  1. and what is the ratio of cabins to cabin stewards on Cunard compared to NCL? I imagine a Cunard steward services fewer than the 14 cabins an NCL steward services (as noted in a previous reply). and where would they house them? Crew quarters on mass-market lines are already cramped. How much would you tolerate fares going up on a mass-market line? Wait, I imagine that would be quite a bit since you also sail Cunard, but the rest of us can't tolerate a huge price increase.
  2. I believe this is correct, fire zone isolation. @chengkp75 would be able to confirm that...
  3. The Flow package is not a refillable bottle, it's six, 12 or 24 one-liter bottles (or boxes if you'd prefer the term). https://www.ncl.com/onboard-packages/bottled-water-packages THIS. But, I also drink water straight from the tap at home, no filter there or in the bottles I bring on cruises. I typically fill my bottle in my cabin.
  4. Have you looked at the deck plans? It pretty clearly marked...
  5. Thanks, I guess I missed that. When I was on the Joy in March we had to go up a deck on disembarkation when I met in Q for a post-cruise excursion.
  6. This is the part that I'm trying to figure out. The "embarkation deck" (where the lifeboats are and where you board the ship at the beginning of the cruise) on the Bliss and Joy (nearly identical) is deck 7. The gangway in ports without the gantry like in the embarkation ports is deck 4. Look at a picture of the side of any of those ships - you won't see an opening at that level. Deck 7 seems awfully high for them to be walking out, but that ramp looks really long for walking off at deck 4.
  7. Google search for "Q smokehouse Norwegian Joy" gives me this tour video -
  8. Based on the lack of threads like the one I already linked to, I'd say they're not really a screw-up. So far the only all-caps "warning" thread is someone that never stayed in the cabin. I realize not everyone is here on CC, but surely SOMEONE has stayed in one of those by now.
  9. I don't think anyone came back with actual pictures but here's a thread -
  10. It's out of hand! Between Tuesday and Saturday (I check mail on those days as it's not delivered directly to my residence and I don't go by the mail location daily) I must have gotten a half dozen of the things, plus a couple NCL brochures (to keep it on topic), and the carrier hadn't even completed the delivery for Saturday yet! He was there delivering when I stopped to pick up. It's gotten so bad they even put a notice up asking people to pick up their mail daily. I've stopped MOST of the normal junk mail so I should drop to a couple things every few days.
  11. Just seemed like a "I'm complaining but I'm not complaining" post...
  12. It's been 75 days for quite some time, and has been clearly laid out in the terms. If you didn't read the T&C's and were not aware of the deadline, that's on you.
  13. and the 'free internet' is 150 minutes per passenger for the first two in the room. That can be upgraded to the unlimited plan, and applied to discount that plan, once on board (there's a thread somewhere about this). Joy or Bliss - either is an excellent choice!
  14. The fare class and what you're allowed depends on the carrier. NCL is negotiating the fares in bulk and trying to get the best rate they can. When I flew on domestic flights booked through the air promo at the time (Fall of 2019) I was able to select my seat with Delta and American. If booking on the promo - no, you get what they book. There's also NCL Premium Air, an option that allows you a little more control over your flight bookings as NCL is acting as your TA and using their size to get better rates (but not BOGO) for your flights.
  15. Not quite. If you don't choose the 'sail-away' rate, the drinks package being included is assumed. If you remove the drink package from the FAS rate the only reduction in cost is the removal of the gratuities.

  17. Someone beat you to it by a few days -
  18. @CruiseDealSweeperif your flights were ticketed, any itinerary changes are the result of the AIRLINE, not NCL. If your flights were not yet ticketed, they didn't change anything on you, you had an expectation based on some placeholders on your account. For the OP - enter 'air promo' or 'NCL flights' in the search box, allow it to search only the NCL forum, you will find MANY threads on this very topic and some recent ones asking nearly identical questions to yours.
  19. Do tell, what about my post history indicates I'm strictly trying to increase post count? That has NEVER been a consideration. I see a topic that interests me, and on which I have something I feel I can contribute and I respond to it. If that's your definition of "post comments only to increase post count", consider me guilty as charged. This is, after all, a DISCUSSION forum. As for the question you asked - I guess you didn't like my answer. Re-read the terms I posted in my first reply - if the Casino will let you use non-refundable OBC, then have at it, and use your $250 OBC at the tables or in the slots. Your bill will be the same as if you couldn't use the OBC in the casino and still spent $250 at the tables and in the slots, if you charged the CND's to your room as I believe most people do.
  20. Most or all of the "out of water" work done in that yard has been in floating docks. I don't see a 'graving dock' there, which is a dock dug out of the shoreline. See Cadiz for an example of one.
  21. Oasis as well. It was the Oasis that was in the Grand Bahamas Shipyard, partially out of the water (there isn't currently a dock there big enough to fully lift those ships) for service on at least one of the pods when 2 cranes collapsed, damaging the ship and drydock. It was a neat solution they designed to be able to do that, but there were apparently some limitations.
  22. Is there a comparable competitor on the market? Swapping them would be quite a challenge.
  23. So, because you didn't get the answer you wanted, you want the topic removed? Here's my take - You're charging $500 to your room to buy two CND's. You then get $250 in OBC, which technically offsets half the cost of the CND's you purchased. You go to spend $100 in the casino. With no other on-board expenses, your total bill is $350. Does it really matter if the OBC you got for the CND purchase is used toward the cost of the CND's or split to go $100 to your casino expense and $150 to the CND purchase?
  24. No it can't. The CruiseNext OBC is considered non-refundable. It's kind of pointless to plan to use it 'against' another charge on the cruise. When I buy CND's I charge them against the room, then I get OBC from the CND purchase which then goes to offset some of the cost of the CND purchase. https://www.ncl.com/popup/cruisenext_terms 1. When you purchase a CruiseNext Deposit (CND), your shipboard account will be charged in USD and you will receive an instant shipboard credit (listed on your final bill as Non-Refundable Onboard Credit) towards your current cruise. Once the cruise has concluded, the CND will be converted into the currency of your current reservation and your CND(s) will be added to your Norwegian Cruise Line guest record (Latitudes Rewards account). Currency exchange rates are set at the time of purchase. To change the currency of a CND; simply email cruisenext@ncl.com with your Latitudes Rewards number and request the currency for your new reservation. Guests who elect to use their CND toward a Sixthman event at the time of purchase will have their CND added to their Sixthman Username profile in USD. Only refundable Onboard Credits and the Non-Refundable Onboard Credit given for purchasing CruiseNext deposits may be used towards your CruiseNext purchase. Note the last line - the OBC from CruiseNext is non-refundable, non-refundable OBC can not be used for the DSC. Bottom line here is that unless you're charging a credit card directly for your CND purchase, your net charge to your room is $125 per certificate if you buy 2 or more and there's no "extra" OBC to use up as it's offset some of the purchase cost that you've billed to your room.
