  1. I agree, but I wonder if there's a ventilation issue. When they build the ships, they know where they are putting the casino and probably put in some addtional things to help air circulation/smoke mitigation. Or not, I'm just thinking out loud.
  2. On Oasis, it's The Music Hall in that same space.
  3. Royal has said there will be jazz musicians at various times in other areas of the ship--like Central Park. There's no longer a dedicated jazz venue.
  4. This sounds like all the ports are in the U.S. Other countries have a 'do not travel' warning for their citizens thinking of coming here.
  5. you'll have your 'set sail' pass either on your phone or printed, you can use that as well.
  6. If you bought for 4 grandsons, did you also buy for yourself as well? Because at that point, a waterpark cabana (which includes entry for 6 people to the water park) might make sense, depending on if there are any still available.
  7. Totally! And it wouldn't be per person. OP's MIL is definitely confused.
  8. I just pulled up the current sailing for Navigator in the app (departed yesterday). There are the following movies playing--no charge: Bullet Train and The Woman King in the main theater. Lyle, Lyle Crocodile, Strange World, Ticket to Paradise and The Woman King on the Pool Deck screen.
  9. be careful, most 'power strips' are prohibited. Nothing with any sort of surge protection either. There will be tables filled with these things when you get off the ship that were confiscated at boarding/during luggage scans. You can pick them up as you leave the ship. You will also see a vast selection of irons, steamers, kettles and coffee makers.
  10. You can also try using the app, as soon as your board the ship and are connected to the ship's wifi (free for the app). More spots may have been added. The app will fully update once you're connected to their wifi and you'll be able to see things you weren't able to see before and also click on things like a non-reservable event like a belly flop contest and that will add it to your calendar and you'll get a pop up reminder.
  11. I'd never swap Allure for Voyager. Add in the fact that it's 5 days, not 7....no way.
  12. The Quantum class solariums are amazing....nice to see they replicated it on Wonder. Oasis class is still my favorite, I think it's Central Park and the other neighborhoods I prefer over a Seaplex.
  13. Here's the current sale price for a 7 night on Harmony (out of Galveston). This is the price before the added 18% gratuities, of course.
  14. A new Cruise Planner 'sale' is going on right now, I got the email this morning. And I'm sure there will be yet another one right around Memorial day.
  15. good to know, it was 2019 when we were on and it wasn't on the 'list'.
  16. It did not. I will say, that while we didn't participate, it is extremely popular on most sailings, from what I've seen. Keep an eye on the planner/app for when it is going to happen and get in line early! Make sure you have long pants and socks.
  17. Yes, somewhat. They will give you a piece of paper with the times allocated for guests with The Key for things like iFly, rock wall, Flow Rider. It's usually one hour at some point during the cruise, and may not be a time you can or would want to go. For North Star, we were given the opportunity to sign up for a certain time slot when we went to the boarding day lunch. They had staff at a table helping with that. This was on Odyssey, so your experience might be different. On Allure, since there isn't an iFly, we only had the piece of paper with the one hour block for the week for the different things.
  18. Always ignore the 'percent off' or BOGO half. The move the base price around a lot--and it's different from ship to ship/sailing to sailing. Look at the bottom line. But yes, you'd get the 'deal' but remember, you need to call, you can't do it online. The refreshment package for your wife will also vary in price--somewhere between $28 and $40 ish per day, before the 18%, depending on the 'sale' at the time.
  19. This is from the post on the prior page, but no one knows for sure.
  20. I'm hearing the Hyperlink group for that 'in-between' ages has been hit or miss. I think that being on such a small ship without all the things that teens/young adults gravitate to will probably add to the boredom factor. No sports court, no pool with slides, no flowrider, etc. Also, not nearly as many food options, no promenade, and so on. Hopefully you have a very port intensive itinerary where there will be something to do off the ship every day.
  21. I think most have moved to FB. I belong to several for upcoming sailings and they all have 200+ people.
  22. When I sailed on her in 2014, we had three in a balcony room, it was a fold-out sofa, no pullmans and not a trundle. So it would be two kids sharing a bed, that is maybe the size of a double bed? It will be very cozy in an inside room.
