  1. And once you have found one that works well for you, stick with him or her.
  2. Yes, that is what I figured, quite different from a ship of 3000+ passengers.
  3. The TA we use books cruise air with no extra fee. He realizes he in a service industry, and it is competitive.
  4. Is that a small ship that would not have to tender?
  5. I think the former Ocean Princess on which we sailed a British Isles cruise was just under 700. It was small and a very nice experience, especially actually getting to meet and know fellow passengers and even a chance to have long conversations with staff.
  6. Who says you pay much more? At least from cruise lines, the cruise line is paying the commission.
  7. 🤞 for you, and I hope you do the same for us. We are on the August 6th cruise. We will be clearing the ship so you can board.
  8. 3200 is not a monstrosity of the seas, but it hardly qualifies as small. They actually already built the Prima (the Viva is in the Prima class) at about the same size. Yes it is smaller than the ships they had been building, the Breakaway class and the Epic, but hardly what anyone would call small.
  9. So then the question becomes what kind of evidence do you like?
  10. Not the one you quoted, but he did say the return flight. That can be on a different airline than the flight out. I know it is that way for us.
  11. If empirical evidence showed it to be near 100%, would probability be acceptable to you then? 😉
  12. LOL, for our Canada Air flights, I was told we could not choose until 48 hours before without paying extra. I had been schmoozing with the agent and had told him we were going on a cruise after the flight, and would be celebrating our anniversary on the cruise. He then said hold on, let me see what I can do. He the asked if we wanted a window or an aisle, and after I checked with DW, he came back and said he could assign us seats at no charge, and he did,
  13. I would go as far to say a probability as opposed to a possibility. I think @chengkp75 would be a better source for that information,
  14. That's a good question. Does anyone know if it was ever enabled? is there anyone who can say they actually used it in the past? And if so, how long ago? I guess that's a lot of questions emanating from your single question. 🤣 Oh, and thank you for the discussion of what it might have meant other than it was once a working function on cc.
  15. However, the problem in Isafjordur is different. Unless a very small ship, you can only tender. This was supposed to be different by now, but construction is behind schedule. Other ships have chosen to tender, while NCL refuses to tender in this port.
  16. We actually have been to Iceland, at least Reykjavik by land. We have what I hope will be a very interesting private excursion booked in Isjadorfur. Really hoping we make it for that.
  17. Yes, we are on the August 6th cruise. And neither of us has a Facebook account.
  18. We'll hopefully be there in August (as I wrote in the other thread just below). I truly hope that the improvements will be completed by then, and of course the weather cooperates. Could you please post the url for the port to get further information?
  19. OK, I guess how short your cruise became made a difference as opposed to this thread which was about getting off a day or 2 early. Though they still have the cabin for the days past day 3 producing no income.
  20. OMG, what an adventure. Did the Twilight Zone music run in your head?
  21. We have had a few of those credits, but never nearly that large. As for the reverse, they underestimated the port charges, I have read on the cc boards that they do not pass it on. They end up eating the extra charges.
  22. Yes, I should have said other ships like the Celebrity Apex are allowing ships to disembark. NCL has Isjadorfur down as a port where you dock (with Geiranger the only tender port for the cruise). I guess they do not want to lie about how you would get off the ship there, so they would rather lie about passengers being able to visit the port.😒
