  1. Doubtful. Taking a ship to travel between Port Said and Alexandria is not much different than taking a train, bus, or camel 🙂. The ship would have to stop in another country between the ports to cause a second entry.
  2. As 🇬🇧 say, "penny wise pound foolish". 😃
  3. Search is still broken for me at least. Tap Search from the main screen, logged in or not, try to set a filter, any filter, result is
  4. While I'm sure that downgrading saves on storage, transmission times and the very wide variety of user device capabilities were probably factors.
  5. Since the query has to do with website operation it should be directed to help@cruisecritic.com. Use your email address of record and username.
  6. Wasted effort. Download a WiFi signal strength meter / analyser from your app store. Use that to find suitable locations when needed.
  7. I don't suppose he provided a mechanism for reporting issues? There appears to be no way I can inform the web maintainers that when a VIFP number and one or more other search filters are provided an Oh Snap message is displayed. It doesn't appear there was any formal testing plan used or followed.
  8. In my search results the high prices appear to be cabin price not per person, despite saying otherwise.
  9. Then simply carry the phone powered off. In an emergency you can turn it on and pay the roaming charge. At that point cost will be the least of the worries.
  10. There is also It's also possible that you are not receiving the notification emails despite them being sent. There have been occasional reports of such, although I haven't noticed any reports recently. You can email help@cruisecritic.com asking about this. Use your email address of record and include your username.
  11. Check this pinned thread to see if any of it helps. Follow and notifications are a non-trivial subject 🙂.
  12. You should be able to configure the phone for manual control of date & time and time zone. In Android it's under Date and time in General settings. If you do turn off automatic date, time and time zone don't forget to turn them back on when you get home. 🙂
  13. Go to the end of the thread and post a hello. The thread is quite active. Try reading starting around A roll call is just a thread so like others on CC many interests can be mentioned.
  14. In my book a real pleasure of cruising is long, leisurely diners with interesting tablemates.
  15. Presumably stock has to be accumulated so that all provinces and territories can receive a useful quantity around the same time. Otherwise, who picks the first province? 🙂
  16. Booster shots are always available in ON.
  17. You may also want to consult your physician on the advisability of COVID and other boosters / vaccinations.
  18. I don't think of azipods as engines. My non technical mind thinks of them as propulsion. If a diesel engine was not in standby is it correct to presume it would take significantly longer to get to the point where it could be used to power a generator?
  19. LEAP engine output can be measured in kilowatts. Cruise ship engine output can be measured in megawatts. Depends on what is meant by "start". I suspect a cruise ship engine takes at least as long as a turbofan from a cold start to operational power.

  22. Read the cruise contract, (they are all the same in this respect), it is a passenger's responsibility to determine and obtain whatever documentation is necessary. Failing which boarding may be denied without compensation. Staying aboard in a port doesn't negate the need to have a visa if required for entry into the country.
  23. Just reinstating an FCC used for payment is a bit of a rip. Any expiry should be advanced the time between payment and cancellation.
