Except for the odd day here and there we haven’t had any time off since our Feb cruise. We finally got a few days to get away. I’m working up in Oregon and the heat was supposed to get up to triple digits this weekend so that gave us good excuse to leave the fifth wheel behind and head to the coast we’re spending the weekend in Lincoln City. It gorgeous and nice and cool. Mid 70’s apx. Here’s a few pics from our stay here so far this weekend. This is from our balcony at our hotel This is my view this morning while having my morning coffee. And here are a few pics of the nice room we got. We’re staying at the Starfish Manor. So far it has been a great stay. I’d highly recommend them if you're looking for a quiet child free environment.

It is possible to do two things at once... Trying to attract a younger demographic while at the same time continuing to service their existing client base is not an impossible task. Thankfully Royal has more than one ship. If Utopia is not for you... Radiance or Vision might be perfect.

Yes there was a b2b lunch in the MDR. The menu looked like an exact copy of the The Key lunch we had on embarkation on Adventure a couple of months later. It was very good. I had good steak and it was nice and quiet and relaxing.

I generally check on the website for this kind of stuff first and then if it's in range I'll email my TA.

In all the hype over RoyalUp don't forget to check your prices for upgrading directly from time to time. I just upgraded my 4D balcony to an aft facing Jr. Suite for a net of $63. It was $263 more but came with $200 OBC so that's a win for me. 🙂

I've got a couple Navigators booked for 2025 but nothing from the 25/26 deployment. And nothing on Quantum. I was really hoping for something new with this deployment. I'd have taken nearly anything. This is sad.

I don't think I was in the windjammer more than a couple times over the whole two weeks.

We went to Solarium Bistro on Harmony on embarkation days. We did a B2B in Dec and both embarkation days it was very uncrowded. It was a much better experience than the Windjammer.

I'm booking the UDP more and more these days. The upgrade in the quality of food and service just make for a more enjoyable cruise. While I didn't do it every cruise, on the next 5 I have it booked 3 times.

That was my fear too... While DW loved our CLS she is thriftier than I am so she always wants the most frugal way to do things. As long as I throw the odd suite experience into the mix she's happy with balcony cabins. 😓

There is no hassle cancelling and repurchasing... The refunds have been showing back up on the credit card in about 4 days so depending on CC cutoff date you won't even notice the extra on your statement. 72.99 is an OK price. If I was intending to get it I pay that price and hope for better. The absolute best price I've seen lately is 69.99 so you are pretty close to that.

There is only one thing to book pre cruise on Odyssey. That is the show "The Book" in 270. All other shows are first come first served. There are other things to book once you are on board but can only be book once on board. iFly, Northstar and Zone Zero become bookable on the app once you are onboard and hooked up to Royal's internal intranet. If you use a VPN turn it off or else the app acts like you are not on the ship. As was previously mentioned the Flowrider is just lined up for. Sea days will be busy most of the day. If you go to the earliest sessions you will have the shortest lines. I've also found late times... apx. 4:30 - 5:30 to be pretty quiet as well. Enjoy your cruise... Odyssey is a great ship.

Oh yeah it is not cheap... This cruise is going to turn out a lot cheaper since no flights involved and no pre cruise hotel but not near as interesting or unique. However, I'll be on cruise ship so it is not something to complain about.

I had to cancel my cruise on Liberty doing the Canada/NE cruise because the folks we were going with had some health issues and one of them couldn't fly so we changed over to Navigator so they would be able to drive in and still travel with us. I'm pretty gutted about not getting to NYC. That is a bit of a bucket list item for me. I have booked it again for 2025 now but just Sharron and I so I don't have to depend on other people to make it work. I knew you were on the Navigator one on the 18th and I actually looked at changing to that one but my schedule just wasn't changeable for that month. Sitting with you in the Schooner and being school on Whiskey/Bourbon/Scotch would have been a treat 🙂
