  1. I have brought on these with no issues at the Port of Long Beach multiple times. 4 of these mini bottles equal 1 - 750 ml bottle. YMMV depending on the port and security agent.
  2. This is what I have noticed, if you try and book a room for 3+ the rooms are available for you to select. However, if you are booking for only 2 people then only the guarantee option comes up. It is super annoying as there is a ton of rooms available, but they want to give first dibs to those that are booking for 3+. Do another search for a room for 3+ occupants, I bet you will be able to see nearly all the rooms in that category are available.
  3. On Monday John Heald said that they are hoping to be back at full staffing levels at the end of this month, does that mean that things such as : - Early access to staterooms for cruisers with status is restored? - Twice a day stateroom service would be restored? I have a feeling the above 2 will still be a "no" because Carnival would cite "Covid" reasons.
  4. I will be on the Carnival Spirit in a couple of weeks and just got the email below. Not sure if they are giving early access for cruisers with status, but they sure are for suite guests at least.
  5. Los Angeles County resident here in California. Lots of free testing throughout the county. Check out the LA County Department of Health's website (link) first to find one near you. My go to place is DoctorNow (link) in Beverly Hills. You can get both a rapid antigen test and PCR at the same time at DoctorNow (both free with insurance).
  6. Purchase the test kits through eMed instead (link) for $150 for a pack of 6. Also, you can get partial reimbursement from your health insurance (for up to 8 tests, per insured member, per month, and the reimbursement is up to $12 per test). Therefore, you will get $72 back from your health insurance, making the 6 test kits $78 ($13 each).
  7. Booked on the Carnival Spirit for next month utilizing offer O1M (BIG Savings Offer). Not sure if it is considered a casino offer or not. Total was $913.72 for 2 in an interior ($300 cruise rate + $613.72 in taxes/port fees). It also included $200 back in OBC. I emailed a copy of my brokerage account on 6/3/22 and got a reply back on 6/25/22 that the $100 OBC was added to my cruise. I am so confused how Carnival is determining what is considered a reduced rate to where they would deny some people the shareholder benefit but then approve others. Maybe it might be the representative to where some are more strict than others?
  8. Just say that you were a close contact to someone that just tested positive. There you go, it is now covered by your health insurance.
  9. For the ships that have a Jiji's or ChiBang, the wait isn't as bad as you are at least able to fill out the form, have a seat and wait for your food. For ships that do not have these restaurants, I think they should repurpose the steakhouse during lunch and utilize it for the Mongolian Wok. This way the wait for the food isn't as bad and you can also spread people out as the buffet area gets extremely busy during lunch on sea days.
  10. So is afternoon tea still offered or have they completely scrapped it for all ships? I thought it was just for sailings less than 7 days? I am on an 8 day cruise next month on the Carnival Spirit and was hoping to go to it at least once during the cruise.
  11. I was on the Carnival Valor at the end of May. I got in line for the Mongolian Wok right when it opened and both lines were already wrapped to the elevators. It took a little over an hour to finally get my food. I never went back there again during lunch because the line was ridiculously long every day.
  12. My cell phone case has a slot in the back that holds credit cards, so I just put the S&S card there. linky. I love the Spigen ones. Never understood why people still use lanyards, this is so much more convenient.
  13. Yes, I do it all the time. Some things I pack include single serve bags of chips, fruit snacks and granola bars.
  14. Already asked and answered. You need their booking number and last name to actually link their booking to yours.
  15. I just did 11 days out of a suitcase (1 day in New Orleans, 5 days on the Carnival Valor, 2 more days in New Orleans, then 3 days in Jackson, MS before flying back to Los Angeles). I packed 5 days of clothes plus what I was wearing at the time. I did laundry once on the last night of my cruise (halfway mark of my trip). My Packing List: 5 pairs of underwear/bras 2 pairs of socks 5 pairs of shorts 5 shirts 2 pairs of shorts/tank to sleep in 1 dress 1 swimsuit 1 pair of flats 1 pair of flip flops What I wore on day 1 (leggings, shirt, sweater, tennis shoes) Toiletries Laundry Supplies (garbage bag, Tide pods and dryer sheets) For a 7 day cruise, you can probably pack 3-4 pairs of clothes and do laundry halfway. Totally doable.
  16. Internet on Carnival is really hit and miss. On average I get about 0.10-0.15 Mbps upload speeds (Panorama and Sunrise) and that is if it was even working that day. Some other lines might have better internet. I have personally not gotten internet internet on the other lines, but I have read Royal Caribbean averages 5Mbps, while Princess can average 50Mbps.
  17. The US tends to have 2 waves of increased cases of Covid every year, June/July and December/January. These patterns are normal as it tends to be when people are intermingling and traveling more often. As you can tell, cases across the US are currently on the rise and we are seeing more and more posts of people testing positive on board. Just assume the testing will be required, as it will be highly unlikely that the testing requirement will be removed by the end of June.
  18. It is frustrating that Carnival was in such a rush to be the first to bring back all their ships. Instead of staffing their ships fully, they spread out all the staff across all the ships too thinly. Are the other cruise lines having the same difficulty due to staffing shortages? To my understanding, RCL is still offering twice a day cleaning of your cabin and they haven't cut back on hours for restaurants or other food options (tea time, pizza, specialty dining, etc).
  19. Thanks to CruiseCritic I know that ArriveCan is a requirement. However, I haven't recieved any communication from Carnival about it. When did you get notification that we need it for boarding? Or does it randomly pop up in the cruise manager saying so? My cruise on the Spirit isn't until the end of July, so I am curious if that is why I haven't recieved anything from Carnival about it yet.
