  1. That's a my assessment too. I've got two coming up to Cococay this year still and one to Labadee. I'm gutted that I'm not likely going to be able to get to Labadee. Don't get me wrong Cococay is great and think there is so much to see and do there that isn't at Labadee but there was just such a peaceful vibe at Labadee. You are right though about the lunch offerings at Labadee. That would be my only criticism.
  2. Breaks my heart... We have had such great folks taking care of us when at Labadee. Our cabana attendants tripped over themselves to make sure we had a good time. My thoughts and prayer are with these unfortunate folks.
  3. Thanks for this... This will be our situation late this year. We board Icon Nov 30 and then get on Oasis Dec 8. We turn D+ while on Icon.
  4. I have gone back and forth with which is my favorite. Initially I preferred Chops but on the last few cruises I have actually enjoyed Giovanni's/Jamies more. If you want a steak Giovanni's was just as good as what I got at Chops.
  5. Specialty dining is not hard to book regardless of what cabin you are in. Simply board the ship and go to the first specialty restaurant you see and make all your requests then. I have never had any challenge getting the restaurants I want on the days I want. I don't think I've ever even needed to be more than 30 minutes flexible in my requested time and that was for Hibachi which has is has the fewest seats on the ship. This has been true with with both the UDP and a 3Day dining option. I'm not sure why you think you need "an upper class cabin"
  6. If you want to avoid the 5% surcharge when using your sea pass card go to a slot machine and charge up to $500 to your room. You can immediately cash out and take the ticket to the cashier and they will give $500 cash to use at the tables. You can only do this once on a cruise and only up to $500.
  7. The fruit plate arrived around 10 am... I never asked about delivering anything other than drinks so I don't know about that. At lunch I walked down to El Loco Fresh for some Nachos and brought them up to my Casita. I needed to move a little anyways if for no other reason then check my sobriety before heading over to the waterslide and Flowrider. 🙂
  8. I made my reservation online pre-cruise. You don't select your casita until you get onboard. I went asked for a specific one on day one... I had it reserved for day 4. YMMV
  9. I did it on Navigator on a port day last year in August. I throughly enjoyed the experience. There wasn't anything that I wanted to do in Ensenada since ive been a few times already. This made far a great day onboard the ship. Yes the ship was half empty and I could have found many loungers available but for me this was a great way upgrade a quiet ship day. For a start the casita is far more comfortable for that pool loungers. They started out with a nice fruit plate first thing in the morning. We had drink service all day with a call button attached right in the casita. They also reserved the two pool loungers directly beside us for our exclusive use so all four us had seating as we came and went all day long. I intend to do again on future cruises where a port day becomes a ship day for me. At $90 I consider it money well spent.
  10. In the past as well as most future cruises we book the beach beds. However, for our upcoming Oasis cruise we have Hideaway booked. Since this cruise is a S2S with Icon and we were going to CC the previous week and we had a beach bed for that I thought would switch it up and try something different. I am a little concerned that it will be to much of a party vibe for DW and I but since I got it for $30 pp on the Black Friday sale last year I figured if I hate it I can just leave and head back to the ship and enjoy and empty ship without suffering much of a loss.
  11. What status were you on Royal and what did that transfer to on MSC? What would consider the best of the "generous list of perks and discount"?
  12. We were at Best Buy yesterday getting DW a new iPad... This was the first time she has gotten a new one. She usually just ends up with my hand me downs. I felt a little guilty about that so when she mentioned that hers wasn't charging right I took it as a sign 🙂.
  13. I remember you do a lot of work with the HS football team. How does the team look this year? If remember right... last year was a pretty successful year.
  14. My daughter also has to be GF and she was inpressed with the selctions in the WJ...
  15. It would take a tremendous amount of booze to make the DBP work when you have access to the suite lounge and 4 diamond drinks. I'd just pay as you go at that point.
  16. I imagine arriving at 11:30 - 12:00 the line will have died off by then. You should be golden.
  17. Nobody is saying they should be allowed we are saying we have not been asked for proof embarkation time. Each time I had an early boarding time so it didn't matter to me... I was simply answering the question the OP asked. Where have read on this thread anyone says they should be allowed to board whenever they want?
  18. I wondered about that too. Navigator appears on the schedule through April 2026 and indications from World All indications I have seen are that she continues through the 26/27 season along with Quantum.
  19. Ditto for us. Three times in the last year and a half and never was checked for embarkation times. Once we were in a suite so it wouldn't have mattered but the other times we were in regular cabins.
  20. Thanks for the review... I'm glad all is still well on Navigator. We've been on her several times in the last year and a half and have her booked four more times over the next 7 months. She's kind of become my "home ship". We have loved Oasis class ships as well as other classes sailing to the Caribbean but not having to fly to board a cruise is just such a treat. We've always had good luck in the MDR on Navigator. I've also found bar service to be exceptional. I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise. 🙂
  21. Don't worry about calling and just head to a specialty restaurant as soon as you board the ship. They can book all three for whatever time and day you desire. Doing early assures you get the days you want and close to the times you want. The reservation you saw in the cruise planner was just a place holder anyways and you would likely need to have done it this way anyways.
