  1. Yes, that is the dilemma in a nutshell. Though I am not sure it is half each way; how about a significant number want it one way and a significant number the opposite way when it comes to protocols.
  2. S t. Petersburg would be well out of the way on a Norwegian fjords cruise.
  3. Yes, and it seems some passengers get pissed off when protocols are tightened while others get pissed off when protocols are loosened.
  4. I would expect that no one really expected them to sail to St. Petersburg in 2023.
  5. Not on the same cruise, we are in August and will celebrate our wedding anniversary #46 on the sea day between Norway and Iceland.
  6. Our tour guide was also memorable and wonderful. She confided in us that she had gone through all she needed to open her own company, which she did this next year, SPB tours.
  7. As I wrote in another post, it was not included in the description for this excursion. It is ok with me that you liked it, as they say "different strokes for different folks".
  8. It is one thing if the excursion description includes time for shopping, but this was totally different. There was no mention at all about rugs and high pressure sales pitches.
  9. Thanks. i was just about to come back to say I found it. It took a while as I started on 20, and worked my way down.
  10. Could you tell me what deck it is on so I do not have to go through all of them? TIA
  11. If I am not mistaken, the Netherlands would be a fourth country requiring vaccinations
  12. I was also wondering how you remove prepaid gratuities?
  13. Just to add to this thread, Barcelona is a great port for sightseeing.
  14. I feel sorry for the guides in St. Petersburg who have now lost their livelihood. And it was in St. Petersburg that the first protests were of the Russian invasion of the Ukraine. It is a shame that the common folk suffer for the sins of the politicians. JMHO.
  15. And you wonder why they still list it. Do they really think that people do not know what is going on with Russia?
  16. The worst sales pitch forced on us was actually not on the ship, but on a HAL excursion in Turkey where we were not told we would be taken to a rug factory. DW did buy (not in the rug factory, a holder for her glasses for 1 Euro on that excursion. At one point at home, someone admired it and asked where she had bought it. And I guess the reply "Turkey" did not help them if they were looking to buy one for themselves. 😊
  17. Our TA knows we will be requesting the one day early deviation. He has actually applied for it, but it was too early for them to grant it.
  18. Same here. We have received a small credit a few times, but never an increase. I was under the impression that if there was a small increase, the cruise line ate the charge. I guess that was before they were bleeding money post Covid.
  19. I asked if business was picking up with people now cruising, and he said it was. He was hopeful that he would be able to rehire some of his agents. (He is the President of his company.) He does not have their website working yet, but hopes to. I mentioned some of the things that I have read about on cc such as the airlines mess. (I mentioned that if this was still going on next summer, we might consider cancelling.) I said how I read people called the cruise line who said call the airline. I said how I had read how people then called the airlines who said the cruise line was the TA, call them. He said then they called him, and he has spent a lot of time yelling at airline personnel. He did say that we could be pretty well assured that our Newark flights to London and from Reykjavik would be non-stop I did ask, and he was not sure if the Prima will have an internet cafe. (He did not think so.) If anyone knows for sure, I would like to know that. I asked him to check if there was a price decrease, and since he said he would have to check and get back to me if there was, and he did not, I assume our price did not go down form when we booked way back last year.
  20. Previously when these new muster procedures were being introduced, it was said by those who post on cc who have been employed in the cruise industry that the muster drill was really more for the crew than the passengers. It was the only time that they got to "herd" passengers to where they would have to go.
  21. And that is really the only thing that matters.
