  1. I think the tens of thousands was a reference to all the money they have spent earning their CClub status over 20 cruises, and thereby earned a significant benefit they feel has been diminished.
  2. I might have this confused with another post, but IIRC the post said they ordered it 5 or 6 times on every cruise so wanted it to stay on the daily menu. But if in one meal, the cheese would kill me!
  3. How can it be over 100%? Does the 2% come from collecting forfeited payments from cancelled cabins that then got resold?
  4. @mahdnc Thank you! We might decide to do that if the app's less savory MDR menu selections prove to be accurate in the months before ours.
  5. I never booked a specialty ahead of the cruise or bought a package. If we want to eat in Murano on a certain day, can we buy that ahead of time and make a rez? (Not the first night; I know it is always available ahead of time.)
  6. We had to cancel 7 cruises, leapfrogging forward, and we are still waiting! Hopefully Feb Reflection will take place... 🙏
  7. I was referring to the onboard recognition of the combo of suite+B2B2B+Zenith. I doubt there is much chance he isn't well-known to the officers and crew.
  8. Okay, you win. No one is unhappy because you aren't. This mass hysteria where people wrongly think they aren't happy must stop!
  9. Besides what @NMTraveller pointed out, Jim, you have to concede that ordering off the MDR menu is not the same as eating in the MDR. You are receiving Luminae service in a Luminae setting, no doubt specially delivered with more dispatch as suite customers are used to and MDRers are not. I think your status as a Zenith and as a suite cruiser who regularly books B2B2B or just B2B also gives crew members and supervisors familiarity with you. When you want something, you will likely get it. Do you think that level of attention is given to cruisers spending under $3,000 and only every few years? I don't begrudge you what you have earned the right to enjoy! I just tend to think that what you describe is still the level of luxury cruising that long-time pax in non-suites say they too used to have, but which has been cut out except in the Retreat.
  10. Most people cruising now probably booked in 2022 or 2021. The Quality/Demand correlation is not apparent immediately. Let's see what happens to bookings from, say, this October through 2024. I suspect there will be many sales to inveigle new customers to venture on board. But it is clear from this site that there are many X veterans dropping out.
  11. Anyone else notice that most of the happy posts are from people in suites or Aqua, and most of the complaining this year has been from Concierge and below?
  12. Texans are scared of beans? SMH! Beans are crucial! And during Covid, they helped you keep social distance!
  13. If they offer chilli, I'm good...but only if they have corbread.
  14. @lostchild Trying to calculate these things isn't very precise. Packages have gotten way too expensive for us, but when we had one 4 years ago we used it to sample drinks and wines we normally wouldn't have ordered. The package drinks were not fully consumed half the time. Couldn't, or wouldn't, have experimented a la carte, and wouldn't have discovered some brands of Scotch we really enjoyed.
  15. Just a quick question. Do you have hearing loss in both ears? If you have hearing aids, and can turn down the volume, do your hearing aids amplify all sound or just certain frequencies?. Wondering because if that blast lowered the volume at which you hear things, I would think you would have a bit more empathy for people whose un-aided hearing is causing them to feel discomfort on the ship.
  16. Just get a better attitude!. Pretend you are Dick van Dyke, put on a happy face, and all troubles magically disappear! Helps to have lots and lots of money, of course! And animation, too.
  17. Maybe, as has been suggested, getting 6000+ pax per sailing can be more profitable overall than 2400-3300?
  18. But sometimes a new thread has a new piece of info. People stop looking at same-old same-old. Anyone who would look at a voluminous thread will not be out any energy reading through 100 words again.
  19. I don't see why you would be sorry you asked! I haven't seen any criticism of your question or comments. As you can see, many different approaches. Bottom line: do what is most comfortable for you.
  20. @jbcallender If you can write a program that can check for balance due, you can add a step to check the balance due against all invoice amounts, and total payments made. Not rocket science, and no green eyeshaded humans needed. If the data can be accessed by people when a call is made, it is computer accessible, too.
  21. @marne-c The thread referred to by @bigbenboys was begun in 2019, and if you go to the 2022 follow-ups starting at post #89 on page 4 you can learn about the program referred to. Ignore the 2019 stuff. Succinctly put, it does not look to apply to your situation.
  22. My wife had custody of her 2 preteen sons and her ex tried to apply for passports for them to take them to Denmark. The State Department had the FBI contact my wife to see if she had granted permission. She had not, so they denied the passports. Turned out he was scheming to take them there to live with his girlfriend. That was in the late 80's but they are very alert to the possibility of child abduction by non-custodial parents. I would have every "i" dotted and every "t" crossed just to make everything smooth and easy. The OPs is just a name issue, not custody, but different names do trigger alerts. Of course the jerk ex was trying to abscond by jet. Trying the literal "slow boat to China" (or wherever) method on a cruise isn't very suspicious!
  23. Rumor has it that in parts of Texas ordering steak well done, or (heaven forbid!) asking for ketchup, will get you buried somewhere in the lonely dusty landscape....
  24. Some people here seem to think customers shouldn't complain about having to call to fix stupid problems caused by X. I understand mistakes happen, but making the same mistake over and over again is the literal mark of an unreluable company. One would think that befoee any letter goes goes threatening to cancel their would be a simple check...invoice total vs amount paid. But no..... Anyone excusing this please tell me how you feel when you get a random utility or credit card bill threatening to close an account because they failed to credit a payment. Yes, correctable. Avoidable? Not by the customer if the company's systems don't work.
  25. Cake is deleted for our Feb '24 cruise as well. Yes, not dependable, blah blah blah. But likely not a mere coincidence.
