  1. I'm not that idiot, but guess I am an idiot, as I always travel with zip ties. I use them to "lock" any luggage that I will not have in my possession for a period of time.
  2. I've been looking forward to another Jim and Iain review! I used to hope that one day I might meet both of you on a Celebrity cruise, but that possibility is becoming slimmer and slimmer (and there is no way I can afford to cruise on the new lines you are venturing on to). But I still love your reviews!
  3. Thanks for the answers. They are liquid shakes - she doesn't use powder.
  4. My daughter is on a special high protein diet, and she drinks some of these shakes every day. Is she allowed to bring them onboard? I looked at the Celebrity list of things not allowed, and I would guess if they're considered food, the answer would be yes. If they're considered beverages, not sure.
  5. Happy Birthday, Charla! It's nice to have another trip report from you including Gen Z, who is growing up to be quite a young lady. Enjoy the rest of your cruise!
  6. The Effy credit is useless - need to spend $2000 on certain items to use the credit.
  7. Thank you for the great review - I love your humorous style of writing!
  8. Sounds like a plan - I am never going snorkeling, although I love the boat rides!
  9. I've done this also - my daughter wanted to snorkel, I didn't, so I stayed on the boat and drank!
  10. I couldn't understand her reasoning. And the fact that she called means nothing - Celebrity reps are notorious for getting things wrong, not being updated about changes, or just making up their own facts and rules. Thought I asked a pretty easy to question to answer IF you had sailed in a suite since the changes (which she hadn't). But there's always one on that site, isn't there.
  11. Thanks to everyone who answered. I had asked this same question previously in a retreat group on another social media site, and there was a person who swore up and down that I would be charged for everything I used from the minibar. She last cruised in March and was using that as her rationale, even though I pointed out that there had been changes. When I asked her what "complimentary stocked minibar" meant, she huffed and puffed and basically said she was done with me. LOL! I thanked her politely, and then proceeded to get much better answers from others, including all of you!
  12. I agree about the warm beer! I usually try to keep a bottle in the ice bucket if I'm planning on drinking one. Although my last cruise on the Eclipse, in a regular balcony cabin, the "fridge" was actually the coldest fridge I've ever had on a cruise!
  13. Thanks. Wondering about the beer and soft drinks. Also, I've read that if you don't like the particular beer/soft drinks that are stocked, you could request that your butler switch them to those you prefer. But if you only drank the water, guess you wouldn't know. Anyone else that can answer?
  14. Has anyone cruised in a suite since the new suites benefits package has been announced? For all suites, it says that a "complimentary stocked minibar" is included. Just what does that include, is it replenished daily, and for certain, you are not charged for using minibar items if in a suite, correct?
  15. Have been looking forward to this - and I made it here on the first page!
  16. Jamie, thanks for all of the info on the travel router/VPNs. Forwarded to my daughter and she will have to decide whether it's something she wants to/can tackle.
  17. Hi Jamie. Can you let me know a little more about this router, and once cruising, how everything works? My daughter, who sometimes has to work while on vacation, hasn't been able to connect to her work's VPN, and their IT department (small, as this is a non-profit) doesn't seem to have a clue. Perhaps your husband has the answer! Thanks!
  18. As an aside to your aside, on the latest episode of Master Chef Junior, one of those Gordon Ramsey shows, the kid chefs had to work in teams to prepare meals for a group of magicians at the Magic Castle!
  19. I always add things I've done to my checklist -otherwise, how would I know I've done them? I actually have a core checklist, then add and subtract depending on the cruise, how many days, expected climate, etc., etc. It constantly changes as I pack.
  20. Yeah! Finally made it to the first page of one of my favorite cruisers' reviews. I'm usually so far behind.
  21. Thanks for the advice - just bookmarked your Dream review, and I promise I will get to it (eventually!).
  22. Following along. It appears you and your Mom have quite the adventures on your cruises! I apologize now, because I don't think I've ever read any of your previous reviews. Now I fear you have added more things to my to-do list - go back and read your past reviews!
  23. Jeff and Patti, thanks so much for all of the work you do to provide us all with these wonderful reviews. Right now, a Carnival cruise is not on my radar, but if it ever is, you are two of the people I would want to cruise with and meet in person!
  24. Finally finished! I am so far behind in reading the live reviews I have saved. Thanks for the great trip, Sid!
  25. Now I know I am going to get really confused about which Celebration Live I'm reading!
