Ive only sailed celebrity in the last 20 years and I have found the food to be superb. But I am not a foodie, and I eat to live, not the other way round, so posh/expensive cuisine is wasted on me.

I prefer to view the sail away from the balcony of our cabin. I never unpack either. Case goes under bed, and I pull it out when needed to grab a clean shirt of whatever. Life, the cruise, is too short to spend time unpacking, only to have to repack 10 days or so later.

On the cruises I have been on our cases were out in our room for us. We head straight to our room, open the balcony door and sit and chill and be amazed we are actually there. I then usually head off to a bar for a bottle of champagne and one glass. She doesn't share.

Not really, though to be honest I don't really look. But as it rains more than anything else I think we have our coat hoods up.

I thought the original post was really good, and very interesting. Alas, I doubt he would enjoy cruising with me, as I despise fancy dress up nights. I mean really despise them. And yet being british, I dont wear baseball caps, or do many of the other things this poster dislikes. Nor do I party at midnight, nor sit by the pool all day. Still, great post though, enjoyed reading it.

I am an extremely lightweight drinker, but I love the alcohol free cocktails. Her indoors isnt a lightweight drinker though😨, so the premium package is well worth it. 😉

Captains circle get-together sound a bit cultish. Definitely to be avoided.

I would be extremely cheesed off if part of the ship, sold to me as part of my cruise, was suddenly out of bounds, because they let someone book it for private parties. Infact I would say I was mis-sold something. Good for a refund methinks.

Central London is very much like this. I have worked there a lot over the years so always fancied a beer or three. Unless you have those beers straight after work, you will be drinking in an empty pub after about 7pm. Its hard to believe but "the City" in London is like a ghosttown after that. And dont try and get food after about 10pm either.

Maybe this is a british thing, but breakfast needs to be as greasy spoon as possible. So going for Quality, for a fry up, especially after a heavy night of alcohol abuse, isnt really whats needed. Now the Buffet isnt up to greasy spoon standards but its closer than the specialist dining. Ah, to be back i the greasy spoon cafe in Rose Street Edinburgh.

I just found Monaco pretentious beyond belief, and I also find folk with that much wealth just a bit sick.

For those concerned the strikes in the UK are not that disruptive, unless trains are cancelled. Even when we strike in the UK we are so polite we try not to disrupt anyone. Its true. Never felt the need to a UK cruise as I have been to most of the places they stop at. I would say this though, there are many many far more interesting places than London. So the cruise should be fabulous. Bring a sweater though. Its not likely to be a sunbathing cruise.

68. Thinking about packing.

The towel issue bothers me hugely. Surely we should all be trying to re-use towels as much as possible. I refuse to believe we need towels in the rooms changing daily. Especially when there are thousands available on deck to use too. And I fully accept that cruising is bad for the environment generally, so I am something of a hypocrite.

Celebrity. Water was free as far as I can remember.

The picking of one wasnt a strict rule. lol So to prove the point. I chose Dubrovnik. But I have others I love too. 1. Dubrovnik - Fell in love with the place. 2. Naples 3. Cozumel 4. Key west 5. Kotor - went on a fabulous Tuck tuck ride. 6. Pisa/Florence though I didnt like Florence anywhere near as much as others seem to. Been to Rome airport and Civitavecchia port 4 times yet never been to Rome. Will make it 6 this year, as yet a aagin we dont have time to do Rome pre or post cruise.

I have no issue at all with people doing stuff in private rooms. Thats their choice. As long as the door is firmly shut.😉
