  1. Another way to look at it is area (sq ft). The Sky suite is 1.5x traditional balcony cabin. The CS is 2x the size. The CS has a separate enclosed bedroom.
  2. Laura was the Retreat Concierge on Equinox when we sailed in January. She was wonderful. The Equinox Retreat Lounge is one on S-Class ships that was upgraded (from Michael's Club). I found it to be bright and comfortable, but hardly utilized. The Retreat Sun Deck is on the front of the ship up several sets of stairs. No elevator access if you are physically challenged with a lot of stairs. Also very under utilized. Luminae was excellent (food, ambience and service) as usual. If you are in a Premium suite (above Sky suite and Celebrity suite) you will get dining in Specialty Restaurants included. Equinox has Murano - don't miss it!
  3. I enjoy the Ron Zacapa Old Fashioned at the World Class Bar (Diageo liquors). I was able to order this (frequently!) on Equinox in January. I have seen here on CC that Diageo no longer has an agreement with the parent company of Zacapa. Other rums will need to suffice.
  4. As an Aqua Sky Suite guest, you can dine in Luminae or Blu. Both nice options. APEX also has 4 main dining rooms if you want to occasionally dine there. Most folks here would recommend Eden or Fine Cut reservations. If you cannot get them in advance, you will be able to get dates and times when you board if you go see the Retreat Concierge or the maitre'D of any restaurant. The excursions are a different story. The popular ones do sell out so choose early. Also did you join your Roll Call group? There will be a lot of discussions on non-Celebrity private excursions that you might want to join with fellow Roll Call members.
  5. Yes this has also been my experience, and they knew what I would order too.
  6. I guess you are responsible for yourself and your kids. The other couple is not your responsibility. I ran into this situation in the past with my family. I did not allow my kids (even when teens) to do whatever they wanted on a cruise- and explained that they needed to understand the rules of the ship. My son occasionally did not want to change from his shorts and T-shirt for dinner. He was told of the acceptable options which were room service, the buffet or the Mast Grill. We did not dine together on those nights, his choice. But in fact we dined together almost every night in the MDR, properly dressed.
  7. Maybe you are using this as a figure of speech I hope! On a 3000 passenger cruise that would leave 300 unruly folk running around!😀
  8. Celebrity outsources their IT function and website as many corporations do. But they do contract and pay for this outsourcing and should expect better service. They also outsource their call center function.
  9. Big difference from a cosmetic type upgrade during a scheduled maintenance situation vs the full Revolution. No evidence that that is happening any more or any time soon.
  10. Is the state FL or one of the others that Celebrity cruises from? Still not likely to help but who knows.
  11. We really do understand your point. But the important thing that posters here keep responding to you is that it is not the norm on most Celebrity cruises. But probably on every Celebrity cruise there might be one or two of these types of belligerent cruisers. Out of several thousand on board. Most of us just ignore them. Easy to do. If you think it is the norm of Celebrity going forward, then maybe find a cruise line with your kind of sail mates.
  12. I think they are referring to having a real balcony.
  13. Ok you are paying for a Celebrity cruise over NCL and you want to drink a lot maybe but for free or a very reduced price? Why cruise Celebrity?
  14. Yes this is highly likely to be the reason.
  15. Thanks so much. We are considering Silversea for the Galapagos.
  16. Definitely escalate this and keep doing so until you get an answer.
  17. Thanks for posting. We were on Equinox Jan 21-30 this year. The breakfast and lunch OVC buffets were similar to your video. Plenty of selections and pretty much same as we experienced in the past. But for our cruise, the dinner OVC buffet was paltry. Pizza and pasta and a small salad bar. So what you show is a significant improvement for the dinner buffet. Not as great as in the past, but certainly enough choices to probably satisfy many cruisers now. I guess Celebrity did listen to its passengers to some extent.
  18. We had a similar cruise on Equinox recently. Aruba was changed to Nassau. At least you get to stay in Curacao! But missing Bonaire is very unfortunate.
  19. With respect, this is likely a much more complex question than anybody here on Cruise Critic can truly answer- unless they are a port agent at Port Everglades and they know scheduling, port nuances, fees, deliveries, a multitude of factors. Where you have to park and shuttle is probably far down on the list.
  20. We have done excursions organized with small groups from our Roll Call. We know them from the Roll Call or from Cruise Critic but of course have never met most of them in person until the cruise. Sometimes we meet them on ship prior to the excursion and make friends. Often lasting through the cruise or beyond. This was easier to do when the CC roll call parties were happening. Another example would be to organize an excursion with some folks on the cruise who we have often posted with here on CC. For example, we have not (yet) met in person but I feel like I know you in general from our interactions over the years here on CC. We have a number of things in common. So a shared excursion would be enjoyable I think. There are other posters here who I would avoid like the plague!☺️
  21. On this (now long) thread, having read the positive and negative comments, minor skirmishes, and the grasses greener on various other cruise lines, I don't think Celebrity is at a crossroads. I think Celebrity loyalist cruisers are at a crossroads. But if I go back a year, 2 years, 5 years and 10 years, I would find the exact same type of thread. Some of us have tried other cruise lines, but have come back and are still posting here and still sailing Celebrity. If anybody finds the absolute perfect cruise line at the price point (for them) stick to it. And let us know what it is and where to find your posts going forward!😀 But nothing wrong with variety of cruise lines and ships. We all need new adventures.
  22. Yeah we just all need an Ignore Button for live people.
