I am more of a "Anybody But The Astro's" fan. 😁. Ironically, when my step daughter lived in Houston, the Astro's were my 2nd favorite team. But then they routinely started beating the Yankees in the playoffs and she moved back to NY so.... Plus, there are a couple of ex-Yankee players on the Tex Rangers - Jordan Montgomery, Nathan Eovaldi, and Aroldris Chapman. The first 2, the Yankee never should have let go while Chapman - that's the worst nightmare to see him pitching against the Astro's in a save situation. They have his number.

That's been my experience as well. Back in the tradition dining only days, the early seating always filled up before the late seating. And when MTD came out, the "middle" slots were reserved first leaving only the really early & really late slots open. Fortunately, I'm a late eater so it actually worked to my advantage in both instances. There might have been a instance or two when the late MTD slots were too late for whatever event was happening that night. In those cases, I'd either eat in WJ or specialty restaurant. EDIT: Sorry, I replied before I saw the subtle shift. Just wanted to add I'm only giving my experience, no hard facts or guess work involved. Moving on to see what fun drinks will be consumed tonight. -
Winning over a skeptical first time cruiser
HBE4 replied to Coldwake's topic in Royal Caribbean International
So basically a first time cruiser. 😀 Just kidding, I took my first cruise when I was in my mid-40's and by day 3, I turned to my wife & asked why haven't we be doing this our entire lives. Booked another cruise right away for 6 months later. Of course, I have friends that I was sure would've loved to cruise and were bored by day 3 or said "glad we did it but it's one and done for us". I don't think you can go wrong with either option. Your family with be Wow'd or not on either ship. If you think 7 days would be too long or the Wonder too overwhelming, then the Indy is not a bad alternative. My only advice would be to "downgrade" to a regular balcony cabin to save some money to make it more cost competitive. You can always put that savings towards the next cruise. 🙂 -

One of my favorite spots. I like the quietness and lack of crowds. Never had a chair hog issue. The only downsides is the "long" walk to the bar and sometimes it can get a bit breezy, especially if the ship is cruising at high speed. -
I've only been to Bermuda twice, both times sailing out of Cape Liberty around Memorial Day on a 9 day cruise. I remember sail away being gray and chilly enough to need long pants and jackets but by the time we got to Bermuda, sunny and warm. I was okay with the water temp but a few others felt it was a bit on the cool side.

Winning over a skeptical first time cruiser

It does set a pretty high standard that might be tough to beat. Unless they want to go smaller and more intimate - without the kiddo's - as a second sailing. -
The guy on the other thread with the first time cruisers? Independence. He confirmed it later in the thread but it was still easy to figure out as he referred to it as an older ship that was recently amp'd. Neither of which applies to IC.

You will definitely get that reaction on Wonder (and any Oasis-class ship). There is so much to see and do in the ship, it's impossible to do it all in one week. I haven't sailed Indy but I've sailed her sister ship Liberty and find it a nice size ship for a first time cruisers. But if the $$$ value is the same, I'll always opt for longer cruise. Is this also your first time cruising? What are the port-of-calls? -

I love Peanut Butter. I can eat it every day (I don't), any time of day, on anything and with anything. However, a drink it is not.🤮 -

In this context, there is no "Shouldn't I" on a trip. The correct answer is "Should I". Always. -
Attended the NY Rangers home opener last night with my nephew. Rangers won 2-1. Despite the low score, it was a pretty exciting & well played game. That is until a "slight" pushing match at the end of the game. Every home opener, every fan gets a free T-Shirt. I think I have 6 or 7 now. Edit to add: Not really following baseball playoff since the Yankees are not playing but also saw the Texas Rangers beat the Houston Astros. Always nice to see the Yankees nemesis lose. Good night all around for teams named Rangers. 🙂

Agreed. Part of "researching" a cruise is to come to these forums to seek recent, real world experience. Especially helpful when trying to verify information you may have received from other sources.
