I was on the Carnival Horizon for Halloween and if they only had shirts printed with something for the holiday they could have made a lot of money, And folks don't want the darn company logo, they want the name of the ship. oh well

there is a cc person called Island Girl and here thread is called Thoughts, and impression of world cruise. It is usually in either first or second page of RCI main threads and quite interesting. This person is on until two of the 4 legs. Doing the first that ends in Los Ang and then get back on in July in Barcelona.

well they all need to improve their ship shop. I hate it when they have not magnets, or nice shirts with ship name or hats with ship name. Merchandising has gone downwards on all ships.

aw but there are couples who go on cruises who do not drink, do speciality dining, or shore excursions either. I have friends like that. They get the room and then are cheap cheap cheap on the ship. some solos do spend more than folks think. I am one of them. Either way the cruise line is judging us and I don't like it. would be nice if cuiselines would price point their rooms to make a profit without all the other crap. But it won't happen because all of them do it. Once on board, they hope you will cave and spend more.

Now that is something I never understood why a booking could be made for 2 and not 1. I have heard it the other way around trying to book for 2 and only accepting 1 which might have to do with quantity in life boats. I do suppose if I really wanted a ship and it would not take 1 in a booking, I would call and ask why.

and those short cruises end up being party cruises too. Never thought they would build a 6th Oasis class. I sure wish they would have built a 6th Quantum class and NOT sent to pacific area.

I guess I don;t understand why somone would even go that route. what is the gain. Not implying you dishonest but seem stupid thing for anyone to book a person who won't end up going.

well then the person did not gain anything by booking two people and thus having one not come. I do not think it is ever a good idea to book someone who in the end won't show up.. Just odd.

I too thought this was odd but once I made full payment then I think within a few days I could go on line and reserve my dining by time and size of table. And for the Grand Princess they provided a stagger time slots like every 15 minutes. Not sure what never ships did, but I just select same time every day for solo table and I got it and I got the same wait staff too.

well try it but you might get a bill for the difference. It is IMHO a bit dishonest.

Even if you do not get off in Nassau, it is a pretty port to sail into past the tiny lighthouse, and most likely there will be other ships in port that you can look at. But the area near the port was just upgraded with nice shops. Still I tour I liked was the Pirates ship which took me around the ships up aways and then in the other direction. Was fun and good harbor cruise.

aw that is a thought. But still a much loved part of the cruise was erased and it leaves a bad taste in folks mouth. Hope you have nice weather when the time comes

Ocean view in very front of ship could hear some wind. Oceanview on sides and down low can perhaps be quicker to get to and from. For the most part I like Oceanview as you get the light, but do not have to tolerate balcony noise and the ocean view are a little less money too. But if you go on Oasis class or Quantum class ship and have an ocean view room in very from facing area, be prepared to hear some loud music and bass from the crew bar down under the bow as they have stairs and an opening where the music can drift up. Yes, I have had it happen on three different ships and it takes a struggle with guest services to resolve. And of course nearby passengers who also hear the noise, are reluctant to go and complain. Wasn't I lucky.

yup I was thinking the same and found your reply to agree with. I am so glad that I am very low maintenance. I like interior room, don't drink or gamble and enjoy the buffets as much as MDR. Cruise lines have to try hard to please all types and for the most part they do. But really who needs a butler. oh well.

usually at baggage claim you will see signs from the various cruise lines.

it's all about the journey which can be days or weeks. then in 1 day poof all done. But as of this writing, we still have new Years to look forward to, then Valentines, then Easter as well as tax season. Cycle of life.

I suggested all the kiddies have an hour where they bring the ducks to the pool and let them float around. Or if the pool is empty but the lifeguard is still staring because he has to, then at least put a duck in the water so he has something to look at. ha ha Trends come and go. ya know..............
