  1. If you reread the header, it is how many cruise lines, not how many cruises. But some have expanded the topic to answer that question also.
  2. @dock, here is the thread I started about our cruise. click on the first part, I don't know why the second part is there.
  3. We sailed the Prima this past August, London (Southampton to Reykjavik), and thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. We did miss 2 ports. Every sailing missed Isafjordur, but hopefully by the time your cruise sails, they will have finished the dock. And we missed Brugge. According to NCL it was because of an extremely low tide. I'll try to find the thread that I posted our experience on the cruise. It will probably take longer than the edit time, so if I find it I'll quote this post.
  4. There is no reason to not have the card as physical proof.
  5. Ours was on August 13th. And at one point I figured out which anniversaries will fall on a Friday the 13th. I just calculated it again and the next one will be our 50th in 2027. (An this month has a Friday the 13th.)
  6. We booked a cruise for its itinerary which included 8 ports and only got 6. (But still a great cruise.) I think we got $14 and change each as a credit for I assume port fees. On one of the ports cancelled pre-cruise, I had bought excursions from NCL before the cruise. It was hard enough to get that money back to my credit card as the phone rep at first thought I was asking for money to compensate for the cancelled port. She kept telling me the contract allowed them to do that. She finally figured out I was asking for the excursion payment back and since it was more than 48 hours before the excursion was scheduled if we had made the port, I was entitled to the refund.
  7. And you have revealed your true identity, Steve Miller. Saw him and his band in concert years ago at Bethel Woods (the site of the original Woodstock concert) with Joe Cocker as the opening act.
  8. Yes, both Norway and Iceland were spectacular destinations. We actually sailed our first cruise to celebrate our 25th anniversary, Barcelona to Barcelona with stops in Italy, France, and Malta. Those were also wonderful ports.
  9. I think they always say 7-10 business days. That is what they said to me for a refund for an excursion we booked and then they cancelled the port. But the refund showed up much quicker, IIRC, just 2 or 3 days.
  10. No problem, I would never do that. We celebrated our 46th anniversary in August on the Prima on a sea day between Norway and Iceland. So, we do know how to treat one another.
  11. But if you bought the can of worms, there would be a VAT tax depending on where you bought it.
  12. Thanks, and even if you were there in 2010, we would not have met you as we sailed on Princess.
  13. So, reducing the DSC, either affects the crew's compensation or it does not. 🤦‍♂️ So, guest services either has or has not told passengers just reduce the DSC. 🤦‍♂️ I guess I have learned a lot from this thread. 😒 And now I do not know when I refer to my DW whether she is my DISCRETIONARY wife or my DAILY wife. 🤣
  14. @Ferry_Watcher, how many different cruise lines do you do the check in for? When we sailed out of Alaska in 2010, was that before your employment as a cruise line check in person?
  15. If you have flights booked through the cruise line, it may affect that. We used the NCL BOGO flights, and they specifically asked for our full names. And they gave them to Air Canada our outgoing flights that got us to London, but for some reason did not give them to Iceland Air for our return flight from Reykjavik. We were not able to use the airline kiosk to check in because they were missing our middle names. That is what was pointed out to us when it did not work, my DW's missing middle name. (Actually, it accepted mine without the middle name, and the airline person had no idea why that worked for me.)
  16. The one with an itinerary we want at a reasonable price.
  17. Yes, I was going to write whichever one DW and I are on and is going to the interesting itinerary we picked. You basically said the same thing.
  18. As a shareholder, I'll be happy the day they restore the dividend. But I am not holding my breath until that day.
  19. I should amend that to say it was $14 and change to each of us. And I am not sure which of the two missed ports it was for.
  20. One conclusion I think we can reasonably make is that if guest services really is advising passengers to remove the DSC, then no one on guest services is sharing the DSC.
  21. Why Oscar Meyer? They could just eat fruits and vegetables, and it would even be more healthy.
