  1. They are what “we” make them. There is no doubt that roll calls have shriveled on the vine, the reasons why are unanswered questions. I can recall one here for the Breeze when she first came out that had hundreds of active participants.
  2. timing of when you are looking can be a factor.
  3. While what you say is a good rule of thumb, I can tell you we have put two in a sleeps 3 room many times. The issue is how bookings go. During busy times like these, they could displace you to a sleep 2 cabin. As late as two weeks ago we did this successfully. As you mention, the type of cabin is a variable also.
  4. You are correct they did come with chips. I have not ordered room service in years, not sure if that is still the case.
  5. On the Vista class, these are highly coveted rooms. We book these all the times for groups we lead. Depending on when you want to sail, you may have to look out well over a year to find them available (or as a cancel near final payment). As another has posted, your question is a good example of why it makes sense to book thru PVP or TA. Costs you nothing and you gain their expertise and knowledge.
  6. Options are always a good thing. On the other hand on Vista class ships we think they are THE best rooms on the ship.
  7. As mentioned, it has to do with capacity requirements for safety. A room that has a capacity for a number (two on your case), cannot be exceeded as part of booking. There are ways to manage around this, when booking (in the selection of rooms). That said, technically most couches can be converted to a third (in a balcony room). There is also a big difference in billing (as you may know), a third person in a room almost always pays a significantly lower price. Not sure how you booked, if you used a TA or PVP and if you informed them of your potential plans, they should have been able to assist for the best possible solution. If you booked yourself online, this is a great reason to use a TA or PVP. Their knowledge is free, and in this case would have saved a ton of money and aggregation. Have a great cruise.
  8. True. Our last Diamond lunch (last week) there it was not a filet (think it was a NY strip (not sure). That said, the times they do have it, it was great.
  9. Exactly how we did it. It was an enjoyable meal.
  10. Well, I will concede there is a dock. I will also concede it is the best part of Coco Cay. I will take HMC tender (I can get off first if I like, every…..single……time).
  11. Coco Cay pales in comparison to HMC, the facts.
  12. It is important to note that you cannot exceed the approved max capacity for a room.
  13. Funny you should say this. One on our party is not a sea food lover and basically said the same thing.
  14. We recently did it but not on Carnival. Ours included the transfer to the airport, so while we had mild interest in the excursion, it was a no brainer. The luggage was the main factor in the decision (what to do with it during the time).
  15. Just for the record, ships get added and deleted all the time from these sites. They also change ships and sometimes use some as “slot holders” and other reasons. There is always a risk when you use an outside vendor for excursions, it is inherit with product. I would do the risk and go for it, especially if the vendor has added value in the excursion (not just the price). If it is only price, I would wait.
  16. When were in awe at her size. 38K tons. Totally wowed with the ship, the experience and the trip. Hooked us.
  17. So much subjectiveness when it comes to taste. There are times when someone brags about something I say meh, and other times where the are not impressed and I am wowed. That said, most are in between those extremes.
