  1. It seems no one has mentioned those circular couches are also swings. We did as I said sit on them to see what they were like, but again it would have been so much better in warm weather.
  2. How recent are you talking about? I agree the Cirque show on NCL was fantastic, but for us it was 11 years ago. I don't believe it is any longer on any of their ships. I don't agree about the included meal with the dinner theater. I do not remember it as special at all and much less choice than their main dining room's menu.
  3. Those circular couches on deck 8 sure looked like they would be fun to sit in if the weather was actually warm. We did deck walks on deck 8, and there were times when you were walking into the wind that the conditions were brutal.
  4. We were going to do that for Brugge. With my $50 off and a Latitudes discount for both of us it basically came out cheaper to do the Brugge on your own excursion than to get there from the port. But then the port was cancelled due to an extremely low low tide. 😒
  5. Or if they do see or hear it, they will still ignore it.
  6. I remember asking about this in this forum before our cruise as my hearing is so much worse than DW's. So, I thought I would share what I learned from our cruise. First, it is easy to access as there is a button on the remote that is for close captioning. Second, it works for the on demand movies and for the news channels. Third, it does not work for things like the Newlywed Game or anything else that went on on the ship. I would not expect it to. Fourth, it also does not work for things like the port talks. Now this to me is something that they could have made it work for as these are not spontaneous and should have been done by them in advance. I do not know if it worked for the safety video. That is something that it really would have been good for especially because there was a large deaf group on our cruise that were being signed to at various events.
  7. We were on the 8/6-8/17 London (Southampton) to Reykjavik cruise, and there was definitely a Newlywed Game show. We did not even get to Brugges as there was an extremely low tide. I don't suppose you stopped in Isafjordur, if you did your Prima cruise would have been the first. Mandy came up to me before one of the Syd Norman shows. I was wearing a Grateful Dead tee shirt, and she said they were her favorite group. I told her my wife bought it for me as part of a birthday present from the gift shop at the museum at Bethel Woods, the site of the original 1969 Woodstock festival. I then told her a story from my experience attending that festival back then. She said she wished she could hear more. After the last show I did tell her more, and also to Stephen. They seemed such down to earth people.
  8. And in addition you can look at the trip cost as something you can afford. It may be a total bummer to pay it and not get the benefit of the trip, but it will not break you financially. Unfortunately, uncovered medical costs can bankrupt you.
  9. I think we have reached a point where we are both in agreement with each other. The problem though is that there are some who feel invulnerable and do not realize that the risks are real.
  10. But it was a great movie based on a great book. 😊
  11. We lucked out with our Air Canada flights going out (Newark to London with a change of flight in Montreal). I had a nice conversation with the Canada Air agent on the phone.giving him our passport information and meal preferences. I mentioned we were going on a cruise and would be celebrating our 46th anniversary on the cruise. He said hold on maybe I can do something for you, and very nicely got us seat reservations on both flights.
  12. Yes, there are risks and acceptable risks. I think that is what you are saying. But I would be willing to bet that you have car insurance and homeowner's insurance. The insurance companies are in business to make money and you are probably behind with these, but still the risks need to be covered.
  13. There is a long thread about this started several days ago in the Carnival section of cruisecritic. Surprised there's no story up yet regarding couple stuck in Cozumel - Carnival Cruise Lines - Cruise Critic Community
  14. I agree that you can minimize, but I think we can also agree that you cannot totally eliminate risk. And unfortunately, the cost for a medical emergency can be catastrophic.
  15. I think the more significant change than the number of days is that they can change the charge for the airfare.
  16. You can minimize your risk, but you cannot make it go away entirely. We averted a disaster on our cruise last month. DW went to medical as she was constipated. And when we were back home, she went to her own doctor for that reason. And then soon after, she was in an ambulance, an emergency room, and finally the hospital as the reason for the constipation was a twisted bowel. If this has progressed quicker than it did, we would have found ourselves with her needing medical evacuation. And our location when she went to the medical center on this ship was a sea day between Norway and Iceland. This is not like don't rent a scooter. It would have been something we could not have avoided.
  17. New episodes are no longer on the air, but there are endless reruns on cable stations.
  18. Yup, pretty obvious. The light turned green for fix my room, and red for do not disturb.
  19. Love you right back. 😊 And when we checked into out hotel the morning before the cruise (with a room guaranteed to be ready for 3 PM) and were told that the room was ready, I told the clerk that if was not married with an anniversary coming up, I would propose to her on the spot. 🤣 Seriously, it was nice to be able to shower and rest just a bit before traveling from the hotel by the airport to London proper.
  20. And it was the pre-cruise issues and complaints that caused them to give in and reinstate the personaliser. And how did all of us ever open our cabin doors before the advent ot the personaliser or even now on ships other than Princess. 🤦‍♂️
  21. Did you tender? The captain of the Prima either would not or could not let passengers tender there?
  22. I thought the main reason was they got so many complaints about the medallion not working properly.
