  1. Yes I think we had a Sky suite for that cruise mid-ship with the large balcony.
  2. Celebrity needs to follow RCCL ships and put a decent burger place on their ships. RCCL has Johnny Rockets.
  3. Definitely would not miss a tour or change itinerary for what Celebrity calls lobster tail. Go into a restaurant that night in Victoria and order real lobster!
  4. A couple of years back we took Summit out of Port Liberty NJ round trip to Quebec and back. About two weeks. Visited the Canadian Maritimes and Maine. Overnight in Quebec City. A great itinerary and cruise!
  5. Thank you! That helps a lot!😀
  6. There is not a good burger (no charge) anywhere on a Celebrity ship on most days. Sometimes the MDR has them on the lunch menu but not too often. The OVC lunch buffet usually does not have them either. Yes there is Luminae but that doesn't count. Neither do the burgers that you pay for in specialty dining like Lawn Club.
  7. No we have not tried HAL yet. But definitely we will seriously consider them at this point. What type of cabin do you sail? What is their equivalent of a Sky Suite?
  8. I will check them out. Thanks!
  9. Yeah I figured! Lol. Believe me I wish the next Celebrity ships had at least a mixture of IVs and traditional. But I am happy with S Class and M Class. Hopefully they will not sell them.
  10. I think they did this on the Titanic.
  11. I would not sail an IV, but I am one person posting here. And in fact have never sailed in one so I don't count. But IV haters? Honestly, I don't see how you can really prove this. A lot of people here on CC really like the IV and offer very positive reviews. Or there are neutral people too - but not in the category of haters. Yes some negative posts and haters. But in Real Life? Have you seen a poll by Celebrity or the travel/cruise industry on this? There is just one over-riding observation. Celebrity keeps building the E-ships and keeps selling them out. There are thousands of people per ship and per cruise spending money for IV's. Even if you hate them. Or even if I would not sail in them. No matter. The numbers (and profits) speak for themselves.
  12. I was under the impression that ICON had a few of these but not the entire ship- which has mostly traditional balconies. Not sure about World Europa but it seems only a few of these too. W Europa looks like a homely version of Oasis Class on RCCL. Only E-Class is pretty much all IV's.
  13. Yes so true! We went last in July and it was very warm the entire trip!
  14. 5 Celebrity ships with the IV's so they will be around for decades. It is interesting that other cruise lines have not adopted the IV concept for their new builds. Yet.
  15. So if you are in an Aqua Sky Suite, is your assigned restaurant Luminae or Blu? Or both equally? In other suites, the Aqua passengers get preference over the suite passengers in Blu particularly at peak times.
  16. OK but who cares about CC where the experienced cruiser most definitely has a preference for a traditional balcony. If they are selling out E-Class ships and Infinite Verandas, that is all they care about and all the proof they need.
  17. A few years back on an RCCL cruise we were on, there was an all-out brawl on board. The next morning at the next port, 8 people were walked off the ship. And some had families with them.
  18. Diet tonic water- yes. But no diet ginger ale.
  19. Influencers or any other term you want to call them are everywhere these days and the common denominator is that they depend on people to be influenced (hits, visits, etc.). Some do it as a profession, others as a hobby. But there is also a fine line and a right to privacy (for us) vs. their free speech rights. I would not want to be filmed on a ship or anywhere else without my implicit consent. And Celebrity should perhaps give or deny permission to the influencers on board, with a set of clear cut rules and guidelines. Thank you- said my piece!
  20. This topic will go on forever. It started back years ago now when Edge was announced. And there is no answer except personal preference. We are long-time cruisers and prefer a traditional balcony. On E-class our options are suites or sunset verandas. Or we sail S-Class or M-class ships, or non-Celebrity ships. Pretty straightforward for us really.
  21. There was a whole thread on this topic recently. See below. In general, some Celebrity ships have posted certain hours where kids are allowed. But in general it is not popular with most adult cruisers using the area. Once on board, check with Guest Relations for your specific cruise. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2922972-solarium-adults-only-not-so-much-😐/
  22. No such thing as "its only a sky suite". You will love it. And happy 30th!
  23. I would ask your TA to take down a reminder to check with Celebrity later this year. Perhaps shortly after Oct 6 this year when people have made their 90 day final payments. There might be an accessible suite open up if somebody cancels. A longshot but who knows?
  24. I'll offer a somewhat different perspective. First I agree with everybody that Luminae is wonderful and it is included. The previous posters (and me too) have cruised Celebrity suites quite a bit and they perhaps see no reason to spend for Specialty Dining when you can go to Luminae. But the first time perhaps you want a little more variation and experimentation. And perhaps you have on-board credit to spend or don't care about the extra dining fees. So on Equinox on our last cruise (January) we went to both Murano and Tuscan Grille and very much enjoyed both. And of course loved Luminae. We have been to Le Petite Chef on several ships but not last cruise on Equinox. If you have not been yet, it is a unique and fun experience. Even more fun with a larger crowd if you are sailing with others. Even though we sail in suites quite a bit on Celebrity, we do enjoy the specialty dining as a nice change.
