  1. I was given this number on a call this evening: Emergency Travel Team 800-256-6649, option 1 two times
  2. Curious: were you in first/business class? I'm hoping that'll give me a shorter line.
  3. I am also flying relatively early on the 5th (11:15?). Fingers crossed we both make it!
  4. Thanks, David. 😃 I saved $350 on my Constellation WBTA (was on hold for about an hour, but that's not a bad return). Unfortunately, my Reflection cruise in August is past final payment, and BPG doesn't apply at the moment because my category is sold out. I may try again before the promotion ends.
  5. I noticed a flight change that had me flying to the U.S. from Rome to an intermediate city and then on to my home THE NEXT DAY. I called and got different flights, but it was a pain. Look for the flights you might want (your original ones may no longer be available) and tell your TA to call and suggest those.
  6. I have complained when the damage makes the bag unusable. Wear and tear is one thing. Negligence is another. I have had severely damaged bags replaced on the airlines' dime.
  7. COVID is a virus. The variant now is incredibly contagious. I wish people (general "people") would stop feeling like failures by catching it. Eventually, pretty much everyone is going to get it.
  8. There is a lot of information about Rome, and some very informed people, on the Port of Call board.
  9. @Lastdance You are welcome to move away from me if I cough.
  10. 1. Yes, you can add a beverage package through the cruise planner once booked. AI also includes gratuities, so you'd want to consider that amount as well. (But perhaps not for an AU/NZ cruise; I am not familiar with the booking differences. The grats may be in the fare.) 2. The MDR is at the back of the ship (or perhaps the entrance is midhip-ish), not the front. The theater is in the front. You should read Celebrity's "Healthy at Sea" information on the website. Click "requirements" at the top of any page.
  11. The point is, skipping breakfast leads to eating more during the rest of the day. Anyhoodle, you could try ordering the coffee before you go to bed; it may stay warm in the carafe. Maybe not. You may have to compromise on something. 😉
  12. The "Or, order very expensive room service coffee." remark refers to the Vegas hotels, not to Celebrity's room service.
  13. Coffee makers are one more thing to maintain, clean (!), replace -- they'd be happy to bring you coffee at the time you specify in the morning. Just hang the room service breakfast menu on your door before bed. (Also, not trying to talk you into breakfast, but studies show people who eat breakfast lose more weight when they are dieting. Of course, those people don't sample everything on a cruise ship buffet, but a little fruit and some eggs will tide you over to lunch, which can then be smaller.)
  14. You can name Facebook. You just can't direct people over there for a roll call or other purposes.
  15. I just did a mock booking and got the sale applied. Try another cruise/date/cabin category.
  16. I'm not understanding your reference to a 10-day isolation. The CDC now recommends only 5 days, with isolation ending after 5 days if fever-free and with improving symptoms. Who is "they"? Edit: I assume that's Celebrity's protocol, but if your DH is improving, you should be able to rent a car and drive home in a couple of days.
  17. The newspaper is tough, but I still bring and read books. The paper ones. And yes, by the pool. I don't read underwater, though.
  18. Never mind the testing, but a 10:00 a.m. flight is cutting it really close. See if you can take a later flight on the same day.
  19. Maybe. A friend of mine just flew home from a TA: tested negative at the airport and positive when she got home (like hours later).
  20. Sure, they can be replaced . . . but not on a ship or during international travel. I'd rather not deal with the annoyance and inconvenience if possible.
  21. Head to the Roll Call section and search for your ship and cruise.

  23. For others' edification, there's a difference between "the day before" and "within 24 hours."
  24. If you are in the U.S. (can't tell from my phone), order some of the free government tests and practice. Then watch the YouTube videos of others taking the tests. That'll give you a good idea.
