  1. well I guess now that the shipyard has shed a few tears saying goodbye to ICON, they can now move onto STAR. Wonder if lessons learned will make STAR build go faster. Can't wait to hear the name of the third ship is class
  2. and people laugh at me for having 8 planned for next year. I keep telling people I meet that my 8 per year is nothing compared to lots of folks. they just shake their heads. But for 2025 I only have 2 planned.
  3. yes I can and I have but I still resent doing so. but at least RCI provides free flavored teas I got off CCL Celebration last week and any flavored tea is now chargeable and NOT free.
  4. well Labadee does not have a nice pool like Coco nor does RCI serve as much variety of food either. Still nice to watch zip lines coming down along the water.
  5. glad to see she is going in for dry dock. Saw her recently in port while on the Celebration and she was looking rather rusty in back and all along the side near railings. I sailed her in 2018. Sailed Horizon this past October and rather liked things on that ship more than Celebration.
  6. ah yes I liked the lobster Mac cheese and I loved the bread too. Crab cake was rather mushy but good
  7. NO sports on tv in room which is odd. Ya gotta go the bars or the large pool screen. Interesting way to make more money on booze I say. On the Celebration the Pig and Anchor area doe have lots of large screens and place to sit.
  8. well no matter how many comments are posted, it is all sad for that family. I just hate hearing these stories and for the life of me do not understand risk takers.
  9. I am on the May 5th and I like both captains equally. So, either way I will get one that is nice to listen to. Had Loy on Ovation and Johnny on first season of Harmony. Looking forward to getting back to RCI since I just finished two on Carnival newer ships. Cruises were nice but various small issues like having to pay for flavored tea and hearing voice in the shower drains as well as too much rowdiness. MIssed the nice RCI cookies too. I will be glad to get on the new Icon of the seas. Especially looking forward to the entertainment which was lacking on CCL and the new open to the sea concept of promenade. Right now, she is going around the upper bend of Netherlands and heading down towards UK area. I am sure captain Loy will wave to his Norway. Both captain for Icon OTS are from Norway. Not sure if I will book Star OTS though. Toodles
  10. just off the ship and I was so surprised that there are NO flavored tea bags in buffet area. If you want something at breakfast time, they come around and for a fee will provide some flavored tea bags. Wow this was unexpected and very cheap thinking from Carnival. I go on all the other lines and lots of variety in tea is always to be had. Oh, and while walking around the ship, you won't find trash cans except at coffee stations, and in the bathroom stalls. I mean really. One more thing, I could hear conversations coming out of my shower drain and vent. But ship had one of the best cruise directer ever named Lee from UK.
  11. and last week on Celebration since lines were long, a bunch of us got waved over to the casino elite line and never did get sniffed. But you are right also.
  12. well let me share my wonderful dumpling I had a JJ's was good. I leave Sunday on the Celebration and weather should be clearing up soon. But right now FL and Caribbean is a rocking.
  13. okay I guess no ones really knows but I unfolded all mine after I took photos and they were all clean and smelled good. here is my photo of the whole group
  14. at least you found one, I saw one and so did two other people and we all tried to run to grab it. needless to say I lost.
  15. great photo. I was on the Horizon two weeks ago for Halloween and loved this view. I am going on the Celebration for Thanksgiving and looking forward to going to Amber Cove again.
  16. yes yes yes, that would be wonderful. I am convinced that music is played to keep the crew happy like when cleaning lounges or smaller areas during the day. I do no understand why the music in the hallways is not turned down at night too. Of course one can have a nice balcony until a neighbor puts their music on or talks loud. Funny but I have found a few ships with a wedding chapel, and I go and sit in there for peace.
  17. well I hear you but at least the boardwalk is a bit more fun. I even think the lower window view on central park are good too. but not promenade as that could be nosy. It is a game to try and get a nice quiet room. I was on a Princess ship in Alaska in August and was up front with only one room next to me and no foot traffic. GEE wasn't I lucky to learn the guy next to me was hard of hearing and played his tv twice as loud. earplug did not even help. After I gently complained to room steward, the volume did come down. Then I met him and he felt bad so he decided to use the closed caption. so best laid plans can still not work. I mean I got the one person who has half deaf. oh well.
  18. I have never done the Blue Lagoon and now I don't ever want to. I would think about the accident and the person who lost their life.
  19. oh gosh quick grab it a $799 is such a great deal or NOT. I mean I like the free pool and walking around the island.
  20. oh dear now something else to think about. I would think it would be a lot of work to separate towel just for animals. I hope they clean it all the same.
  21. yes but not every night. for central park folks can look down from buffet and pool areas. Less privacy and the loud music is more hours than the aqua show. Hey no reservations for show just sit on balcony. Still more and more I go for interior rooms.
  22. oh yes I agree. On Carnival newer ships they have Blue Iguana quick mexican food with quality rice, toppings, meats and various sauces and garnish. It is free and they do a breakfast version as well. It is near the pool and open until 4pm.
