  1. Like all other reviews whether it be a live report or an Amazon review - I look at the negatives and then compare to the number of positive reviews. I'm really looking forward to reading your review.. Don't recall when your cruise is. My first Oceania Cruise is exactly 2 months away in September. I'm on Regatta and have been warned it may not be the same as other class ships. I'm still excited.
  2. I apply for cruises as far out as 2 years. They apply it and never ask to re-submit. Since I don't actively trade in the account that holds my share I only get a quarterly statement. I usually submit for all bookings right after I get a fresh statement. I'm sure confident purchase confirmation will work.
  3. I often book myself with Celebrity or book on-board and then transfer it to an agent for additional OBC than what I received from Celebrity. Many times I simply e-mail some agents I deal with and ask what they would offer for the transfer of a booking. On average I would expect an additional 7-9% Refundable OBC on top of I had already received from Celebrity. I can honestly say the agents that offer discounts like this aren't the best at checking your cruises for price changes and I have to do that myself and then e-mail a request to price match.
  4. Please don't get disappointed and stop posting. Your views and questions are both valid and enriching to read. Unfortunately I get many personal e-mails from users that say they now longer post because the get beat up every time they post. Unfortunately this is common when people like to bully and hide behind a anonymous handle. I've learned I have to have a tough skin and use the Ignore User functionality for those that are negative about everything.
  5. Jeannette, So excited to follow your next adventure. Love your fur babies... I sure miss my Golden. They have to be the best dog in the world. OK... I'm prejudiced. Bruge is really a great town to explore on your own. We just explored on our own and found a hidden gem of a place for lunch... We weren't looking for a large lunch and it fit the bill. Home Made Soups, Breads and sweets .. It is outside the touristy area and more of a neighborhood place for a Coffee and lunch. https://www.instagram.com/postbarbrugge/?locale=en_GB%2F
  6. My experience has been that they are open when you arrive at that time.
  7. We are not big eaters and often do exactly as you suggest. We may order a starter and then an appetizer as a main. We are often asked if we would like to super size it for a main. We usually decline. It is often just the perfect size to be able to leave enough room for the most important part of the meal --- Desert.
  8. I use my AirTags on 8 items including my car. There are some basic limitations that you need to be aware of. 1. They do not use GPS. Instead they use BlueTooth and location is determined by them communication with anyone with and iPhone with BlueTooth enabled. The AirTag must be withing about 30 feet of an iPhone and will then report back to you the LAST TIME it as tagged. 2. Location shown will only be the coordinates and on-find me will probably only show a dot in the ocean. AirTags can not tell you where on the ship or on what floor so probably useless for tracking the whereabouts of you grandson except his last known coordinates in the world.
  9. My experience an overnight stay in a port is treated identical to any other port day. Thus MDR and Luminae are closed. When the port arrival is around 11 or later they often treat it as a sea day and are open for lunch.
  10. Doesn't have to be difficult or stressful. Just shoot the QR Code for Attention to Detail Form on your phone and state your complaint. You will hear back quickly --- these forms go directly to the Hotel Director and his team -
  11. I have been told directly by Sommelier's, Hotel Directors and Maitr' d's they wish to be advised immediately so they can take appropriate actions otherwise other guests may have the same problem. If they know about it they can address it. I once had a problem with a Sommelier (I don't drink) and Iain's Glass set empty for over 20 minutes forcing me to get up and retrieve our Purchased full bottle to fill his glass. I complained only asking that we get more attentive service. They went over board and the Head Sommelier called me and sent a nice bottle of wine to our room. He dropped by our table that night and advised he would be serving us for the remainder of the cruise. It was overkill and I swear the Sommelier was shooting eye knives our way every time he walked past our table. Last cruise Iain asked for his favorite Chardonnay and was told it was aboard but was not unpacked yet. After the 3rd day with the same excuse, Iain sent an Attention To Detail message. The FB Manager called him and wanted to meet with him. We did and he apologized and said it was available and there was no reason it should not have been served. He was assured it would be available for the remainder of the cruise which it was. Next night the Sommelier served it and then dropped a bill on the table to be signed. Iain politely said it was under the by the glass limit and had no intention of buying a bottle... if he had a problem call the FB Manager.... I think the problem was the guy was new and was not properly trained.... no excuse.
  12. You forget he paid for an experience and requested an appropriate request. Would it be OK to serve a shrimp cocktail to a person with sever seafood allergies? I believe the problem persisted throughout the complete meal. Unacceptable.
