  1. Dom Perignon at $1.50 a bottle is cheaper than even Alibaba in Marmaris sells it for. Was it a particular vintage?
  2. I Concur fully with what Stumbles said. You are more likely to encourage your Sommelier to donate a kidney to a worthy cause than share an included list. There is one there but most would rather throw themselves overboard before they share it. The Coinnoisseurs list is a little less elusive for obvious reasons. Im happy to confirm though that despite the Costeau not being to everybodies taste it certainly tastes great with Foie Gras.
  3. Welcome back M. We did miss your vices while you were away.
  4. Haha, tread very Caerphilly indeed. We survived it all ok thanks Jeff. Not an easy time but I'd never complain when so many have lost an awful lot more than I have. I Did a solo trip to India in Jan and had the best experience ever. I Have missed you around here. I Hope you, Mrs Jeff and Helga are all doing well. How are you bearing up against that monterous haul of Champagne you nabbed?
  5. It would be a good lump of farmhouse Cheddar for me. I Thinks it’s a custom you only find in Yorkshire and North Wales.
  6. They’d be perfect with a nice bit of cheese Jeff.
  7. You might have been right the first time Lola 🙂
  8. Top shelf is still top shelf. They seem just a little more free and easy in la dame by my experience, suggesting a glass of champagne or 2 whilst perusing the menu, offering extremely good included wines that are very well paired and again suggesting a nice Cognac to end a wonderful evening. Nothing that you can’t find elsewhere if you know what to ask for but in la dame the service and suggestions are much more pro-active.
  9. Well it was for One Night Only 🙂 I Hope its not too boring Happy, I Will edit it down further when time allows. Some of the musical pairings are a little cryptic 🙂
  10. My partner owns his own TA and is yet to find out who their rep is 4 years later. They have tried to find out and SS reckon there is one but nobody is quite sure who it is and the promised phone call from them never happens. Your agent is very lucky.
  11. SS Account managers are slightly rarer than Hens teeth and there are less reported sightings of these mystical creatures than there are of the Loch Ness monster.
  12. I Don’t think I shared the link of my full holiday video here. It is a little self indulgent but anyone planning a trip to this incredible place might find it useful.
  13. haha, it wasnt a highlight but I'm glad I did it. I'm 49 and 12 quarters btw.
  14. Perhaps Champagne and caviar waiting on your Verandah when you return from an excursion?
  15. That looks like a fantastic itinerary, the first week is some of what Ive just done but in Reverse, Mine ended at Agra. Shimla is one I had to save for my next trip out there. If youre interested I did do a little holiday video of the trip.
  16. And Conwy Valley is looking beautiful too. I Didnt get a poorly tummy once luckilly. I Only ate in the Hotel's, avoided all street food (which was a shame) and took all the usual precautions, bottled water only, no ice in drinks, push lift buttons with my knuckle, avoid handrails, sanitise hands after handling money or touching anything etc. I'm a chilli wuss so asked for "zero chilli" in my meals and was mostly obliged. Where are you visiting on the tour?
  17. Oh yes, I'm not sure you'd want to many glasses of the fine Australian fighting wine though.
  18. Hello there, also from a beautifully Sunny North Wales here. I'm just back from a Golden Triangle tour in January, I Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time on SS too.
  19. Like I said we all have opinions. I'm not sure where you would find a Restaurant on land where you could enjoy a 6/7 course meal, unlimited Champagne, wine, Cognac etc for $60 a head though.
  20. Tanqueray is the standard pour. Fine by me 🥳
  21. Whereas we loved it and ate there 4 nights out of 10. It's a good job we're all different.
  22. You will see that there are as many opinions as there are people that have eaten there. It all depends on your expectations. From my experience the food is only very slightly more incredible than elsewhere on the ship, perhaps presented with a little more flourish. As people have said previously, most of the dishes are available in other venues at various times. It is more about the experience and the Service. Dining there does feel like an occasion and the Service we have found to be excellent, as you find in most places onboard but is certainly a little elevated. So as long as you don't expect miracles to be done with the same ingredients that they have elsewhere on the ship and don't mind paying what is (let's be honest here) about 1/3 of what you would pay ashore for a similar experience youll enjoy it.
  23. Or carry on blindly believing that your SS cruise consultant despite taking your deposit at record speeds and can never be reached again has your best interests at heart. Horses for courses.
  24. I Didn't say I wasn't concerned, I was merely pre-empting the overdue official line. I Apologise for my British sense of humour, I know its unfathomable to some.. My passport is out there too.
