There is nothing in the email that states the "fee is waived" if you have paid the OceanNow fee. Nothing,  Nothing!!  That is pretty clear.

Disgusting. Which is it Princess ? I’m on the Sept 2 Sky princess , I’ve already been screwed by a mere 15 days  ( Aug 19 sky change date ) and now there is more confusion about whether my room service via the app will be free once I activate the ocean now $14.99.  Someone from princess needs to read this board and answer for this bait and switch again !!!

Sorry I didn’t explain very well in my last post.. I’ve ordered all the medallions & lanyards and did that ages ago. It’s only since this morning it’s telling me I need to do this.

But, not only have they taken the money for the personalisations we added, when I click to go through to the ordering page it’s shows what I’ve ordered.

Can’t get rid of the exclamation marks though.

think I’ll try again tomorrow to see if website/app was just having a funny 5 & will right itself overnight.

I ordered watch bands and I have the yellow exclamation points as well.  Been like this for over a week.

  3. @Outerdogif I’d have to guess… Princess is creating a “ frenzy “ by in my opinion deliberately showing you  that book your own cabins are not available , in order to hold many suites available so they later jack up the price at a later date for others.  So you get the lol discounted $5550 room at a guarantee while I bet they hold many unsold cabins to release later at higher price .

I also-believe  the new rules on plus and premier and downsizing standard which was a bait and switch, legal I’m sure but still a bait and switch,  has created a frenzy among ,many to upgrade to something they wouldn’t have considered previously.

  4. I have read the boards, called Princess yet it is still unclear based on the multitude of answers whether paying the one-time $14.99 medallion charge for service anywhere on ship really does also include  service to your room AKA the formerly free “ room service”..  as long As you use the app ordering the room service.

also unclear whether the “ formerly free “ to everyone breakfast ordered through that card placed outside door  is still free.

So does anyone really have the answer to this?

  5. Thanks all.  So I wanted to get at least one Crown specialty restaurant in. So I paid today and credit card was  already charged but I don’t see reservation in Dine My Way app.   Any thoughts why that would be.

actually revision… I see mine but my other traveling companions who we are connected with but have not chosen to book crown with us no longer show up

While this explains ordering on app, it likely will be the same on the TV when paying the $14.99 OceanNow delivery fee good for the entire cruise.

Astro flyer where did you get this bullet point document ?

It definitely seems to be saying , that for standard , if you pay once for the $14.99 ocean access , that if you use your app from your cabin to order room service, there will not be an additional $5 charge .. is that correct.?

on an earlier  princess sales video that someone posted, they said the ocean ready $14.99 only applied to deliveries anywhere on ship , but not stateroom.

can anyone clarify , do I  indeed avoid the $5 room service charge having food delivered to my cabin if I’ve paid the ocean now access onetime fee of $14.99 , AND I use the app only to order food to go to cabin ?

  7. Princess has just ruined the cruise experience and heres why. First, this change should only be for those who booked and paid for cruises past Aug 12. Everyone else should be grandfathered in.  But for me to think room service was free, Alfredo’s, and the medallion delivery to anywhere on ship was free ( since that’s what I was sold)  only to learn  these are no longer gratis , and to change this 3 weeks before my cruise, is disgusting. And a 14 day cruise at that !

The whole idea of cruising was to have  the basics everything included.  Yes alcohol was always extra understood. Naturally . of course was ok with the “ specialty dining “ that’s a preference, and many times have  greatly enjoyed it. But the room service really has me fuming . First it is totally confusing.

    1. they stress it’s $5 if you pick up your room phone to call in room service .  But it’s unclear what if any the charge will be if you order room service from the TV or app ?   On the Carmen video posted earlier she  appeared to say “ rather quickly “ if you use app to order room service it will still be free even for standard .. is that everyone’s understanding?

    2. The nickel and diming, we might as well vacation on land only travel from now on and go also Al a carte  with everything, as all of this just creates stress and confusion. Or choose another line, that doesn’t create a class structure, if those lines even exist.🤔

Arrival times haven’t neant anything for a long time. Priority boarding only means that you can sit in the priority boarding area until boarding starts

Then why do they bother to ask you in  medallion app for a preferred boarding time with assigned Group's ?

We were on the Enchanted Mediterranean cruise from June 24 (Rome) to July 8 (Barcelona).  It was an excellent cruise with beautiful weather and a wonderful itinerary.  This was our first post-Covid cruise and the experience was completely positive.  There were no indications of illness on board, very little coughing, and fewer than 1% of the passengers wore masks.
Both embarkation and disembarkation were flawless.  We did not have our medallions mailed to us and it took us less than 2 minutes to get them at check-in.  They worked quite well for us, but we are not inclined to order food or drinks with them.  We prefer to do it ourselves.  We did order drinks once or twice, but decided it was quicker to do it ourselves.  (Besides, it was better for us to get up and burn a few of the calories that we were consuming.

We can’t say enough for the wonderful crew on this ship.  They were a delight to interact with.    Here are a few random thoughts about the cruise.

—Wonderful ports, Istanbul was the highlight for us and we had an outstanding excursion through Ephesus Shuttle who also gave us our Kusadasi excursion.  Excellent guides, maximum of 10 passengers in a modern comfortable van.  We highly recommend them

—Brilliant destination talks by Johanna Grove who unfortunately had to leave mid-cruise due to family illness, but are pre-recorded her talks for each port before she left.

I can see that this is getting very long, so I’ll just stop and will be happy to answer any questions.  Bottom line:  best cruise ever and we would love to do it again!

By any chance did your itinerary include Alghero, Sardinia as one of the stops and if so, was it a tender into the Old Town of Alghero from the ship docked in Bay of Alghero?

  10. I am posting here as well as Princess  boards but because this is a Princess Ship I though someone who has been at the Alghero Sardinia port with Princess would know.   I know we tender but where does it tender  to ; is it in the Bay of Alghero ? and are you dropped off with the tender in what is called 'the OLD TOWN".

    Anyone who has done this?

We are arriving @ Heathrow, on Virgin Atlantic. We have a car service picking us up. I am told to meet the car driver @ WH Smith?
Not sure what this means.  I assume we go to Customs, and then get our luggage. Then go find the driver. Can anyone tell me how fare it is to this pickup spot?

    thank you

    Brian & Lisa

May I ask what transport company you used and if you would recommend them ?

£95 is not far off what I'd expect to pay for a car that takes that many people.

For context, if you were to pay a walk-up fare on the Heathrow Express, it would be £100 in standard class for the four of you. And that would only get you to Paddington, which isn't really quite central London. And you'd have to move and carry all your luggage yourself.

As Ashland asks, what were you expecting to pay?

I understand the pricing and know it’s expensive curious as to why there are wildly different costs.  $95 vs $160 . Perhaps the $95 won’t show up , but the more expensive are more reliable.  This is my reason for the initial post to ask if people with good experiences would give me some recommendations.