  13. I"m sure you might be able to slip one or two aboard but more than than the risks increase. I've seen them confiscated and sent to the naughty room. A more appropriate gift that Japanese enjoy is a small boxed sweet - Candy or Small Cookie. I worked for a Japanese company and when I would have a visit by a co-worker they would bring me a small box of Kit-Kats (Wasabi, Green Tea) or other flavor. Nothing big. Spending time in Japan - it is in bad taste to hand a guide money - but if you put it in a really nice envelop they graciously accept . You also present it with both hand on corners and a bow of the head. Something like this -
  14. Sorry to hear of your uncomfortable experience. It should have been handled much better. I don't drink because it triggers migraines. I've never had a problem and unlike you the Sommelier handled it well and made me comfortable. For the toast he brought a choice of Ginger Ale in a Flute as well as a Non-Alcoholic Fre Bubbly. During the meal he paired a different non-alcoholic wine with each course. Wasn't necessary but it made me feel part of the celebration. Even when we are invited to the bridge for Zenith Celebration they always have substitutes which of course the crew drink. I would definitely bring you unfortunate experience to the Hotel Director or F&B Manager.
  15. When I was bitten by mosquitos in Barcelona area (Sitges) i bought something for the itch that came in a pen applicator. Worked great but no ingredients listed on it. It had a smell I recognized but couldn't place. Last year I found it on Amazon and bought it again and always carry. Surprise... Surprise the ingredient is Ammonia.
  16. Personally I use a combination of both - I initially use the App to select the time slot because don't need to drill down. I also use app to read Passport information instead of manually adding if using Web. I use the Web Page to upload my stock picture by just droppings as oppose to taking a picture each time. I had the same experience as you regarding the App and Web page showing two different dates (1 day apart). For my cruise the Web was accurate the App was off by one day. Regardless I tried the first day anyway.
  17. Beware for what you request. I've had numerous changes on Celebrity as well as most recently Oceania. The have almost always give the cause as - "Operational Issues" - Now that sure helped understand. Sometimes if you google you might get a clue. e.g. the reason for the Amsterdam/Rotterdam changes. Due to Saline Intrusion into the watersystem. This caused the port of Amsterdam to change the number of ships and hours when ships can come through the locks. Also many cruises along the West Coast had schedule changes due to Whale Migration and ships required to sail at much slower speeds.
  18. Baseball caps are not permitted in any of the restaurants whether Women or Men. The will politely ask you to please remove. I've seen the same rule applied to sun visors - (golf hat with brim but no top on it)
  19. You will be fine. Blue Jeans and T-Shirts with slaves are acceptable in all restaurants for Breakfast and Lunch. If you wanted to be acceptable for dinner the only change would be a collared shirt - A golf shirt would be an easy addition and still give you the relaxed feel you wish and comply with the dress code.
  20. I used the online form. To me easier to do multiple requests at one time.
  21. I just checked Silhouette for November 16 TA. The Only first night discounts shown is Lawn Club but the same 5% off as any other night. Currently they are only offering 5% for any night for pre-booking. Prices look to have increased and Murano is currently $60, Lawn Club $50, LPC $50, Tuscan $55 (Un-discounted).
  22. Go to this link --- https://www.celebritycruises.com/bid-on-cruise-room-upgrade Enter your Reservation # and Last Name - If your reservation is able to bid it will take you to the bidding pages. If it doesn't work the contact email move.up@celebrity.com They should get back to you in a couple days and either send you a link or tell you your reservation is ineligible. They have always responded to me quickly.
  23. Generally I've found fleet wise the final call is at 9:15 - that is also when B2B begin their b2b process. If they have the Stay Aboard Program available in many European Countries you are able to stay aboard until about 3-4PM - Fees may or not apply dependent on Suite Level and CC Level. BTW for others Stay Aboard is not available in the U.S.
  24. You will be ok ... I applied for a 11/2024 and 11/2025 a couple days ago and they came through in 2 days.
  25. Had an unusual experience with Share Holders Credit today. I submitted my latest statement for two cruises - I also wrote on the front page of my statement the Ship / Date of Sailing and Reservation #. I also filled it in online. This morning I saw a rejection email pop up - stating they couldn't find my reservation number... I started to contact them when suddenly two more emails came through confirming the credit had been applied to each reservation...... I guess someone pushed the wrong button then realized their mistake. Edit: just after writing I though maybe I should check out the reservations and sure enough all was applied.
