  1. And as someone else pointed out, vegetarians are looking for an ACTUAL meal, not sure more helpings of steamed vegetables. I can tell that you are not ever going to understand my point, and that's fine. But saying over and over someone can ask for more vegetables isn't addressing the actual issue.
  2. also, there is a large difference between vegetarian and vegan. Since there is no longer vegetarian options listed and only one vegan, that is extremely limiting for a vegetarian. Vegan doesn't eat anything with any sort of animal product used at all. So nothing made with dairy, eggs, butter (no bread products, pasta, cheese, milk, etc.) That is definitely a more restrictrive diet than vegetarian.
  3. The new menus note at the bottom in the small print (and reports from those currently sailing on various ships confirm) that special requests will no longer be accommodated unless it's for a health issue like an allergy or gluten intolerance.
  4. So you are saying if we have one vegetarian in our group, that person should just eat in the Windjammer? I think having just one single choice in MDR--that is meant to cover both vegan and vegetarian, is pretty limiting. The percentage of vegetarians is growing all the time. Even having 1 vegetarian option and one vegan option is less that before, but more than the new menu is offering.
  5. Circling back on this since I just checked quite a few current sailings on various ships, including Symphony. The separate vegan menu no longer shows up on any that I checked. If they are truly only going to have one vegan offering (and nothing vegetarian), that's a huge miss, in my opinion. As I said in a prior post, not all vegetarians are vegans and would like to have something without meat, but not lose out on things like cheese, eggs, dairy as their protein.
  6. This is a good video showing the freeze damage. He says that crew told him it could take up to 3 months to get it all back to being lush and green.
  7. Yes, I can see it in the app, but I've also seen reports that it is going away which is why the 'V' option on the new menus is vegan and not just vegetarian like the old menu, so that it can cover all plant-based dining.
  8. Agree. There was usually at least one vegetarian item on the main menu for both appetizer and entree, and then on the vegan menu, usually 2 appetizer and 2 entree options. Now the vegan menu is gone and the only vegetarian option on the main menu is vegan--so no choice, just one option for appetizer and entree. Vegan can be pretty drastic compared to a vegetarian menu that includes dairy and eggs. Not all vegetarians are, or want to be, vegan.
  9. I think--and I'm sure there are some UK cruisers that can confirm or deny--that when sailing from the U.S., yes, you can smoke in the casino although there is a non-smoking portion. But when sailing from the U.K. I think they require it to be all non-smoking and no indoor smoking areas are allowed? I've seen some posts about this before, but now I can't find them. I'd like to know for sure as well.
  10. yes, that is usually how it works. I checked in for my Odyssey sailing out of Rome this past summer shortly after midnight, Rome time. Which was 3 pm pacific time since I'm 9 hours behind Italy. But as long as you check in the day it opens up, you'll get a good spot.
  11. My May 21st Anthem sailing opens for check in on April 5th. That's what shows when I open the app and click on the little head. 🙂
  12. open up your sailing in the app. Click on the little 'head' in the upper right hand side. It should tell you what day check-in opens for you. Also note, the check in ususally opens up just after midnight in the time zone where the ship will be sailing from.
  13. You should see the Cabana rental option by going online to your Cruise Planner and looking at excursions for Coco Cay. Most hold up to 8 adults, except the Thrill Water Park ones which hold up to 6. From what I can tell, they do sell out most of the time before the cruise, so if you want one, best to get it before you sail.
  14. Your boarding/setsail pass should say 'suite' on it and you should be able to board through the suite line. But you still need to check in (45 days before sail date) and choose what check-in/boarding area time you want. The earlier times go quickly so if you wait, you'll end up with an afternoon boarding/check-in time. On Allure, the other perks are mostly the same as other ships--2 points per night instead of 1 point per night, robes and a coffee maker (Lavazza espresso) in the room. Bigger room and a bathroom with a tub/shower combo instead of the capsule shower. The ONE difference for Oasis and Quantum class ships is that you are able to book dinners in the Coastal Kitchen (suite dining) if there is space available, but you do need reservations, so do that as soon as you board. Coastal Kitchen is up on Deck 17, aft elevators. The other suite perks such as the suite lounge, suite sun deck, reserved show seating, etc do not apply to Junior Suites. You are Sea Class on this list. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-are-the-benefits-of-royal-suite-class
  15. no doors are 'magnetic'. But almost all doors, walls and ceilings are steel/metal and therefore a magnet will stick to them.
  16. I think the rules changed and they no longer allow 'downlining' (joining the cruise at a port other than the original embarkation port). I fear you may be about to lose a lot of money since you didn't insure your trip. 😞
  17. On two of my cruises in 2022, we sailed into different time zones and there was a note in the room to remind people to please adjust your watches/clocks accordingly. And then a similar note when we sailed back into the original time zone. This was on Odyssey from Rome to Greece/Turkey and on Navigator to Cabo.
  18. Harmony and put that savings toward all the other things like drinks, excursions, etc.
  19. On Oasis and Allure, I think they are all exactly the same. On Harmony and Symphony, there are a few that have a 'half hump' location so have an ever-so-slightly larger balcony. But they are the same width, there's just a bit more depth on one side of the balcony on those two ships, and only a few of the GS's have that.
  20. open the app and click on the calendar icon at the top, middle of the screen. Then at the bottom, go to 'change ship/dates'. Then scroll to where you can click on 'browse our ships'. You can then choose Symphony and just pick a sailing that is coming up in the next week or so.
  21. Ships are back to sailing full and demand is very high. I'm back to watching for when a sailing opens to try and grab the best deal before demand drives the prices up. What month are you looking to sail? I've seen the prices for suites really shoot up not long after a sailing has been released and for my several upcoming sailings, there's really no suites left and definitely not any 2 bedrooms.
  22. You will get an email before your cruise, letting you know what time to get there and where you need to go to start taking advantage of the Key benefits. You'll be heading to the dining room to drop off any carry on bags, have your included lunch, get your info on the block of time for for all the Key guests for things like Flowrider.
  23. I will say, the aft jr suite I was in, 12324, got a lot of soot on the balcony, we had to remember to put a beach towel down before sitting on our loungers. And try not to touch the railings.
  24. Sorry, crazy week, not been online. I see the answers regarding J3 and J4. Odyssey also has J1's, which are the corners at the aft on decks 10, 11 and 12. They only have one bathroom.
  25. You need reservations for dinner, for breakfast and lunch you just show up.
