Sort of same. I used to only book obstructed outside then previous CVP talked me into Plaza deck outside never went back. Talked me into balcony, repeat .... tried minisuite and discovered my preferred is balcony with sofa. Can't imagine downgrading to an outside & don't even respond to move down offers

Here's some bad news: while refaring a cruise yesterday my CVP says Princess is migrating towards all deposits being non-refundable like in UK!!!

I'm claustrophobic and would cancel before booking an inside room.

😲 did NOT know this!! 1 more reason to only book a specific room with refundable deposit (if they omit Lisbon from my 2024 TA I most definitely will cancel & be thankful I'm not in UK. Love the country but not their PCL T&Cs)

Don't those apps connect on the internet not intranet? If you wish to contact someone onboard then you can use their chat function as long as the other person accepts your 'invitation' and adds you to their group. That's what I've done If you wish to contact someone not onboard you need the internet (I can't even contact my CVP via Princess.com onboard, maybe because it conflicts with O.N.E?)

Nor do I take it lightly. Hoping to not have a boot on .... slows down my walking but it is 2 months away so 🤞

Wow. Great idea @cr8tiv1! I'm ordering one as I've got a 1 hr 50 min change in JFK. I get lost in big airports so having a little short of 2 hrs is daunting IMHO

Did I misread?? Aren't you comparing suites to suites?? (I think you meant 'there' not 'here' but this 'can only afford balcony' cruiser bowing out now. Nothing wrong with suites expecting more courtesy than the rest of us)

Thanks for the warning but mine's still there. Fwiw all my insurances are going up except homeowners & auto (umbrella & earthquake up miniscule amt but pet insurance up 30%!). Yep increase insurance cost is just an ordinary thing

Apparently I spent too much time near someone who was positive while sitting in the piazza. Now that's info I appreciate. (I tested negative) FWIW I've never had it despite taking care of family members who were positive. But I like knowing I've been 'exposed'

Exactly! I like the medallion but honestly flip back to the old Ocean Concierge when onboard half the time .... the one used with the medallion in 2019 as it's more user friendly. Prefer (& use) the web version (https://royal.princess.com/homepage) but I prefer getting the medallion at home .... back in 2019 I had to get it at the port.

Yes @SCX22 for the past 2 yrs its been cheaper for solos on Princess than other lines.

I almost always book a midship balcony, have only booked 1 mini-suite (2022). Apologies. But yeah, not sure when your voyage was in 2019 but I wasn't able to get it on my Australia 12/2019 one or since restart. And, as all things change, doesn't matter anyway. Haven't been able to get it downunder since restart. And I can get it on every other voyage

Must be a change because I order the starter water package ever since it began and don't recall an issue getting it for our NZ voyage (RT from SYD) back in 2019. I would have ordered in Personalizer well before leaving home. I've not had an NZ embarkation yet, just Sydney & Melbourne Dec 2019 (that one went to NZ & unable to preorder water). Plus a repeat from Sydney (same cruise as OP). So it shows up as an option on your upcoming NZ cruise? Wow. Wondering why Australia & NZ are so different.

@MN Syrup Cruiser I'm also on that cruise and I cannot even get water delivery (dz normally for $7.08) BECAUSE it is an Australian embarkation. It's always been that way.

I wait in the piazza for items on the app not available at Slice, Salty Dog Grill, IC or buffet. Like Key Lime, good pizza (Slice is soggy & Alfredos is $15+ gratuities but I'll do it), or the Greek salad. Yes they have the components for it on the buffet but the only time I made one it required jumping between 3 areas to get everything which seemed to be irritating to others. Or just order on the app
