Love Royal but they need to fix the disembarkation
Tree_skier replied to pfm18's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I had said I wouldn't get it again after the one time I got it back in 2019 when the program first started. I just didn't feel there was value in it. But I've got it for our Adventure cruise in Feb. It has showed up on the cruise planner at various times for 20.99. Since that is only about $5 more than I'd pay for the internet I decided to give it a try again. One thing I'm looking forward to is not lugging my CPAP around until the rooms are open. The other is the late breakfast. If it gets me premium seating at the ice show and a little extra time on the flowrider all the better. -
Specialty coffee card on Liberty of the Seas

We got them for my teenage grand daughters on the last cruise on Navigator and they didn't find them particularly valuable. LIke biker said... you need to know how many punches they are taking for your particular drink to know what kind of value you are getting. GD#1 her drink was two punches per order so she only really saved 50¢ per drink. I asked the girls about getting them again for our upcoming Harmony cruise and they both said to give them $30 in Starbucks credit. They have more selection and less line. -
Playmakers: Are kids allowed?

They are supposed to be. Enforcement is the challenge. -
They are called "Music Venture" can't find much info about them online.

Day Beds for a fee on the pool deck

Yes, go up around the mini golf course and look for the wicker clam shells. They are under utilized and quite nice for a mid morning nap 🙂 -
Paying cruise bill with cash?
Tree_skier replied to 5xGrandma's topic in Royal Caribbean International
You don’t need to put cash down in advance. They will extend $500 of “credit” without a credit card on the account. You can then pay it down with cash once onboard. -
I've been searching on the cruise planner for a way to modify a reservation I have booked and can't seem to find it. I booked it for Day 2 and would like to change to day 4. I don't want to cancel and rebook since they had a sale price quite some time back that has never been repeated and I don't want to lose that deal. Before getting on the phone and waiting on hold, is this something C&A could do or should I call the order takers at the phone number on the cruise planner? I'm just concerned that an inexperienced agent will screw it up and I'll end up losing this good deal.

Yeah, that is A-Grove band... They cover everything from Shania Twain to Bruno Mars. They are more of a house band rather than a true cover band. They're very good though...

Yeah that is one of the ones that I noticed "The DSB Band" were on Ovation when I was on here in 2022. I really enjoyed them. They put on a good show. Yes they are a house band. Cover band implies a specific group is being covered. The two you had on Oasis would have made for great back to back entertainment. Historically the cover bands play two weeks stints, getting different bands on a B2B would be good fortune.

I see where is says "Guests purchasing and consuming alcohol must be of legal age..." but that doesn't preclude the statement on the website. It lists the venue and lists the age to access the venue. The statement on the app referring to drinking age doesn't preclude the requirement to be a certain age. The problem is Royal's typically ambiguous language leaves everyone not sure what the rule is so staff do nothing at all.

My experience with the 3 night package is the courtesy reservation isn't a real reservation it is just a placeholder. When you board go straight to a specialty restaurant and get it sorted. Also, you may want to confirm your bogo at that time since reports indicate some ships are holding the line on using it day 1 and 2.

I know on Navigator in The Bamboo Room it is supposed to be age restricted according to the website. However, there is no sign on as you enter that indicates that and there is no enforcement of it by staff that I have seen. The website indicates the same thing for the Schooner and R-Bar as well. 'm ok with underage being in their as long as it is reasonable. ie a teenager sitting with family etc. Popping your carrier thingy with your infant in it while you down shots isn't reasonable in my book.

We only stayed 4 days. That wasn't close to enough. We had 8 days total in the UK and I split them between London and Glasgow, 4 days each. I'm planning a big trip in 2026 for my 60 birthday hopefully full retirement. I'm hoping to do a TA with some time in the Uk and then follow it up with another week on a cruise out of Southhampton.

Not all ships but all Oasis class ships. Booking shows starts at the beginning of the month of the month prior to embarkation. On Quantum class it is the same but the only show to book is the one in 270.

UK Customer On-Board Credit Issue

I would jump on that offer but I plan on booking other cruises. If you have any thought you may that is a substantially better than what you were asking for. -
Royal Upcharging on paid in full cruise?
Tree_skier replied to RedJessi's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Try checking in with the app... That seems to be the way that Royal is transitioning. -
Portside Barbecue... Is there a lunch menu?
Tree_skier replied to yogimax's topic in Royal Caribbean International
My experience with Portside was before the price increase but lunch and dinner were the same. The menu does have the "Pittmaster special" that is only 9.99. That is one meat, 2 sides and a dessert. -
Our last one out of Galveston was Dec 2021 and it was exactly that. It was quite cool too. But from day 2 onward it was great.
