  1. This was what I was thinking. I have no doubt about the veracity of the OP's story. I'm sure they called but what is important is what was asked of the Rep.
  2. That was exactly our situation with Basil. We went to the shelter and saw one that my wife really liked but we weren't ready to make a decision. We filled out the forms to get approved for adoption and waited for them to call us. When we went back in a couple of days the one that my wife really liked, while still there, was spoken for. We chose Basil. He was this funny looking gangly little thing that pranced around, almost saying, "look at me, look at me". I was smitten. It's been six months but I miss my little buddy still.
  3. Apparently I must have been doing it wrong. I had a diabetic cat about 20 years ago and would have to give him twice daily shots. It was a production every single day.
  4. Ours was family friendly but not politically correct.
  5. Good assessment. We have done Alaska twice in the last two years. Once on Serenade in 2021 (sister to Brilliance) and once on Ovation in 2022. We loved both trips but they definitely different cruises. We'd gladly do either again. The highlight of an Alaskan cruise is always Alaska. The other stuff is just extra in my opinion. If I was going to the W. Caribbean I'd want Voyager class or bigger.
  6. The ice show was the highlight for me. They had a very funny comedian in the theatre one night also. I loved him but not everyone did. I saw a few folks walk out.
  7. I have had this happen lots! But I'm a good tipper so that might account for it.
  8. I'm not completely sure but they have weight restrictions and don't let anyone ride single. The story I heard was that there were a few injuries when they first rolled it out and had to make some modifications to it. I don't know what those modification were.
  9. There are people who go off menu most nights and order the Indian. My wife is one of them. They've just started adding it to the menu is all it would appear.
  10. I tried Ken's suggestion to sign out and sign back but as an iPhone user I had no joy. Here is the iPhone hack I figured out. I signed out and then fully shut app off (swipe up from the bottom to display the cascade of apps open and then swipe the Royal app off). I waited five minutes, then signed back in. All my cruises were back on my list, including cruises that aren't me but I am linked to. I don't know that waiting five minutes made any difference, I'm pretty sure it didn't, but included it because that is what I did. I hope this helps. YMMV. 🙂
  11. Black Friday sales typically start on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. That'll be the 23rd.
  12. It is sketchy but in all reality the KSF is about the only real sale they have. The one time we sailed with our Granddaughter we save significantly because she was under 12. Had she been older we would have paid more.
  13. If you want to see the real discount for the kids sail free program do not compare fares between 2 adults vs 2 adults and 2 kids. Compare 4 adults vs. 2 adults and 2 kids and you will see there is a good savings between those two. It has to do with what different categories cabins actually cost as @firefly333 said.
  14. Wow! that's a lot to take in. I need to do more reading. I really liked that Old Fashioned I went back to it over and over again on Ovation. So if I understand you correctly Bourbon is Whiskey but Whiskey isn't necessarily Bourbon. Would that then mean that Bourbon is better than Whiskey and that I should avoid American Whiskey not considered Bourbon? I'm going to do my best to experiment. I had a friend years ago that wouldn't drink anything but Bushmills Irish Whiskey. You mentioned Irish Whiskey but made no comment. Also, what is the difference between single malt and blended.
  15. @Sea Dog & @bobmacliberty, I need advise. I am not traditionally Bourbon drinker I'm usually a vodka drinker but I greatly appreciated your getting me started on those Buffalo Trace Old fashioned. I actually credited @Sea Dog during my live review but going through my "live" on Ovation I realize it was @bobmacliberty who originally suggested it. Belated props to Bob. I know both of you experts in the field of Whiskey/Bourbon/Scotch so would like your help. I'm not even sure I can distinguish what the difference is between the three. I will be on Norwegians Pride of America and will have the drink package. What would recommend that I experiment with to get a feel for the genre.
  16. Thanks, We're sailing Nov 26th. I'll probably just order their water from the gift list. thanks all for the help
  17. So I just should dug a little bit deeper. Apparently, alkaline water is available from NCL. Does anyone know if this is the water they provide as part of the drink package or is this special just when preordered?
  18. Well this sucks... DW needs to drink Alkaline water for digestive reasons. We are boarding POA in just under two weeks and we planned on brining a six pack with us. We're regular Royal Caribbean cruisers and just assumed this is ok. She needs just one a day. Would they stock any alkaline water onboard that she could order?
  19. We've enjoyed the beach every time we have been in December both in Costa Maya and Cozumel.
  20. I've been on Liberty twice and loved her both times. It is not a Quantum or Oasis class ship so doesn't have quite the same entertainment options but it does have a musical (Saturday Night Fever) and it has an ice rink (Quantum class doesn't) so you get an ice show just like you would on Oasis class. What it doesn't have that is most noticeable is the Music Hall which is a great venue they book great music acts in. I'm not a pool guy so I rarely hang out there and can't help there but I loved the two person water slide. It as a hoot and they also have a Flowrider. The WJ and MDR food is as good as any other class of ship.
  21. Both DW and I went to SFU. I had a buddy who went to UBC. The beauty of Vancouver is you can be in the mountains or the ocean, no matter where you start from, less than 25 minutes. Also with me as a skier, the area can't be beat. There is three local ski hills in the North Shore mountains, another just to east in the Cascades, and its close proximity to Whistler Blackcomb, the greatest ski resort in all of North America, made it the most incredible area in the world to grow up in. No matter where I live, I'll always be a Vancouver kid.
