  1. Regardless of nationality, as long as you don’t leave the transit area you do not need a visa https://www.mfa.gov.tr/frequently-asked-questions.en.mfa#:~:text=Do I need to get, required to have transit visa.
  2. In my experience, medallions that are ordered through the app arrive in the color indicating the status shown in the app.
  3. I just wouldn't want to stand in line, especially for 6 cruises as the poster had booked. One phone call would be much easier for me. I try to do as much as possible with Crew Chat when I'm on the ship.
  4. Having the correct medallion color and level showing in the app can be helpful to get in the priority line at embarkation, when tendering, entering the PE lounge etc. If the level shown is incorrect pre-cruise, it’s worth making a call to me. Especially if it’s that many sailings.
  5. I’d describe them as a unisex large, maybe XL. If you fit into one of those sizes when you get an event t-shirt, the robe should be fine. Otherwise maybe way too big or way too small.
  6. I’ve had it be wrong in the app. It took a phone call to get it corrected
  7. That is what I am am curious about. Is it like renting a float or snorkeling equipment, where you pick it up and just go about your day then return it before you leave? If so, how heavy are they and how easy to set up on the base?
  8. That is why I am asking if anyone has rented one. Not sure they have enough staff to follow everyone around till they pick a spot though. The clamshells are all together.
  9. Yes, they are $34.95 on Princess as well. My only question is for anyone has used them. I wonder how heavy they are and if they are easy to set up.
  10. There’s lots of shade, especially is you move back from the water. We’ve never had a problem finding a spot when it’s just the two of us
  11. I see they are now renting beach umbrellas at Princess Cays which sounds much more appealing than the clamshells to me. It seems from the description that they are picked up at the stand and are in a bag with a base and can be set up wherever you like. Has anyone gotten them? I’m curious about how easy they are to set up and if they are heavy.
  12. Is anyone aware of what hotel is currently being used in Siem Reap for the 2 night ship excursions to Angkor Wat? A couple of us heading out soon and are struggling with not being able to get the hotel name so we can't apply for Cambodia visas. It’s incredibly frustrating!
  13. Unless you’ve been in an area that would make you need a vaccine or waiver to enter those countries, you should be fine. Residents of some countries will need them.
  14. Most often yes. There can be special cancellation rules for some excursions involving flights, hotels etc.
  15. I’ve used them quite a few times with no problems in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with them.
  16. I’d pick a hump cabin every time. I have no issues with the walk to the back of the ship but I hate having no shade in aft cabins.
  17. Thanks for the fantastic review and hope the rest of your trip goes smoothly!
  18. If Celebrity wants to institute a policy requiring all adoptive parents to present proof of adoption at check-in, they could I suppose. The problem is that they have no such requirement and port agents asked for documents that are not required nor even something that people would normally travel with.
  19. I absolutely agree that what you experienced was dead wrong. Unfortunately, I’m not sure how much control Celebrity (or any cruise line) has over this sort of issue with employees of the Port Authority. I hope you have also complained to the Port Authorities.
  20. I’ve seen them at 7:30 and 9:30 on most sailings but 8:00 and 10:00 in the Mediterranean
  21. Happy New Year to you @mahdnc Thanks for sharing your trip with us!
  22. This is the simplest issue for Celebrity to address. No such requirement to present adoption papers when traveling on a Celebrity cruise with a child who shares your last name exists. There is no excuse for telling you they were needed. What constitutes a red flag for trafficking is much more complex and involves the port authority and all cruise lines operating out of the port.
  23. There is no requirement to carry adoption papers to travel on a cruise ship with a child who has the same last name as the parents. The problem here is that rules were not followed and neither the staff nor two supervisors seemed to understand the rules. I can remember being stopped at a checkpoint heading back to school in Miami during the Mariel boat lift and having an official ask a friend for his citizenship papers after we’d all been asked where we were born and he answered Cuba. There’s no way any normal person would carry that document with them for a day at the beach or even that a student would have in with them at college. This situation was just as absurd.
  24. I think the demise of formal nights was the disappearance of the option to rent a tuxedo onboard. Less than half of American men own a suit of any kind much less a tuxedo. The odds of everyone complying with the requested dress of dark suit or tuxedo on formal nights is pretty low, especially on sailings from North America.
