  1. I don’t recall seeing long lines at all on either cruise. They asked those without reservations to step to one side to wait after they approached the check-in area. It was pretty much like any land-based restaurant. For what it’s worth, we normally eat at 7 or 7:30, I can’t remember exactly what we booked.
  2. I can’t promise it will work for you on this trip, but we were on the Apex twice last year and our reservations worked perfectly if that’s any consolation.
  3. I don’t think traditional early and late seating is available on E-class ships. As with Princess, can make a reservation in the same dining room at the same time each night for your party, then request the same table be assigned for the whole cruise when on board. Requesting a shared table with the same group of strangers each night isn’t an option.
  4. I really like the sunset veranda cabins on Edge class ships. They are fantastic and there really aren’t words to describe how much nicer the bathrooms are compared to Princess ships 😂
  5. I’ve been in late June and had fantastic weather. It was a 14 day itinerary with few children. The scenery was stunning. My favorites were the sail in to Geiranger and kayaking in the Naeroyfjord when we were in Flam.
  6. I wonder if you have the option to apply for a new single entry visa using the correct seaport complex names?
  7. Am I correct in understanding that these bottles can be taken to the dining room?
  8. You haven’t mentioned the cabins you are comparing. I personally can’t stand the infinite verandas on Celebrity’s Edge class ships so I’d pick a traditional balcony on Enchanted if those were my two options.
  9. What location is best is very subjective. I prefer Michelangelo to be close to Vines so it’s easy to bring a glass of wine to dinner. I find it a huge pain to get to Botticelli that requires walking up two flights of stairs in order to walk across on deck 7 to get access to its location on deck 6.
  10. I’ve watched people turned away for wearing shorts on a couple of cruises in the past year. It was a big issue on the Sky Princess last November
  11. It all depends on how comfortable you are with the possibility of missing your flight. Would you be stressed if that were to happen or just move to Plan B? You might easily make it with no problem but ….. Disembarkation can easily be delayed. I’ve had it be 9:00 before the first passengers can leave the ship and secure y lines can be very long.
  12. It isn’t too far and there is a taxi stand as you exit the pier. Our driver was a serious golfer himself and had lots of tips to share (Lots and lots Ha ha) He arranged to come back for us and said the clubhouse had his number if we finished early.
  13. $15 per person per day so $105 per person for a 7 night cruise. Crew appreciation is $16 per person per day. That means you pay $29 per person extra to have the extras of the Plus Fare Package - beverages, casual dining, desserts, access to Ocean Now ordering, medallion shipping. Drinks vary from $2 to $15 plus 18%
  14. I played Cedar Valley last spring. The conditions weren’t great but it’s an interesting course. We had our clubs with us but rentals are available. We grabbed a taxi when we left the ship.
  15. You can see which nights are scheduled as formal nights in the Journey View activities timeline in the app. Every evening will show either “casual” or “formal” portraits. I’ve seen it populate as much as a couple of months before a cruise. They are most often on sea days and never on the first or last night.
  16. You can access the app on a PC using the web-based version just like you can access the website on a phone and print from there. That’s what I’ve done when I’ve been away from home and need to print luggage tags. I haven’t yet tried printing from the app
  17. It sounds like maybe the issue is the app vs the cruise personalizer not an issue with your phone versus your computer. Did you use the web based version of the app or the cruise personalizer on the website when you were successful?
  18. Hard to say, but I would have guessed the majority could. I usually only do it when I’m traveling, but it’s as easy as printing from a computer.
  19. You are mistaken. Very few people have an interest in scaring others or even in what they wear. I am simply reporting what I’ve seen so that no one is stuck having to eat in the buffet every night if they end up on a ship where the dining room manager chooses to enforce the no shorts rule. No one can predict with certainty that it won’t happen. Just pack pants.
  20. That’s exactly what I said. If eating in the MDR is important to someone they should make sure to pack long pants. Just because you haven’t experienced it doesn’t make it mythical. Many people have reported seeing the policy enforced even though it’s often ignored. It can happen and people should simply be aware of that.
  21. Both. I remember last November there was a man who came back to a roll call after our cruise on the Sky who was really upset that he’d been turned away for wearing shorts. He’d gotten the impression that the policy is never followed and was really frustrated. I felt badly for him. It’s not fair for any of us to promise that shorts will be allowed in the MDR unless we are going to be the one at the door making the decision.
  22. They weren’t enforcing it on your cruise, but I’ve seen people turned away several times in the last year. There are dining room managers who stick to the no shorts policy. If people want to eat in the MDR, they need to be aware that shorts may not be allowed.
  23. People being turned away or wearing shorts and flip flops to the MDR? I’ve seen both many times. There is an older man on our current sailing who I’ve seen at dinner a few times who looks like he’s dressed to either clean his garage or go to the beach. It’s always up to the dining room manager to enforce or not enforce the policy of no shorts in the evening.
  24. I’ve done the tour on the Apex and really enjoyed it. There were no gifts involved though.
