  1. Perfect. That like is exactly what I was looking for. I don't drink but as the one that does all the bookings I was trying to get things in order. The pdf says to simply press 2 on your stateroom phone and let your butler know your selection. We will probably just do that. Iain doesn't have a drink until about 7PM so we will have plenty of time to have it sorted out.
  2. To Tag someone -- you are pretty close. When you type "@Orv" a pop up window will appear. You have to select the person from the popup. That's it.
  3. Have to agree. One thing I have noticed is that when on a cruise most guests are very engaging and at least say good morning or nod when you pass them. I walk 10 miles a day and it's amazing how many people even when you say hello just walk by like zombies. Having said that I think a greeting can be contagious and many that I pass on a daily basis now greet me with a smile and acknowledgement.
  4. Good to hear. Not really complaining but just pointing out the difference of a guest having to go to the effort as oppose to having a concierge reaching out to make sure all your wishes are in place. Right or wrong, I would just expect that a more premium line should be reaching out to their top Suite guests. I personally put Oceania in the more premium category while I fell Celebrity has fallen into the Mainline Category. Where do you find the list of drink and wine offerings, or do you also have to request that.
  5. Thanks for the wonderful review. Really enjoyed reading.
  6. We are a Male Couple that have been together for 37 years, so I guess we will fall into the Senior Population. When we first started sailing Celebrity in 2000 we really felt more comfortable traveling with a Gay Group by a major gay travel agency. Times were different then and we were concerned about being uncomfortable seated at a table of red necks. That of course never happened and I have to say we have always felt welcomed by everyone we have ever met on a a cruise. Times have changed dramatically and I have to say we virtually never attend a LGBTQ event. We have met so many really nice people gay, straight, young or old. Many of these have become lifelong friends. As a matter of fact I just got a text from a couple we met in April saying they were excited about our upcoming Oceania Cruise and would be following our live blog. I really think the OP's son will have a wonderful time if he is engaging and interested in meeting others regardless of the demographics. There are really so many interesting people on every cruise we have done.. as well as some that we chose to distance ourselves from.
  7. Saw this posted on another site - NEW CHANGES COMING OCT 1: simplyMore will end and "Your World Included" begins From Oceania: "As part of Your World Included, all guests will now receive included shipboard gratuities for stateroom attendants, butlers, and dining waitstaff automatically in their cruise fare. Previously, gratuities had been included selectively as travel partner or loyalty club amenities or for guests from certain regions of the world. Gratuities are in addition to other Your World Included amenities: dining at all gourmet specialty restaurants; sodas, juices, specialty coffees and teas; still and sparkling Vero Water®; unlimited Starlink® WiFi; in-room dining; fruit smoothies, gelato and artisan ice cream; group fitness classes; and laundry services. The updated inclusions will begin on October 1, 2024, for all new reservations on sailings departing on or after January 1, 2025. The line's current simply MORE™ offering will end on September 30, 2024, meaning that a shore excursion credit and beverage package will no longer be automatically included. Guests can personalize their vacation experience with extras such as air transportation and transfers, shore excursions, or a beverage package, to be added according to preference."
  8. Vanessa - Really good to see you here. I'm getting more excited every day to experience Oceania. The members on this board have bee so helpful in answering all my "dumb" questions. It is a little intimidating shifting a to a new line after 24 years of exclusively sailing Celebrity. Iain was kidding me today and asking what if we hate Oceania. I said well I guess we will cancel our Vista Cruise in 2025... He retorted -- no way.... I may never leave the Owner's Suite...
  9. No real rush. I will probably start a different thread for a Live Post here and have a separate post on Celebrity Thread comparing the two lines.
  10. One difference between the two lines popped up this week. This is something that is probably more apparent to cruisers that sail in upper suites. Celebrity has a Shore side Concierge that reaches out to upper suite guest prior to the cruise and setup arrival time, pillow selection, specialty dining reservations, requests and special Celebration. Not a great perk but it does make you feel pampered. Celebrity reached out to me last week for our November 15 cruise. Iain asked how we specify the pillow selection and the six bottles of liquor choice. I assume you just let the Butler know upon arrival. Not really a biggie and have to admit that often the requests from ShoreSide Concierge never make it to the staff. We really don't have many special requests and they do keep them on file in our profile but we usually ask for the following: 1. Two ergonomic pillows 2. Swap out the bubbly for Chardonnay 3. 2 bottles of Grey Goose 4. Extension Cord 5. Tea Kettle in addition to the Coffee Machine 6. 5-6 Dinner reservations at Specialty Restaurant
  11. Sorry haven't posted in awhile but things have been a bit crazy. It is 1 1/2 weeks away from departure so we are kicking into gear. I had to pick up a new suite case today as we had lost a wheel on it last cruise. Time is going to start to fly by quickly.
