I have my favorite midship decks: Caribe on Grand class / E410-E425 on Royal class /don't like Crown Class but that would be midship on Caribe. Only took me 30 cruises to figure that out. I book early & mark no upgrade. actually got upgraded into those which is how I found them. E424/425 or E409/410 are better than a mini-suite

The objective is to hook new cruisers and have them strive to become higher loyalty tier cruisers as highest tier cruisers migrate up to more expensive (ie: club class) bookings to keep that exclusive feeling

This is just what I saw on 3 of my 4 post covid cruisers:: They have a new 'game.' Spend $100+ in a single transaction and get a ticket for a drawing on the 2nd to last night (which turned out to be more merch). I was stunned when I saw the vast number of ppl in the drawing, huge number of tickets in each of their hands, and the knowledge that a friend of mine (her 2nd cruise) got a Tanzaniate & diamond ring / pendant/ earrings / bracelet set received 1 ticket for that effy purchase. Wow just wow. No wonder onboard sales are up^^^ Me .... I was at that 'every shirt for $5 table' buying 1. Let's see: Elite = $5 2nd cruiser = over 5k Who does CCL want to return to any ship anywhere in fleet more?

Can I like this 1000%!!!! I reevaluate what CFAs say, only listen to fee based CFPs (actually Schwab gives me a free one who is salaried there), and then do exactly what I think. Often disagreeing with them. But hey it's served me quite well. But I do watch talking heads on TV for a good laugh (his initials are JC)

I have repeatedly asked for the source and it has never been provided. It's one thing for an analyst capable of dissecting & analyzing the current quarterly report; it's another thing for someone on a non-investment chat site unaware of how to read that report to circulate another unconfirmed person's qualifications opinion as verifiable truth. I don't know Cruising Deacon's qualifications. They might be a CFA. Or they might be an ordinary pedestrian investor afraid as they see a normal market correction. I also don't know another poster's qualification who asked if LEAPS and shorts were the same thing. But I'm pretty sure they aren't an options trader. All I'm saying is Please be aware of the qualifications of the person you are taking investment advice from. This board is a great source for cruising advice / a lousy source of investment advice

I initially booked Royal Princess to Queensland. That was canceled and I insisted on FCD back per useless CVP suggestion. Then I booked Sydney -> HK. Then that canceled and my current CVP said let them cancel / let her transfer / done in a day. They're losing money on me Now Queensland is back on Royal Princess next fall .... not too bad. My preferred room is also available. Need to have her put THAT on hold too

Not me. I'm ecstatic. I was on 18 day Majestic Princess Australia to Hong Kong March 2023. Not happening. But the replacement offer is 21 day Royal Princess Australia to Yokohama. Normally Japan is pricey. I'm now there 9 days for less than a 7 day Japan cruise. But I've got the same room, same price, 18 days instead of 21 with just 1 FCD on it, owe the same amount (shh don't mention that I rolled 75FCC out), still 150 OBC, added Specialty Dining, what's not to like??

Also shifting retained ships within fleet (PCL -> POAU, at least 1 Costa now sailing under Carnival but keeping everything on it Costa to make it easier to shift back as needed) to maximize #s on each vessel

Can't be that as it hasn't started yet. Deposit amounts w/o FCD are up. Which is why I have 2 on hold until I buy more FCD Sunday

Yep. That's the case for the recent cancelations (inc mine) and the suggested replacements. I can see all other voyages. My suggested replacement is in 2024. Waiting to hear from CVP if the FCC can be used on it. Usually replacements were 2022 & 2023 but this is Australia-> Asia (now Japan)

I lost 1/2"!! That might not seem like a lot but I only measure my waist and I'm happy with it. Hoping to simply maintain on my cruise. That would be quite an accomplishment. Then I'm home forc8 weeks to continue getting healthier.

Kinda looks major!! So the question becomes: Is this something that can be handled in the 1 month April 2023 drydock? Will it be worth it in the long run or is this a ship that they are thinking of off-loading??
