It’s much better earlier in the season Rachel. I Was there on April 9th a few years ago and despite being the only ship in that day it was still busy in Fira and extremely busy in Oia. I Don’t think I’d like it any later in the season.

Yes it is supposed to be regional but from what I can gather it is dependant on the dictates of head office, which is either in Seattle or Miami depending on which information you believe, It’s not like some lines where the chef goes to the local market and buys local produce and then has free reign. What a shame that corporate don’t have the same faith in their chefs that we do.

I Doubt it’s improved. On my last SS cruise the “voices” were performing their shows to a very appreciative 6 or 7 people in the Venetian lounge nightly. Only once did they venture out to the Panorama. Maybe the 6 had called it a night. It was on Summer solstice and at the northernmost point of our Alaskan journey so they could have taken advantage of the packed Panorama lounge but they just banged out a couple of Elton Johns less memorable ditties to hum along to and retired. I’ve only sailed SS twice but I must admit I was a little bemused that I haven’t yet seen on either cruise any sort of entertainment poolside for either a sail away or on a sea day. I Suppose that a line of loungers occupied by paperbacks can be a tough crowd though.

Yay! Day trip to Antarctica booked 28th Jan 🙂

It’s the luck of the draw. On our Muse cruise in Alaska 2019 (June 18-28) we had amazing weather with some days around 26-27 so it got plenty of use then, the hot tubs more so on the cooler days. Hope you have an amazing time.
