  1. Not a problem for me in the UK.
  2. True but we had to pay a 25% deposit when we booked.
  3. The Chilean Sea might be a bit watery for me.
  4. This is a river cruise and excursions are treated differently to ocean cruises.
  5. I see that from June Venice are banning loudspeakers and tourist groups of more than 25 people. I wonder how long it will be before some cruise lines take Venice off their itinerary.
  6. You've paid for it so whether you drink it or take it home is your choice.
  7. The only accurate answer would be from a medical professional. However, cruise excursions do not generally go to the areas where vaccinations would be recommended.
  8. You can buy wine in the UK so no need to pack a case 🤣
  9. As a UK resident please explain why Cyprus (note spelling) is safer than where I am.
  10. You can purchase it once on board but do it on day one as the cost stays the same, no pro rata reduction.
  11. In the UK we just ask for business class when flights are available, around 300 days in advance. Never have a problem so one benefit of living in the UK!
  12. I believe most business travel within Europe has the same configuration, you certainly won't get the same as you do on long haul. I'm UK based and will only use BA if no other alternative whereas they used to be our first choice. Had a couple of flights with awful service and there are better long haul alternatives for where we want to go.
  13. Aussies and Brits do pay gratuities but they are included in the stated price.
  14. I have been on a couple of flights where an announcement has been made that due to a passenger with a severe nut allergy none will be served. I can see their point but I still felt deprived!
  15. It will also depend on your home country. As an example US residents need a visa for Vietnam while those in the UK don't.
  16. A more understandable post might help to get responses 🤔
  17. I would prefer to hear about the more modern architecture and how these buildings came to be built. In the historical era I am sure those with money just built them whereas there are now far more things to be considered and overcome. Also provokes discussion on whether a building will stand the test of time to become 'historical' I can just imagine the conversation - Viking 'Clay, would you be able to be a guest lecture on (insert) Viking cruise? Clay 'i'll need to think about that, oh go on then'
  18. It was Jane McDonald that started our Viking journey. As my husband keeps telling me she has a lot answer for!!
  19. In the UK Blue Cross is an animal care charity so you might end up at the vets!
  20. Absolutely, if you don't ask you'll never know.
  21. If you compare the number of adults in the UK to the number in the USA you'll see why!
  22. I think one of the reasons Viking haven't expanded in to mainland Europe is that they are very much an English language company. Customer serving staff are all able to converse in English, to a greater or lesser extent and to introduce a multitude of other languages would have a comsiderable impact. While they can fill the cabins I can't see them changing their business model.
  23. I'm another Viking Ocean board person and exactly what I thought!
