So glad you enjoyed it after I recommended it. Always worry when recommending π

In December on the Quest, the mid cruise feedback was on an A5 flyer with the scan code but a couple of us filled them by pen and ink βοΈ and handed into reception. They were acknowledged and discussed/actioned in a very timely manner.

I have just found your blog this morning so will follow with interest. Great reading so far. Nightmare with the mosquitos, hope they disappear as you head further south. I certainly didnβt experience any in December. Agree re Caroline, very knowledgeable and engaging. Say hi to her from me as she was also on in December and she will likely remember me as Tracey with the baby tarantula π. Enjoy the rest of your cruise. The pianist in the Den was great but agree it was sometimes too loud to have any kind of conversation. X Cheers Tracey.

I received the same from the UK. Feels like a step backwards and definitely not something I would refer to friends. Having a wee bit of On board spend feels more personal for your referred friends and a wee discount on your own cruise is nice. ( on that, I had two refer and receive recently ( well May 2023 but got certificates in July) and have not been able to use them towards new cruise according to TA but they have apparently been added to OBc (I wait with baited breath π)

I can absolutely recommend https://www.taxiinvolos.gr/transfers/taxi-volos-to-meteora-tour/ I did this last year and they were brilliant. They will adapt to whatever you require regards visiting the monasteries and will stop whenever you want for that perfect photo.(something that wouldnβt happen on a coach tour). As I had a mobility issue, we visited the monasteries that required the least amount of walking but still visited the others at their starting points. So saw way more on the day. Also, we were taken to lunch in a really authentic greek restaurant that locals would go. We also did a wee diversion on the way back to ship and enjoyed an hour or so in Makrinitsa. Without doubt my most memorable and amazing day on a 20 night B2B Azamara cruise

These look fabulous and I will be reading them too as also booked on QV for 2025. Cheers Tracey

Anyone booking any of the new sailings today ?

Fabulous. I have booked the 78 night RT from Southampton on the QV. Definitely an amazing itinerary that wil likely require many beans on toast for dinner over the next year or so π. -
Well you might get a birdie π€£

Just watched the complete webinar ( with sound). Really good and loved all the Captains perspectives. Europe really has so many special places. X

Thanks so much. Fab. Link works. I sporadically get emails. π

Anyone on the Azamara Journey cruise via Cape Town
tmacktravels replied to Skipperrog's topic in Azamara
I am on the 15th Jan sailing from Cape Town and have sailed previously on the Journey too. Great ship and staff. Should be a fabulous cruise and weather should be great. -
I have recently referred a couple to Azamara. If they havenβt cruised with Azamara before they will get $150 OBC and those referring get $300 towards a future cruise. From my own perspective, I only did it as they are friends and they were very interested in the cruises I had done with Azamara.

Azamara Journey - South Africa cruise visa questions

So true but sometimes just have to go with what works. Last five Azamara cruises - Balcony, Balcony, Continent Suite, Continent Suite, Balcony. Next cruise on Journey is Inside π. Solo traveller so its what works deal wise.x Still get the great Azamara experience whatever cabin I sleep in. π

I was on a B2B in July in two different CC suites, first with a bath & second with walk in shower. I used the spa showers on the first leg as I could access them when using the steam room π

Received upgrade Email on Sunday for 15th January South Africa on Journey I am on an inside. Minimum bids Β£175pp Oceanview, Β£885pp Balcony & Β£975pp Balcony+ As a solo traveller, I would pay at least double the minimums. Unlikely to bid as I have a great inside location and upgrade to Oceanview could be in different location and/or obstructed so probably not worth it for me. However, may mull it over π My last Azamara was in a CC suite so definitely spoiled but realistically didnβt spend a lot of time in it. Discoverer + level

What a fabulous webinar for Alaska. Have to admit this is one of the first I have watched fully without being distracted. ππ Celebrity

Definitely try and tip locals in Italy their own currency, (Euro). For any additional gratuity to Azamara Crew, dollars are good and Euros are great if the Ship is in the area for a substantial amount of time and means they can spend it, without currency fees on their previous time off the ship x
-
A somewhat harsh response to the OP as, in the main they were asking about tips to locals, in particular Italy and recognised that gratuities included for ship crew (although not unjustified to tip extra to a member of crew for exceptional service) x

I disembarked yesterday and no compulsory requirement for masks onboard when in Greece. I had one instance in a Taxi that required one But not for the return taxi with a different driver in Kavala. π. A lot of public transport looked like masks required but definitely random. Lots wore one on a local bus in Syros but driver didnβt. π

The furniture is not particularly comfortable but believe it is only temporary and will be replaced when new items arrive. I have attached a photo of the smoking area taken on White night on Onward. Not everyone smoked but it was definitely a very sociable hub and thoughts of a not so comfy seating faded into the sunset. ππ₯°
