  1. Well that is an opinion. For the record ill-fated makes it sound like it sunk, it was a loss of power…. Tell me about how they rehearse something like this. Well rehearsed procedure…hahahaha, absolutely not even a possibility (for any line). Maybe have a sister ship sail next to the ship in case something happens? NO wait….,charter planes circling over over the world to land and take up people a cabin at a time back to wherever they wanted. How did you get back to Dover??? They def should have given you 50K at least per person…. Wake up, it is time for school. BTW, I did not get you started un anything, you posted on my thread. Of course there were screw ups, as many have posted here and on other threads, it had to happen. It was simply an unbelievable amount of information, logistics, lack of options in an extremely tight window. I understand the frustration tied to what happened, Blatantly stating they failed miserably is either short sighted, ignorant or arrogant. I will let you choose which one applies. Obviously you can cruise where and with who you want. I can easily point you to each of the major lines where something like this has happened, and no better results, and in fact several worse/. This includes, RCCL, NCL, Princess, Costa, MSC, Ponant, and more. Get the picture? Let me know where you go next. Happy cruising.
  2. Much ado about nothing. Tipping threads and the suggestions on who gets it, when if are closely related to area 51 and building 7 conspiracies IMHO.
  3. All that is THEIR problem. I could care less. Being the biggest, the most glamour, the wow means absolutely nothing to me. mega of the seas are eyesores. But that is just me. Moving on.
  4. OP, there are so many good options, there are actually too many. MG is a flat out home run for food and bars. By far our fav class of ships.
  5. Been to both as well. Am amusement part on a Carib island is the worst idea in a decade, perhaps in cruising history. CC is a just a Castaway cay want to be. The beach SUCKS compared compared to hmc, If we put it up to a vote (even on rccl threads) hmc would win. We can agree to disagree on this.
  6. Not to degrade the issue, but HMC, tender or not rocks over coco cay, not even close.
  7. agreed, not saying the poster is wrong but done 10 cruises since they made the change and every single one of them was over in less than 10 minutes, most under 3.
  8. All good info. It is an older clientele mix as noted, pools are open, we went through College Fiord and on the way out sat in the aft pool area hot tun with cocktail in hand. Alaskan cruises are in a rain forrest, not a tropical rain forest, but it still is. The vast majority of time, the ship will be sailing on the inside passage and almost the entire journey you should be able to see lands sometimes on both sides. Layers are def appropriate and you will most likely get wet. There also will not be any steel band playing out on Lido.... Fantastic experience, do it.
  9. We have done many aft cains, mostly aft wraps. On some ships we had small soot issue, but never on Spirit class.
  10. Journey cruises have them like they used to be.
  11. Was on it in November, she is in great shape, nothing at all to worry about. I did a live review if you want more info.
  12. I have sampled many.... Had what I would call my best martini ever at Grand View Bar on MG. Her version of shaken was aaamaaazzzing
  13. great room on a great ship. enjoy
  14. Misinformation….cruisecritic?. Say it isn’t so
  15. Certainly not the end of the world discussion. I got your point, Things continue to change and evolve in the cruising world, the dining experience is a leader in the “change”. It has been since NCL changed it forever with freestyle dining. There are a number of different variables that will continue to make the future of cruising a fluid dynamic thing, who knows where it will all lead to.
  16. Ummmm can you point to where the two years are mentioned?
