  1. I feel the same way about football. I'll watch it with a group of friends but really have no interest. I feel so un-American. 😆 Maybe if Taylor Swift is at a game, I might. (joking!) Once again, my Father-in-law would watch it from noon to midnight every Sunday no matter who was playing.
  2. For a small fee, Royal will decorate your room & send you some sweets. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/royalgifts/celebrations
  3. Try watching golf all day long with your father-in-law and two brother-in-laws. I mean, really watch it , glued to the TV all day Sunday. Watching grass grow is more exciting. I once asked what they found so fascinating about watching golf & the answer was because they enjoy playing golf. I replied: "I love eating steak and drinking beer but I'm not going to spend 4 hours in front of a TV watching other people eat steak and drink beer". 😅😅 Yeah, they didn't find it funny either.
  4. My 2 favorite - and only - sports I watch are hockey and baseball. Go figure, the worlds fastest game and the worlds slowest game. I enjoy both but for different reasons. Hockey is my favorite & probably for the same reasons you are a hockey fan. The speed, the passing, the (now rare) big hits. I even don't mind the occasion, well timed fight but was never a fan of the bench-clearing brawls of yesteryear. Every goal is a big deal & you literally can not blink or look away for you might miss something. With baseball, sure you stil have your favorite team and players that your root for. But a slower, more relaxed pace gives you time to hang out, eat, drink & socialize. You focus only on the battle between pitcher & hitter and who will win that battle. Over and Over. Will he hit a home run, w bunt a guy into scoring position, steal a base or will the pitcher strike him out. Having said all that, I almost never watch baseball on TV unless its playoffs.
  5. Nor does it have a retractable roof like some of the smaller ships. But it does have padded loungers!
  6. Post here when you can as that will be a HUGE COMFORT for all of us here, even is it's not the regular routine topics but sadly, your "new" regular routine. Share as much or as little as you like and prayers that you will return to the "old" regular routine sooner rather than later.
  7. Just last week it was 84 degrees. The AC was running & I actually went to the beach, probably for the last time until next summer, at least here in NY. I meant to post pictures when I got back but then got lazy. It's 68 degree today but feels cooler, lots of clouds blocking out the sun. Tonight will dip into the low 40's. This weekend will be damp & rainy, with temps maybe reaching into the low 50's. Might need to turn in the heat this weekend, at least for a few hours here and there.
  8. I see someone already created a thread. The change was made to "assist in the refueling process"? Not sure what that means, other than they are trying to conserve fuel due to price increase. It's only a matter of time before someone posts that the only reason they booked that cruise was to visit family & friends in St. Thomas that they haven't seen in 20 years and it's not fair, Royal is deceitful & they want their money back. LOL.
  9. Heat on? It's not Nov 1st yet.😱 Your calendar must be broke. 😉😉 It helps that my house has a nice, sunny southern exposure so it warms up nicely during the day & retains the heat thru most of the night. Those early, 45 degree morning are tough though. And I've mellowed with age. I'll turn the heat on for a bit to take the chill out of the house anytime after Oct 15th or first frost.
  10. Stay strong & stay safe. I know that's it easy for me to write as I don't have to endure the endless cycle of unnecessary violence. Unfathomable to me on many levels but as you can see, there are many here concerned about you & your family. Hang in there, you are in our thoughts and prayers.
  11. Is this for the wind farm that is supposed to be built off the coast by Atlantic City but visible for miles up & down the coast? I thought it was in perpetual delays. The same company wants to build similar wind farms of the coast of Long Island and (I think) Rhode Island.
  12. "Friday Night Lights", the New England version.🙂 I'm sure you're not the NE version of Buddy Garrity, tho. If you've never seen the show, it's a compliment.
  13. That would be my guess as well, with Hero a close 2nd.
  14. That's one way to keep young teens out of the Solarium. Last thing they want to see are people their parents age engaging in a little PDA. 😁😁 😉😇 I kid, I kid.
  15. Coincidentally, I was wearing this "Old Guys Rule" t-shirt the other day. Not sure if John Wayne actually said that but it seems like he would.
  16. I liked Giriadi as a player. Always called a good game, including David Cone's perfect game. Known more for his defensive skills, he did have a few bit hits including the game-winning, World Series-clinching Game 6 in 1996 against one of the best pitchers at the time, Greg Maddux. As a manager, meh. It seemed like the first couple of years were good but he was too rigid and by-the-book. A pitcher could have a shutout but as soon as he reached the "magical" 100-pitch count, Giradi would always pull him out & turn it over to the bullpen. Blew more than a few games that way. Plus, it seemed like he was very uptight and I think that translated into a uptight clubhouse.
