  1. If the device can use a WiFi network as the internet source AND create another WiFi network to share it, I don't see why not. This is becoming a more common capability, but historically this has not been possible as devices have not been able to connect to one WiFi network and create another for sharing (the WiFi radio was only able to connect to one network at a time).
  2. The only caveat is if you want to book a mix of a-la-carte and cover-charge restaurants and don't have dining credits to cover all nights you want to book. Book cover-charge venues FIRST as the system will assume you're using the dining credit for those. If you book a-la-carte first and 'run out' of credits before booking cover-charge venues you will be charged the cover charge at the time you make the reservation.
  3. Specialty dining - 120 days in advance for non-Haven and those without Platinum status. Only a fraction of the seating is available to book pre-cruise. Also 120 days for non-Haven and below Platinum, No need, show up and get a table. Only the main theater shows can be pre-booked. All other shows are booked at the Box Office, the comedy club on embarkation day or on the screens in the stair lobbies any time. At the top of the topic list for the NCL forum is a drop-down, select Getaway from there to get a pre-filled search for topics containing that ship, see if anyone has posted dailies recently.
  4. If the upgrade was awarded as a result of price drop after final then they got their one-time adjustment already.
  5. It should be, maybe you need to call for it for some reason? So yours has a higher price than this? Keep in mind - the 300 minutes is actually 150 per passenger. The price listed above is one passenger as I'm sailing solo in a Studio. The package is normally $25 per day. The trick, as I explained in the thread I linked above, is to wait until the second day if you can, get the credit for the unused 150 minute package and save the day of use (for which you actually only get 1/2 of the day at the full price anyway).
  6. There's discussion of this in this recent thread -
  7. There's even a new thread on the topic -
  8. I was going to make the same comment! There was a shore excursion promo back in 2019, part of that promo (I can't recall what it was) allowed you to reserve your spot on excursions before boarding and whatever balance there was for the excursion was charged to your on-board account. Without the promo you had to pay up front (I only remember this because the FAS was 'take all' or 'take two' and since I don't drink I had to choose two but I initially picked the shore excursion promo and switched it out after booking an excursion and had to cancel that reservation and pay for the excursion up front).
  9. Except I was concerned I had made the plane and my bag hadn't. They're not going to deplane me because my bag didn't make the connection in the same way they would have deplaned my bag if I didn't make the connection.
  10. You really don't need reservations for the MDR. Just show up when you want to eat.
  11. Go to the NCL forum section. In the area above the list of topics is a drop-down where you can select the ship you want to search for posts about. There may be some recent dailies there, the CD is listed on the back page of them if that page was included. The CD's change too, though. When I sailed in April 2019 I had one CD, when I was back in October there was a different CD (both EXCELLENT!).
  12. Last I knew there wasn't a single solo host on a ship for every single cruise. They switch it up so they participate in a variety of activities. When I was on the Bliss in April 2019 the crew member that was the solo host had done it 2 weeks in a row, but he ASKED to do it (there were some B2B cruisers from the first week that were staying, he wanted to stick with them I think). When I sailed in October the solo host was a different crew member even though the solo host from my April trip was still on board.
  13. Yeah, I'm not sure how 'try' slipped in there. When I flew to Mexico City for work in 2015 there was a delay getting off the ground at my home airport. Enough of a delay that mid-flight I had been re-booked on a later connecting flight. However, they made up enough time on the way to Atlanta that I was able to get from my arrival terminal to my departure terminal just in time to catch my original flight (they verified I was who I claimed using my passport, scanned my boarding pass from one they had printed on the desk and slammed the door behind me as I went through to the jetway, THAT close, 1 hour delay and only had a 1 hour layover scheduled). I was REAL nervous my bag wouldn't make it across the tarmac but it must have gotten VIP service as it made it to MEX on the plane with me. I had a change of clothes and anything SUPER important in my carry-on though.
  14. Your planner should have allowed making dining reservations 3 months ago, they open at 120 days before the cruise unless you're a higher status or in certain stateroom categories.
  15. When I had to kill time in LA I did the car rental. I took one of the cruise line shuttles to the airport, AA allowed us to check our bags (yes, 12 hours before the flight and I don't have status with them), then took the rental agency shuttle to grab a car and do sightseeing. Went to Santa Monica Pier and the Griffith Observatory. We had more time, and some other things we wanted to do, but one of my companions was getting cranky so we were back to the airport in time for dinner.
  16. That cloudy water has been explained by the resident former chief engineer. On my 5 cruises on 4 different ships from 2 lines I haven't seen this.
  17. I'm trying to figure out how the waiter in the MDR is going to know you removed the DSC and the money needs to be turned in, especially if you don't remove it until day 6 of a 7 day cruise. What the person you quoted is suggesting seems quite far-fetched!
  18. This other recent thread may be of interest, similar discussion -
  19. @RocketMan275 not quite right. Buy $500 in CruiseNext, this is two $250 certificates. $500 is charged to your on-board account. $250 is then credited back to your on-board account, but you keep all $500 to use for a future cruise. Your net cost for $500 in credit to pay for future cruising is $250. You don't "spend" any of what you're buying right away. The part that some people get hung up on is that the refund/rebate/whatever you want to call it is considered 'OBC', but it's then immediately used to offset the cost of the CND, it's not really available for use for other purchases.
  20. @julig22 has provided the simplest explanation. Trying to justify the 'OBC' against other charges just doesn't make sense
  21. I should put one on my cabin door in the Studio area on my next cruise. lol
  22. I just made my final payment - I'm going on the Norwegian Escape March 18-25 next year. I booked a Studio cabin (double occupancy cabins are just outrageous right now for a solo traveler) but have hopes to get a price-drop upgrade to a balcony as the cruise nears. I'm looking forward to trying a different NCL ship, having been on the nearly-identical ships Joy and Bliss 3 times so far.
  23. There are several entrances to the Studio "complex" on each deck, all locked to only allow guests in Studio cabins to access the area. Within the "complex" is a stairwell that will bring you to the lounge, that is unlocked as it's within the locked area. I may not be entirely accurate on this but I believe this is where the entrances are - Deck 10 entrances are near 10529 and 10501 and maybe 10555. Deck 11 entrances are near 11501, 11519 and maybe one near 11529. Deck 12 entrances are near 12575, 12501, 12533 and 12537. The lounge is actually not directly-accessible from outside the Studio area, the most direct access is to go in the port-side deck 11 entrance to the Studio area and then make an immediate right. I've sailed on the Bliss, which has an identical Studio layout to the Encore. I actually often would take the main stairs up from lower decks to deck 10, then enter the Studio area and take those stairs the rest of the way to break it up some, I was on deck 12.
  24. There's a 2 page discussion of the sale here - My Studio cabin for a cruise in March (just made final payment) dropped $100. Got that price drop Thursday night then paid it off.
  25. I did a non-ship excursion in Cabo, they were VERY conscious of the need to get us back to the tender dock in time, especially as the people they booked on the tour with us (also from the ship) were LATE getting to the meeting place for the excursion, a whole other story related to using the proper tender platform, disability and warnings on the excursion related to mobility. We ended up a little rushed at some stops, but we got to everything we were promised. We made it back in PLENTY of time. Keep in mind that this is their livelihood, getting people back to the tender pier late is a bad business move.
