  1. Are you able to expand on how changing the menu's the way they have is going to help the wait staff be quicker ?
  2. I personally would prefer Early to seat in the 5:45-6:15 range. It may not seem a big difference to some , but the extra hour is a lot for us as we find ourselves cutting pooltime short at the end of the afternoon to go get ready for dinner. If there was a functional "MY time"option I would definitely choose it but not after what I have seen recently The Steak on both ships ( ordered multiple times ) , were horrid cuts , so thin they looked hammered out like a chicken parm or something.... Very disappointing ! Cheers
  3. Unless you consider yourself a "foodie" I wouldn't go into it with a negative attitude . However if you do consider yourself a Foodie , then I wouldn't even recommend you hit the MDR .
  4. Can you provide more info on this lunch? Specialty/MDR ?
  5. Something DRASTICALLY wrong with this . They need to find a solution to their disastrous dining mayhem . Yes , that's as nicely as I can put it . 5:15 is generally earlier than most want , but going to MTD is not an option as far as I have witnessed , so we're stuck Cheers
  6. He must often be confused because in my experience I have rarely seen my attendant as the one that delivered my luggage
  7. That is the key ! I don't like to "give in" when wronged , but if I could have back the hundreds maybe thousands of hours that I've spent on the phone arguing/being transferred/on hold/ disconnected.. start all over, I may have a few extra years left in me ! Good luck !
  8. As someone who values the seemingly lost art of at least trying to have your kids well mannered and behaved I loved hearing some of the ideas you threw forward here . Good on ya Mine are now 24 and 21 and while far from perfect we did our best Cheers
  9. Switching to MTD will be a crapshoot in my opinion . Aside from trying to ensure your large table , Earliest reservations are usually for 6:45 , and generally the earliest spots fill up quickly . Only other option is to wait in standby with no res , but that's never gonna fly with a party of 10. Considering your party size , I think your hands are tied looking for a better outcome . We hate eating that early as well , and late is too late . FWIW with the early you can show up at the late end of seating (a bit past 5:30) and you won't have any problems . Cheers
  10. Ya , a few passing comments to wait staff , but in most instances unfortunately there is very little they can do ( though they will try their best ). I'm not willing to waste my time returning a steak that is just a subpar steak , to find what will likely arrive being another subpar steak . I'll just eat what I have and be glad I'm fortunate enough to be there . The survey ratings were low for sure though . Now as horrible as my wifes meal was we definitely should have said domething and got something else... But we didn't . I would feel differently about what I would accept if eating at specialty Cheers
  11. Cape Liberty in the Fall/Winter is going to be unpredictable . Fall weather in the NE is going to be windier as it is , then throw hurricanes and tropical storms into the mix. They will be harder to get around when sailing S from NJ , hence why occasionally they actually reroute to a NE/Canada itinerary. We actually returned to NJ in hurricane force winds in 2018 . We were 12 hrs delayed getting to the port as they deemed it too windy to dock .In May you are no more likely to run into issues sailing out of NJ as you would be sailing out of Florida . JMHO Cheers
  12. Just back from a 4Nt sailing on Freedom followed by 7Nt on Harmony and with all the recent talk of changes to the MDR I figured I'd share my observations . Firstly I was thrilled on Embarkation to find out that I actually had a table assignment as I was supposed to . This broke the streak from my last 3 cruises of arriving to find out that my Early assignment I was booked for was non existent , so that was a good start . Had 2 completely different experiences on the 2 ships. Firstly Servers ; as always were excellent, Although , for some reason I did find the assistants not as attentive as they used to be , but the waiter seems to pick up the slack. Not sure if the assistants are doing more behind the scenes , as this seems to be more of a trend lately. Food Quality ; Freedom seemed a bit more hit or miss than Harmony . We're not really fussy eaters at all and I don't think we have ever not eaten what is in front of us , so this was a first to have something this bad , but DW had a chicken Parm on Freedom that was horrible. Looked like it came out of a frozen dinner box . Overall , food on Harmony was a step up , with the exception of steaks. The cuts on both ships are almost embarrassing . I have also given up on what used to be a favorite , the Prime Rib . When it comes to Beef the Tenderloin seems the only sure hit , but you better ask for extra as the portion is child size . Serving policy; On freedom everything was brought 1 at a time if ordering multiple apps/entrees. On Harmony I ordered multiple apps every night and they were always brought together , however when I wanted to surf and turf on lobster night was told it was 1 at a time . MTD ; ...The lines stretched around the corner and down the hall. Should definitely be renamed to TTD..(Their Time Dining) Overall still enjoy the dining experience. I realize Food and Dining experience is very subjective . These were obviously my observations only . One other thing to note . On Wonder last winter the 2 tops were so close you had to put your A$$ on someones table to squeeze through to your seat . This was not the case this time around. Cheers
  13. On our trip we just returned from we had a letter in our stateroom on night 3 stating that someone was still missing a piece of luggage and asking everyone to make sure they didn't have it . If I had someone elses luggage for 3 days I'm betting I would have realized the clothes weren't fitting just right before that ! Cheers
  14. yeah , there's definitely a trade off for the convenience , but with all the troubles (with the airlines much more than the cruise lines) , we have gone this way exclusively for the past few trips. It is nice to not have to wonder whether your bag is gonna make it to final destination. Have never lost any but have had them disappear for a few hours and got them back eventually . If I lived where you lived I would think differently for sure ! We pulled it off on the 19 day trip we just returned from Cheers
  15. An option that works even better for me is travelling only with carry ons . Only a couple times has my wife grabbed my bag by accident ! 😏 Cheers
  16. The other thing that seems to be missed here is that the porters have no connection to RCCL. So laying blame on RCCL due to porter issues is misguided
  17. You may have been joking , Don't believe they all were Cheers
  18. Not sure why you aren't seeing current 7 day sailing . It is in the app (Oct.16-23) Go to your profile , Go to bottom of page and click to add another cruise .Then select browse our ships , Then Navigator ... Voila ! Cheers
