  1. We are in a ocean view with large square window on deck 4 right off the R Bar. First time for that category for us. Really curious about how we will like it. In years past we have found we use the balcony less and less, last couple cruises hardly any...so we though it might be nice to just look out at the water without have to open those heavy sliding doors and the heat etc. Anyways, we'll let you know how we liked it. Grandeur also has an ocean view cabin in center of ship with floor to ceiling windows only , no balcony that I would like to try as well, decks 7 & 8.
  2. The crispy LOBSTER sandwich at Beach Club is even better, but not worth $160 pp?😮
  3. That would never bother me, as a rule, they never even got cool.
  4. Once on Legend cruising to Hawaii, there was a lady in Diamond Lounge that had a reaction. She said it was because a tray had shrimp on it and also chicken or something and that her allergy was so bad she reacted even if they touched each other and she ate the chicken. It caused a big stink one night, tons of officers and the chef came up to the lounge...quite the kerfuffle. I guess if you're that allergic you should stay away from the buffet line.
  5. Look again...the ahi tuna is called Tonno Crudo Pork Belly is Pancetti di Maiale and risotto-Risotto Ai Quattro Funghi Lookin at my phone right now its all there. At least for our Grandeur cruise next week. I have had all of the above.
  6. Yep, has long been my suspicion! I just use the rash guard shirt and a hat unless swimming. Don't much care about my legs. Towel over them when lounging. Never had any cancer or suspicious skin lesions. And as for the SPF ratings, I've read many times that anything over 30 is just overkill. Many articles about how the ocean cleans itself. No proof the die off in coral is even related to chemicals. Mostly warming of the oceans which has always occurred over the melinia as well. Coral reefs are limestone, one of the most effective water filters known. In fact, all the limestone on the planet came from coral reefs. And the ole girl is still kickin after all these years.
  7. I love the Osso Buco, filet and the Pork Belly and will never miss the Ahi Tuna appetizer plate. Not much for pasta except lasagna which they don't do.
  8. Yep, for a lot less money, I like to walk on with my purse over my shoulder, easy peasy and since we check in on the first time slot, our luggage is always waiting for us at our door when the halls open.
  9. I see you've reached Virginia, just about the dregs of Tropical Storm Earl. He didn't pose any threat, so party on ya'll! Another depression is coming across which would be called Fiona if she develops. But they don't think it'll be a problem either.
  10. I'll be watching sailaway Radio! Yeeha! Wow what a dreary day, but any cruise day is a great day, right?!
  11. I already tried that, waited for a couple weeks with no results and my up bid was by $25pp. Finally gave up and canceled our bid. I'm happy with the location we're at, central just off the Centrum within steps of R Bar...all is well. And I have more $$ to spend.
  12. The whole point is this kid wants to go by himself with no one 21 or over anywhere on the ship. THAT is not allowed as PCUR points out. And some cleaning supplies seem to enjoy being nasty, it's inevitable. And yes, said supplies are still on my ignore list, so probably shouldn't even go there.
  13. Chops is my least favorite right now. For a really upscale dining venue I recommend Park 150, for a fun time-Izumi's Hibachi show. Lately, I loved the Ahi Tuna appetizer (nobody else seemed interested at our table so I ate the whole plate!) 🤫 in Giovanni's along with the filet and Pork Belly. And the Osso Bucco is pretty good also. Last time there they did not offer Lasagna.boohoo
  14. I provided my Hubs document on our first cruise with Royal over 25 years ago....she didn't ask for it, I shoved it over the counter at her and we have never been asked to provide it again, don't remember if they photocopied it or not.
  15. You'd be surprised how many times you were within a few feet of sharks on the beach on your many cruises. If you go in the ocean, they are there. I had a shark fisherman down in Cape San Blas, Florida tell me, sharks ALWAYS patrol the sand bars only yards from the beach. They are not really that interested in people, but there is always a chance they will bite. We were very careful not to venture beyond the first sand bar after that. Some have probably looked twice at all of us! He ought to know, he catches a couple every day. He was pulling in one about 15' long when we stopped to watch and talk to him.
