  1. Make sure everyone's booking has them assigned to 'late fixed dining'. If it's not, then work with Royal or the TA who booked each reservation to make sure everyone is assigned to late fixed dining. Do that now. Late fixed dining is usually around 8 pm. Then make sure all the reservations are linked so they know you are all part of the same group. Then email the email address listed in taglovestocruise's comment above. Wait to send that email a couple of weeks prior to your sail date. Then once you board, head right to the maining dining room to speak with somewhere there to confirm they have taken care of it and where your table is located (a tip goes a long way for this step).
  2. Last year, so if they got the extra point, that was a lucky break. I wasn't able to get the extra point per night for a September sailing when my daughter was unable to sail at the last minute and had to be a 'no show'.
  3. Not any longer. They stopped that, you now have to book as a solo to get that extra point per night. Of course if you book solo in a solo cabin, you only get 1 point per night total.
  4. Anthem has the indoor pool area with two indoor whirlpools that sits between the solarium and the outdoor pool. Odyssey, has another outdoor pool in that same location between the solarium and the other outdoor pool. It also has the outdoor splashaway bay. Odyssey: Anthem:
  5. Rumor has it that Odyssey will be coming for late 24/early 25. But while she's still the same class of ship--and is a great ship--there isn't an indoor family pool like on Anthem. That's a huge plus for Anthem during the winter months out of NJ when it's too cold to be out at the regular pool. The only enclosed area is the adults only solarium. So that's the trade off. And as another person has pointed out, for Oasis Class, with the outdoor central park filled with live plants, they can't sail during winter in a region where they could get snow, ice, sub-freezing temperatures that would destroy that entire area of the ship.
  6. I bring my own. I don't trust that they really will have one in my room, or if it will be the right level of magnification. I have a travel one.
  7. That's pretty much the only way and yes, if somone cancels, it should drop back into the Cruise Planner. How far out is your sailing? If it's very close, then you may not have much luck with people canceling at this point, but when you board, go right to the excursions desk to ask about any openings for the things you are hoping to book.
  8. You can send things out to be pressed (for a fee). Or bring some Downy Wrinkle releaser and hang stuff in a steamy bathroom. Embrace the wrinkles. 🙂
  9. I'm trying to picture an Oasis class ship at Key West and it's hilarious. That port can barely handle the small cruise ships. Here's the itinerary for the 8 nighters. They drop Roatan and Costa Maya, keep Cozumel. It takes that extra day because Coco Cay and Nassau are farther away.
  10. No, but you can go to the Diamond Lounge. Only suite guests, and if there's room, Pinnacles, can use the suite lounge. Diamond and Diamond Plus use the Diamond Lounge.
  11. The OP is using the website, not the app. It's true that the app isn't supported on some devices now. But using a web browser should work on anything.
  12. Always cancel the cruise planner purchases first. They refund fairly quickly that way, but can take forever if you cancel the cruise and depend on Royal to sort out your cruise planner refunds.
  13. They stopped doing in room sitting quite a few years ago.
  14. Before the Covid shutdown, entertainment on Oasis class/Quantum class would open up as far out as 90 days because they'd release them on a 'rolling schedule' where they'd open up several sailings in a row. So for some sailings it would open up a full month before other sailings. I'm wondering if they are back to doing 'rolling' releases, just not as broad as before. I know I'll be stalking way in advance since it only take a second to check.
  15. The check in time and wellness check are the same thing. It's just the usual few questions about if you have had a fever, etc. Hopefully you didn't swap out an earlier check in time and then get that later 'wellness' check. They are the same thing. And you'll answer those same questions on the app right before boarding, the show up shortly before departure date.
  16. The one downside to Explorer, is it is the one Voyager Class ship that hasn't been updated. That is because it was due for a massive update during Covid, which obviously was postponed. I've sailed on her, and while she's still a great ship, she definitely could use some love. I've sailed on Navigator as well (her slightly newer sister) and the difference was significant between an updated/amped ship and one that hasn't been touched for a while. The other thing about the 'hump' on Explorer and Voyager, is those were built when the balconies are more inset/part of the structure, so you don't get more balcony space like you do on more recent builds. You can see what I mean in the pictures below. Explorer's balconies are inset into the structure versus Navigator's more open balonies. (which is why on the earlier Voyager class ships, you cannot open a partition between balconies)
  17. Actually, on my last two sailings, this was in the Cruise Planner each day: "PUMP UP THE JAMS, NOT THE VOLUME" "We know you are excited to blast your vacation playlist, however, personal speaker devices are not permitted in public areas and we ask that you be mindful of the volume when in your stateroom."
  18. I've eaten at Jamie's 3 times on Navigator and once on Symphony. I LOVE IT. I dined at Giovanni's on Odyssey and didn't like it nearly as much as Jamie's. The plank is great with a group, 4 of us shared it, but they upsize or downsize depending on how many are at the table. And it's fun. 🙂
  19. If you have the UDP, you can't book reservations until you're onboard. That's the trade-off for getting the much lower price per meal by getting the package. People who book individual reservations and pay that higher, single booking price, get to choose their time. Those who have UDP can then see what is still available--best to know what you want and head to any specialty restaurant as soon as you board to try and get all your choices booked. But you may have to be flexible.
  20. Remember, they are doing non-revenue TA for Icon. That may be the case for Utopia as well, depending on when she actually has her maiden voyage and where she's headed. That is, if that's the TA you were thinking--getting her from shipyard to homeport.
  21. might be time for a call. Have you tried added it on the app? Probably same issue, but figured I'd ask.