  12. In addition to what is mentioned above, I believe that all at the table have to order the Tasting Menu. We have never done it because I don't drink and wasn't worth it to pay for the wine pairing when I would not be drinking it.
  13. My experience has been on the negative side. I was traveling in the U.S. and needed a refill. Was told my prescription could only be filled in the State that My Doctor was licensed. If in Mexico or many South American Countries you should be able to go to any pharmacy and they will sell you most anything without a prescription.
  14. I posted the new Menu's when they were first released. You can see them on this post. Message 579 - not sure why link isn't going to that message... Ahhh you have to click on the title in the grey box..
  15. I've done a similar tour a couple times. They use to have a small cooking class for 10 in the Murano Kitchen. After the class you had a lovely lunch in Murano. If you would like a little bit more upscale of an experience you may consider the Daniel B Chef's Dinner. The start out with a meet and greet with bubbly and Charcuterie, The chef then comes out to meet the group and takes you for a 15-20 minute tour of the kitchen. That is followed by a 4 course dinner. I've recently seen this tour on our Transatlantic. Also noticed they have another where you learn to make Pizza and then have it served in a restaurant. On top of that they have a Steak Master Class and a Steak Tartar Class. With so many sea days they must be coming up with all types of ways to make additional money.
  16. I've found the very responsive. About 2 months ago I had a weird headache and decided to test out of abundance of caution. I tested positive. I had my partner test and he tested negative. I had Zero other symptoms and fully up to date on vaccinations and boosters.... about every 4 months as recommended by CDC for my age group. The protocol is totally different now and the Doctor's office told me to isolate until no fever for 24 hours. Since I had no fever she told me to isolate for 1 day. I never had any other symptoms --- Next day I tested again using a different brand and tested positive again. I decided to self isolate and wear a mask.
  17. Sorry to hear. Sounds like a glitch for the cruise if others are having the same problem
  18. In that situation you may wish to avoid booking an Alaska or Iceland cruise. My experience has been that 99+% have raved about the enjoyment to see possibly a once in a lifetime Northern Lights experience. I've never recall them making an announcement after 11:00 PM. I think it would be almost an impossibility on a ship but on a Pre-Cruise Alaska excursion the hotel had the option of having the front desk call your room should the lights appear. There were probably fewer than 200 guests at the Lodge.
  19. Curious if you are within the 21 days prior to the cruise. Even though your cruise shows in the app it will not activate check in until that time. The app should show the date. You should be able access your booking on the Celebrity Website (not app). If so just go in and grab a check-in time - You can come back anytime in the App and complete checkin up until 48 hours prior to cruise.
  20. As other's said. On a single account you can use unlimited devices but only one at a time.
  21. I think you may be referring to the Helipad which is open for Concierge and Above for Sail Aways on certain day. I believe the OP was talking about the Retreat Sundeck - This area on most ships have a hot tub and a Swimming pool on E-Class. If it is the Retreat Sundeck it is only open to SS and above. The Retreat Sundeck is only available on E-Class and ships that have gone through Revolution. On ships that have not gone through Revolution it is still a Forward facing Sun Bathing area and is open to all passengers. To my knowledge the Helipad with a hot tub is only available to crew. I've sailed in Penthouses many times and never given access. (nor would I want to go there to use the tub)
  22. I was noticing the same in one of the videos.... I believe there is a breakfast station with boxed Cereal and Individual Yogurts. Are these type items self service or do you wait to be served?
  23. My taste goes to Belgian Dark --- Hold the wax.
  24. Our experience has been that after mid-September the temperatures especelly the evening temperatures drop. The norm if you google on temperatures for say Lisbon - September 80F/63 with 3 days of rain October 73F/53 with 8 days of rain Depending on were in the Adriatic the temperatures may be cooler. Also will be cooler while at sea. I would plan on packing with a layered look where you can take off or put on extra layers to your comfort level
