  1. Bring your book. Princess libraries continue to shrink and there are mostly games there (Scrabble, etc., multiple sets.) I always take a fully loaded Kindle.
  2. This is a great itinerary. I've done it a couple of times.
  3. 😧 I have sympathy for you, OP. I see several others here are also kind people who have given you useful advice rather than jeer at you.
  4. That was a sad day. We met a wonderful sommelier years ago on the Pacific Princess who taught me more about wine than any of those on board wind tastings.
  5. Yes, people's appearance does tend to change over the course of 45 years. 🙄
  6. You have a point! I guess I was hoping in vain for a decent vegeburger on deck. 😉
  7. Blocked off in that regular diners from the MDR can't go sit in CC. I don't remember the ship and it was pre-covid, but one time the staff had placed chairs in the aisle, literally blocking off access. With everything else, I imagine things vary from ship to ship.
  8. Not exactly on topic, but do you know if they are serving Beyond Burgers at the deck grill or do they still have their version of a "vegeburger" (aka fried paste)?
  9. I will be finding all this out for myself next month, but from prior observation, it looks like there is a long line to get into the regular MDR and a much shorter one for CC. The entrances are on opposite sides of the ship, but they both go into the same room. The CC area is blocked off from the rest of the dining room.
  10. I think the ship has more than one person to deal with emergencies.
  11. The space belongs to Princess, as does the lounger.
  12. Maybe a younger crowd prefers beer over wine? Sounds like the new Princess attitude.
  13. There's always an excuse that isn't "It's our fault."
  14. Spell checker? There is an old Latin maxim we should all remember: De gustibus non est disputandum. Look it up.
  15. It looks like the trend is to replace Vines with the Gastropub. Wine drinkers yield to beer drinkers.
  16. Maybe it's not a threat. They may not all be here on CC, but there are people who will not cruise with Princess again because of this treatment and other shortcomings. I know some cheerleaders vigorously defend anything Princess does, but it is not the same cruise line it was in 2019. I don't blame the OP one bit for feeling Princess did not care about him or his wife. I was sick on a Princess ship some years before covid, and the medical staff, along with the crew, treated me with concern and care during my isolation. That was the old Princess. Disclaimer for those who seem to think they need to know: Yes, I have two Princes cruises booked. Like several others, I am burning off the FCC. I let Princess keep my money (on a not-cheap cruise) during the pause, and I accepted the "good will" FCC they offered. Now we are down to the good will money and for my future Princess cruises I am going to spend their money.
  17. I don't know. Maybe Fred is a real looker. 🙂 Before the age of medallion, your name was outside your door on a piece of paper you could remove. Can't do that with the video display. It could easily be a safety issue for a lady traveler.
  18. Back in the olden days (2019) my grandson lost his medallion and they gave him an old-fashioned cruise card to replace it. He was 13 at the time.
  19. The hot dog is still complimentary, thank goodness. Must have one on the balcony every cruise.
  20. I don't think so. The plane is not "on board."
  21. Different ideas of what a pool lounger is. It's not just a place to take a nap (a lie-down) but it's also a chair to sit on to eat lunch or read or whatever. If it were just a bed where someone took a nap, I guess it would make sense to wake up and move on, sort of like getting out of bed, but getting up from the "chair" to go get a hot dog is not the same thing.
