  1. The ship has been sailing since 2019. So technically you are correct, but for discussion purposes the ship exists and is an upgrade in every way vs the Pride.
  2. The issue isn't obstructed views. The issue is what is called IV cabins aren't real verandas but an oceanview window that opens with furniture to simulate a balcony, but in reality you're inside your room not outside. It all depends on how you plan use a balcony cabin. If all you want is to get fresh air and enjoy the views, then the IV cabin can work for you. But if you enjoy laying out on a balcony for hours then those cabins won't work for you since you're INSIDE, not outside. You have alot to research so don't be afraid to ask lots of questions.
  3. I think the changes are only for E-Class ships.
  4. Head and shoulders a better ship! You should change it.
  5. NONE of that! As I said, the Pride really didn't have their act together in Europe this summer. Although it could have been due to supply chain issues. But the Pride also missed printing my milestone cruise with the special keycard, it was just the regular white Diamond card.
  6. We did the Norwegian fjords, albeit on a different cruise line, this summer with the exact port stops. We didn't have any interest in doing major glacier hikes or tours and found it was just fine doing self walks in the towns. Of the ports listed Olden has the least to easily see right off the ship on your own:TBH it wasn't a nice day there the day we were there so we just stayed on the ship. But the view where we docked was AMAZING. The remaining three ports are very walkable and quite enjoyable. Just make sure you bring RAIN GEAR, umbrellas, and dress in layers. Photo below of Olden.
  7. Yes thank you. I was mixing up the benefits. We never received any certificates. I turned Diamond on the Pride this summer on the 2rd cruise of 3 and 25th milestone on the 3rd cruise and my husband turned Diamond on the 3rd cruise of 3 and 25th last week on the Celebration, and also no Certificate. The Pride really didn't have their act together on most things, unfortunately.
  8. Does one call that same number to have the complementary specialty dinner applied to a specific cruise?
  9. Exactly. We did the MSC Meraviglia 5 years ago from Genoa, Italy for Christmas and it was a great cruise. It's such a beautiful ship.
  10. Yes, I'd like to confirm this, since we now only cruise on casino comps the only cost besides the port fees and taxes is either $200 or $400 total cabin price.
  11. It can only be reserved day of and if you have Your time dining it is treated as a MDR for you and can be reserved same day when it opens. For those on set early or late seating you cannot make same day reservations until after 8-8:30pm. The reason for this is as I stated Cucina is treated as a MDR for Your Time dining passengers so they are given a wider timeframe to eat there than fixed dining passengers.
  12. Bonsai is a for fee, a la carte restaurant.
  13. As an Asian American I would also agree. There's nothing wrong with the main Asian dishes at Chbang but JiJi's is better quality. TBH the Asian choices at Street Eats on the E-Class is better than Chibang. The Baos, Dumplings and Steamed Sticky Rice with chicken is the most authentic Chinese cuisine as you're going to get on a mass market mainstream American cruise line. This is why on E Class ships Chibang ,Cucina, and P&A will REMAIN complementary eating venues. First because the seating capacity is necessary and second if they ever did charge for those restaurants the menus would have to be revamped to match the rest of the fleets similar venues. The downgrading of the food items is KEY to seeing that they won't ever be a cover for them in it's present form.
  14. Overall esthetics is something that is important to me (which is why I have ruled out ever sailing on the Splendor again; the big pink dots plastered everywhere made me dislike being on the ship) and it does figure into my decision on which cruiseline and ship to sail on. The Spirit Class on Carnival needs some tender loving care. Having said all this we are scheduled to sail on the Luminosa in September for the 30 TP and the decision was easy on this particular cruise since it was a casino comped cruise on which we will save $10,000 overall and it seems the Luminosa is in better shape than any of the other Spirit Class ships. Oh and the itinerary is pretty spectacular!
  15. While that may have happened to your friend's cabin on your sailing that isn't a fleet wide mandate. We have slept overnight with the IV windows fully open (we prefer the room on the warmer side) and the window remained open in the morning.
  16. Yes, I know because I was on the Pride for 32 days in May and June and the Pride is definitely not my favorite ship. It's in dire need of some refurbishment and the food was subpar. A Vista Class ship would be great.
  17. Why are they putting the dumpy old ships in Europe?
  18. Absolutely NOT the case on MardiGras and Celebration and subsequent Excel Class ships.
  19. Here's an amazing bookstore in Porto you should try to see!
  20. It's a great way to get an appetizer taste of different European Countries and cities. Since it's an open jaw itinerary it would behoove you to spend a minimum 2 nights,3 nights even better before and after the cruise. I was on the Pride this May/June for 3 cruises totaling 32 days. One of the itineraries was similar to the one you're considering. My biggest advice would be that you have to do your homework and figure out what's there to see in each city and what's of interest to you. The other thing is deciding how you want to sightsee. If you're physically able to do lots of walking around many of the cities can be done on your own,and it's a lot more enjoyable than with a big tour group. Of course if that's not how you enjoy sightseeing and rather leave it to others to take you around that's fine too. But you still have to do the homework to figure out what's interesting to you.
  21. The TV's are mounted too close to the wall to reach it. On our cruise the ship sent out a firmware update and it messed up many of the TVS(TV's froze on on position, couldn't turn it off). Turns out the TV's never actually shut down but are in standby mode all the time. Firmware can't be fully updated without an actual shutdown which the cabin remote doesn't actually do. Anyway we called for service and a couple of cabin attendants tried to unplug the TV to power it off. Couldn't reach it. A TV tech with a master remote was able to do a full of shutdown.
  22. Glad you had no issues. Our 32 nights in May/June the MDR was horrible.
  23. Lines are always shorter at Bar Della Rosa than Java Blue.
