  1. In about twenty cruises we've only walked out on one piano bar player. He was talented but he would just talk and talk and talk. The best we've had was on Splendor. He was a young kid and put on an amazing show. The sad thing was that the venue was a shoebox. People were spilled out into the hallway to listen. Then I think it was Panorama or maybe Radiance last year, the comedian also played the guitar and later in the night he came by the piano bar and played a number of songs with the piano player. Was a great time. The feel the venues are often just waaaaayyyyyy to small. Word gets out by the second night and it's standing room only and clearly not big enough for the crowd. Loved the piano bar on the NCL Bliss. It was in their brewery, the District Brew House, with dozens of taps. I don't think I've ever drank so much beer in my life!
  2. I will get to the hot tubs right when they open to get a hour in there without being bothered.
  3. Meh, the cruise lines need to be careful to not be kicked out these ports like Bar Harbor did. Didn't one Alaska city (Sitka) already try to limit cruise ship capacity?
  4. I would not see that happening. As a west coast resident, it would be cool but I feel there are just not enough ports.
  5. Can you take a cruise line to small claims court? My dad sued GM (and won) in small claims court back in the 80s but I am not sure how you would go about it nowadays.
  6. I don't know about the cabins but the pool guy was always cleaning that crud out of the aft pool and staff had to clean the aft chairs on the morning it would happen.
  7. Was on it a couple weeks ago. Had a great cruise. Greatly enjoyed the new MDR menu items. The crawfish linguini was very good.
  8. In all of our cruises, we've never had a problem. Check your bags and pick them up off the ship. Give yourself a cushion for time. If you have to catch a flight at noon and you disembark at 10am, I have no sympathy. I've never understood why people are in such a hurry to get off the ship. It's really amazing to me.
  9. Nice! I used the app and it was on the fifth day that I was approved so that is a great turnaround.
  10. I generally appreciate it when stewards, waiters and bartenders remember my name. Customer service on land is so horrid nowadays, it's nice to have an elevated experience when I travel.
  11. While this doesn't effect me much, my wife, when we do go to the dining room for bfast, will be bummed by this. But the seaday brunch is such a mess with crowds we usually only do the mdr for bfast on debarkation. Never the less, it's only a matter of time before an increase and or cut effects each of us. I am disappointed by these moves because it seems every time I stop in on CC, there is another cut\increase announced. Just watched Cruise Radio video and all Carnival specialty dining is going up. Well, the drink package increase was a bummer for me but we can largely absorb that. I am waiting until they have a fee to use the fitness facility. If that happens, I may look elsewhere for west coast cruises. *I did love Bliss out of San Pedro.
  12. We're on Firenze for the innagural. Gotta say, bummed to read there is no pool at the back of the ship.
  13. Readily available on any service provider that offers National Geographic.
  14. I'd rather have no cruise director and in place more (helpful) guest services agents.
  15. We cruise both alot and both have pro's and con's. We like the fast casual food options, Guys, Blue Iguana, Shaqs chicken versus not having those options on NCL. On the flip side, we like The Local on NCL for late night snacks. We also appreciate the drink package on NCL a little better. But on Carnival you get free coffee, gatorades and energy drinks that you don't get on NCL. We like the comedians and piano bar on Carnival more but prefer the overall entertainment on NCL. Bars are the same and rooms are equal.
  16. I wouldn't put it past them. Especially with their changes to the spa rooms\suites not have spa access included. Now an upcharge.
  17. Well, this is a bummer. We sail out of Long Beach probably five to six times a year. Always on the four day. This will add costs and probably keep us from booking as often.
  18. Therein lies the problem. Their customer base is not those of us on here, or repeat cruisers for that matter. They want blue cards, the more the merrier!
