  1. I have come to just accept the fact that you will find *someone* that lives to complain. They're not happy unless they can dump on whatever the subject might be!
  2. No question...just envious! That's an itinerary we have yet to do. Some day...
  3. In the Travel section of your Cruise Personalizer look at the area regarding transfers. You should see a drop-down field where you see the FLL transfer, allowing you to select the one to MIA.
  4. Yes...according to Don Terris bluetooth speakers have been banned.
  5. Welcome to Cruise Critic! For a while the app was having issues with the whole Medallion Net purchase routine, mainly centered around it not recognizing the user's Captain's Circle loyalty level.
  6. LOL! I guess I should come back and explain my posting a bit. This was the forum posting equivalent of satire and "howling at the moon"! Of course Princess is not going to come up with anything that is actually helpful...it won't do anything to generate revenue. The core group here on CC (those that have been posting for several years) have become rather cynical towards Princess and the (questionable) actions/decisions that have been made during this time period. (Don't get me wrong...I'm NOT out to TRASH Princess here...but I think most of you know what I'm talking about.) Spot on! Yes...given the myriad of issues that most of us have seen with the app itself...I firmly believe that any guide would be inaccurate right out of the gate! I am quite certain that there are many relatively new CruiceCritic members (or those new to Princess) that have no idea what the rest of us have seen over the past 3 or 4 years. They don't understand why we are so critical of John Padgett's "baby" (the app). @SalishSea...Welcome to Cruise Critic! As far as an email containing what you are referring to...I have never received this. I've seen it on the website. It falls far short of what is really needed by most first-timers. We have been on 6 cruises since the restart. Perhaps this email is something brand new? Yes...my original post was meant in the vein of sarcasm. It is very different from most of the types of posts that I make. We'll just call it wishful sarcasm! We can dream!
  7. Well, sorry about that! I was getting "stubby tags" using their print button...and just on a whim thought I would try what I suggested. It worked so I (obviously erroneously) thought this would be the solution for others.
  8. We will be doing the same itinerary as you...but in May! Not sure why you are having an issue with spa services. They should show up in your Cruise Personalizer. I just checked one of my upcoming bookings and they are there. Can't help with the Thermal Suite...have never done that. Casino will open once they are in international waters...either 11 or 12 miles out. People have stated that they have been able to purchase a single day (or more than one) once on board.
  9. Maybe I'm really "missing the boat"...but it just baffles me why Princess doesn't publish a "road map" to navigating the system using the Medallion App and what is needed to become "Green Lane". There are even questions as to what Green Lane is! We see so many questions from newbies and cruisers who are just coming back to sail with Princess that have not cruised since the advent of "the app". Am I just unaware? Does one actually exist? (If so...it must not be very well publicized. I've been all over the Princess site just so I can be familiar with my "go to" cruise line. I hope I just haven't overlooked it!)
  10. I've never heard of anything called a "transit pass" in regards to Princess....
  11. There are some older threads here on CC that say you can purchase (even pre-order) the book through Cruise Personalizer...but that was pre-pandemic. No idea if they are still offering it in this manner...but you should be able to see it for yourself if still true.
  12. Within about 2 weeks or so you should see more events showing up in JourneyView. Shows are usually 7:30/9:30...but sometimes deviate a bit for various itineraries. You've given us no info about your ship/sailing so all you get will be "generalities".
  13. If you don't show up with your medallions (hey, it happens!) they will give you replacements. Don't stress over this...especially since you said you have a transfer! They know you're coming and will be allowed onboard as soon as you show your docs/passport.
  14. All cruise line excursions of that type are always "deliver to airport". As others have said...either private tour or Uber/Lyft back to ship from the airport. If you go the private tour route you may very well end up with the same tour company that provides the excursion for the ship.
  15. Princess has a shuttle transfer for $29 pp that goes to MIA.
  16. If you do not receive medallions prior to your cruise (for whatever the reason) they will give you replacements when you check in. Don't stress over this...it's MINOR! As far as an accessory I cannot comment on that because I always just keep it in my pocket.
  17. I don't think anybody is going to say *anything* about holding one seat next to you for a spose/traveling partner. It's those that try to hold half a row that get me riled up!
  18. If you get to the port early enough to where they are "controlling" access...just tell them you are in a suite. They may direct you to a waiting area (for suite guests) or send you right onto the ship.
  19. I highly doubt that it's going to get any kind of usable signal. Yes, *supposedly* the ship can provide "cellular at sea" but you REALLY don't want to even *look* at those prices for telephone conversations. If it were to connect to this and somehow get charged back to you...you're looking at a king's ransom in charges. Just convert it over to your iPhone instead while on the ship.
  20. Yes...NCL Cruise Lines...not Princess. While that particular host normally focuses on Princess she deviated a bit and spoke of NCL. I occasional sail NCL and have never had to make reservations for a show...I wonder how long it will be before those loyalists "storm the castle"?
  21. Yes...I ran across it being used by a couple of tour operators in Europe. It just makes sense to use a communications medium that is cross-platform.
  22. Count yourself very lucky as far as your bank's policy is concerned! It is WAY more expensive through our local bank. Foreign currency has to be "ordered" from a larger city (usually Atlanta) and ours has a hefty "processing fee" tacked on. You have to really get a LOT for that fee to be minimized as a percentage of the total. If you have a credit card that does not charge foreign transaction fees (getting more common) then you can just hit a local ATM and get just what you need. Everybody has to make their own plans...there is not a "one size fits all" answer when it comes to this. (Just my opinion!)
  23. My son (iPhone user) put me onto WhatsApp since I am an Android user. It works great for us. When the internet just won't support a video or audio call we just text. Always seems to work. He's really the only one that I need to communicate with while we are cruising but DW uses iPhone so she is good in that department. The main downside of WhatsApp is that anybody you want to contact has to have the app as well.
  24. Same here! We were on the first leg of her last voyage (Panama Canal) before pandemic and she got recalled from the World Cruise. Then...they sold her to Azamara. It's still available to cruise (Azamara Onward) but it's at least twice the price now!
  25. Well that's a real bummer! I would have thought the same as you...original price.
