  1. It sounds similar to the cruise that we had except we had fewer children but seemingly little or no adult supervision of them running and screaming in the passenger halls . We think that generally the longer cruises seem to attract more experienced adults . Are the UK cruising rates increased during children's Holiday time as it in the US ?
  2. The Buffet This is how I used to be before I met my wife Steamers is on one side and Planks on the other And the Omelette Station is in between And the pool and the Outrigger Bar was out back . It was now Sunrise at 0351 and the sun stayed up 19 hours and 22 minutes .
  3. The Promenade was closed so I decided to pop up on the deck like a Whack a Mole . But first a few awards , the ship's officers and a Sea Cow . Scanning the horizon for Iceland .
  4. Congratulations on your 45th ! We're sorry that we can't buy you bubbly on the thread but how about a balloon drop ?
  5. The shops are on this level and have expanded into the Atrium area I didn't notice this in the morning but that night was a Formal Night but didn't bring dress apparel but cold weather gear instead . We were going to eat casual at the buffet until we something that we liked at the Coral . We did want to take photos at the Captain's Champagne and the area was mobbed with access being blocked by stuff for sale and the photo backdrops . C2374.MP4 The waterfall is no longer where you pour into the top glass and it cascades . Rather it is poured to the side with the angle of the photographer making it look as if it is still a cascade .
  6. The Casino was next after the theatre My wife like to play this game to stimulate her mind - but not with her money . The only sign of passenger life that I saw at this time in the morning was ladies feeding the machines . For me , I remember a verse from the old song by the Guess Who Colored lights can hypnotize , Sparkle someone else's eyes . My new SIL likes to gamble but the bug has never bit us . However , we did let our oldest grandson play a similar game to this one below when he was about 7 on a Carnival Cruise . He was trying to win a set Beats headphones that were all the rage . And darned if he didn't grab them in the claw and dropped them into the drawer . The drawer wouldn't open all the way and so we went and got the man that worked there . He refused to open the stuck drawer and told us that someone else had just won some on the last cruise . We told him that didn't matter to what was happening Now . When he still refused I told my grandson that it's the reason of why we don't gamble . Even if you win a game of chance or skill , people will still steal it from you . We found some new cruise lines after that .
  7. We traded wet and hot for wet and cold for a break before the Hurricane season really begins . It's 26.6 C for a low and 34.4 C for a high today with rain and 100% humidity . What did you think that the population demographics were on your cruise ? We traveled with our adopted family who are in their 40's but their sons are 13 and about 16 and had a great time with them . We're supposed to meet for an Indian Buffet today at lunch to get their impression of the cruise . They also did the Golden Circle but we have seen it before so we went to the Diamond Beach and later saw puffins in Vik . It was a 5 hour drive each way to see the glacier . 🧊
  8. A small proper kettle in the UK . We wished that all ships would allow these . Continuing our tour still on Deck 6 with the Suites dining in the Coral Dining Room Soft Corals and a sea fan
  9. Princess did change the dates on our Chef's Table to a day later and we had 14 people at a big , long table , instead of the usual 10 .
  10. Thank you for sharing your experience on the CB . We know how tough it is to write a live thread so we are doing a post cruise photo thread day by day . How was Greenland ? We had a similar cruise in a suite but had to miss a port with tenders which we were able to dock at on our first trip there in 2019 . The children on our cruise which was the one before yours , were not so well behaved but we did enjoy Scotland , Ireland , Iceland and the UK . We did do a much different trip in Akureyri and Reykjavik with lots of driving . We sure loved having a kettle in our suite ! Cheers .
  11. The Chef's Table began with a fitting for lab coats and a good hand washing . C2389.MP4 It was great that they had a table instead of jugging a camera , food and a drink at the same time , like before . C2391.MP4 The great wall of food . Photos of how it should look on the entire voyage C2393.MP4
  12. After the photo walk I woke The Princess up and we decided to try out the Omelette Station for breakfast . After that was the Bible study and a 1100 meeting about the Chef's Table later that evening .
  13. Thanks , we wish that we were on board . We are meeting with our oldest grandsons for breakfast and to plan our next cruise with them , wish will be in November with the whole family - on a different cruise line .
  14. @heatherb1958 You are welcome . We are at home currently so the link that I showed yesterday is the current cruise . Cruisemapper currently shows them in Nanotalk today until 1800 GMT , before returning to Southampton on the 13th . We are glad that they made it as we did have to miss a port on our cruise . Their current position is here . https://www.cruisemapper.com/?imo=9215490
  15. The Coral Dining Room is where the suites have dinner and lunch at sea . The Summer rolls were fresh and good but the wrapper was gummy . The Thai rolls were a better choice for us and they gave us 3 .
