN/cleared Canadian customs to enter if you're American), cruise to Alaska, cruise to ANOTHER Canadian port (say, Victoria) - in which case you WOULD have to do the ArriveCAN/Canadian customs dance a second time, and then end either there, or back to the US (Seattle etc). Every time you enter Canada for the FIRST time after being in another country (like the US), you have to do the customs thing. Trust me, this happened to us in 2019 as we bounced between countries on a New England/Atlantic Canada itinerary and had to clear US customs twice - it was not fun. As well to the OP @5:00_Somewhere, think of ArriveCAN as just another Canadian customs thing... it's just part of entry to Canada now for everyone, whether you're foreign or Canadian - has nothing to do with cruising in particular. Whenever you have to clear customs, you have to do ArriveCAN. If you leave Canada to another country (ie the US) and then RE-enter, you're clearing customs again as far as Canada is concerned.

The OP is from Arizona. Before you jump to conclusions.

They've changed it to a non-supervised self-declared option if you are vaccinated as of Sept 5... I've got both types and I'll be packing both! You never know what's going to happen between now and the fall... https://www.celebritycruises.com/ca/healthy-at-sea/amsterdam-travel-requirements/updated

AH! I misread UK as US. Either way everything seems to be changing so quickly... I'm STILL going to be packing a proctored/supervised test kit with me to travel to Europe in October with a backup self-test - knowing we are fully vaxxed (2+ booster so far and will get the 4th when we can) I'll be ready for anything 😛
-
Per this, vax status no longer matters as of Sept 5, 2022 if you're departing from UK/Europe excepting Iceland... which is why you don't have to upload vax cards anymore. https://www.celebritycruises.com/ca/health-and-safety

When it all comes down to it, this seems more like Americans who are used to blasting A/C 24-7 expecting other countries to follow suit. Hate to tell you but A/C is a LUXURY in most of Europe, not a given.

And, Vancouver is still in Canada. I swear some Americans don't understand that judging by the comments on that RC thread... 😆
