  1. Here is what the suite concierge sent us earlier this year. Prices were definitely a bargain because ships weren't full yet. So W means waterfront, H is hilltop, S is standard and B is beachfront.
  2. ha! That is true. But when Royal announced they'd be releasing the new video today at 10 am eastern time, I know a massive amount of us were online watching it, as soon as it went 'live'.

  4. It used to be that Cabanas on Barefoot where only able to be booked by people in full suites (Grand and above) but recently, they seem to have opened them up for anyone to book. So yes, you can book one. But if you want to go to Barefoot Beach without having booked one, you'd need to be in a Grand suite or better, or have Pinnacle status, Junior Suites don't count as a full suite for most suite perks. For playing in the water, Columbus Cove probably has the better beach area--soft sand, fairly shallow and calm. And open to everyone. There are some bungalows there at Columbus Cove, less fancy than a cabana, that are a nice option if you want a fully covered space with comfy seating. You would book those via the Cruise Planner as well.
  5. @Markmom18, here's a map that might be helpful to put it into perspective. The unrest has been in Port-au-Prince (which is generally where they do have problems). As you can see, it's a very long drive to get out to the little peninsula of Labadee. The fact that it takes nearly 6 hours to go not quite 130 miles gives you an idea of the type of roads. The Royal Caribbean area, as others have mentioned, is completely enclosed by fencing and they do have security. You can't just wander outside of the fenced in compound, nor can others just 'wander in'. Anyway, I hope this helps ease your mind a bit.
  6. Perhaps that's the case for a Jr. Suite. But the full suite perks on Oasis and Quantum class ships are fantastic. If you're on another class of ship other than those and have tender ports, that could add value, as well as having happy hour in the suite lounge. Many also enjoy having a concierge as well as a more private breakfast area.
  7. Makes me wonder if that entire aft end will be all suites--and then the pool and the aft outside area will be exclusive to those suites? Or maybe that has been discussed and I just missed it?
  8. No one here, or anywhere else, knows that yet. Royal hasn't released any info yet about when booking will open or what the deck plans look like. But keep following this thread, I'm sure the moment it's announced, many people will comment in here.

  10. @smheeseWhen I was just on Navigator, and if I recall they were the same on Odyssey, the lounger inside was one whole piece, but you could raise/lower the headrests individually. We did get one on Navigator and I forgot to mention that the other things that come with it are four bottles of water that are inside of a side table that has ice in it. There is also a little lockbox thing if you need to leave your phone, room key etc, while in the pool. And there was a button to push if you wanted a waiter--although they were very short staffed and even with the button, it still took quite a long time.
  11. it is NOT per person. Just one person books it. It comes with the 2 drinks and 2 loungers, but you can pull up lounges next to it or have a bunch of you sitting on the lounges in the casita itself. I know the cruise planner says per person, it is not--so just book it under one of the adult's names.
  12. I did that itinerary for Greece this summer--on Odyssey in June. It was great, but yeah, hot when walking around, especially if you are doing things like ruins. But we loved it and we love the ship. Now we are booked on a Norway itinerary on Anthem for this upcoming May. We know we'll be in need of much warmer clothes, but as someone else mentioned, being able to see the Fjords from a larger ship may soon come to an end, so we made sure we booked that one sooner than later. Same for the Alaska glaciers, we did that in 2018 and are thinking of doing it one more time, maybe in 2024.
  13. I'm boarding Navigator today and yesterday I received an email about sticking to my assigned boarding time. Just now I got a text saying the same thing. I do have the earliest time (10:30) so I won't likely see how this all plays out, but you may want to stick to your assigned time if you don't want to be turned away and then end up standing somewhere in the hot sun, the rain, whatever.

  15. Hi all, I know this has been asked quite a bit, but I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. I'm sailing on Navigator departing Friday, Sept 2nd, so day after tomorrow. My adult daughter was going with me. She has the flu (she's a teacher and back to school nailed her). She's tested several times for Covid and it's not that, probably just a bad case of the flu (high fever, vomiting). We canceled her flight--oh and she lives in a different state than I do, so I've not been exposed. Since I'm now sailing alone, I want to make sure I get the extra points for going solo. Do I call and have her removed now, or have her be a no-show? I have seen that getting the extra points for a no show is hit or miss these days. Thanks in advance for your input!

Over the years, I have seen great deals and not-so-great deals over Black Friday. 2020 and 2021 had some great bargains because Royal was trying to lure people back onboard and generate revenue. Now that so many sailings are booked almost to capacity, they may not need to do deep discounts. I check a couple times each week for my upcoming sailings and purchase when a price is reasonable to me. Pre Covid, some of the best deals I got were not on Black Friday. And prices were totally different depending on which ship. Royal raised the base price on a lot of things over the last few months, so overall most things are quite a bit more expensive these days.
  17. No pillow menu for Jr. Suites. I don't recall seeing down pillows when I was in a full suite either, when look at the pillow menu. You should probably bring your own if it means your sleep will be ruined without a down pillow.
  18. yep. And there are a lot of crew around that can help if you can't figure out how to access the schedule, maps, etc. But it's pretty easy.
  19. you don't need the wifi package to access the app. The App is on the ship's intranet wifi. If you want to access the internet, other apps outside of Royal's, then you need an internet connection either by purchasing a package or paying for a day or so at a time (very expensive cost per day compared to the cost per day for a package. So as long as you both have the app, you can both access it whenever you want. Hopefully that all makes sense.

  22. There should be a sale in the next few weeks, so if your sailing is a ways out, then wait a few weeks. But you can cancel and then repurchase. That room service and 25% option had been during the height of Covid/early return to service, when they weren't doing the chops lunch due to distancing, limited venues, etc. It went back to 'normal' around the first of the year I think.
