  1. How else would you read a message from CC or a moderator?
  2. If you scroll down the search form there are Date Created and Last Updated sections.
  3. You might have a better response posting in the HAL area, https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/103-holland-america-line/
  4. From the Royal Caribbean FAQ, https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/international-ports-travel-considerations. The bolding is mine. "What should I consider when booking a cruise visiting international ports? Given the events over the last few years, having the proper travel documents has been a considerable concern of many guests prior to enjoying a carefree vacation. Passport, visa and inoculation regulations may vary by destination and may change from time to time. For your protection, your passport expiration date needs to be at least six (6) months after the sailing termination date. It is the sole responsibility of the guest to obtain and have available when necessary the appropriate valid travel and health documents such as passports, visas, vaccination certificates, etc., that are necessary for air travel, disembarkation at the various ports of call and re-entry into the appropriate country of origin."
  5. I suppose because a) you are cruising on HAL, and b) not all cruise lines use Verifly. Do you really think that only Canadians have problems with the app? By the way, did you try uploading the vaccination record with both a provincial and GOC logo, or just the QR code?
  6. Nothing nefarious. Baggage handling has always been a very complex system fraught with error. Toss in numerous last minute cancellations, delays, and a general lack of sufficient labour. It's almost a surprise that most luggage actually gets delivered in a timely manner.

  8. GOC has taken into account difficulties with Wi-Fi on some marine vessels. From https://www.canada.ca/en/border-services-agency/services/arrivecan.html "If you're travelling by a marine vessel other than a cruise ship, you must use ArriveCAN before or upon entering Canada. This is to accommodate for Wi-Fi issues on the water."
  9. I wasn't paying attention to the posters. OP wording gave me the distinct impression the poster had no experience with Amazon SIM offerings.
  10. Provides personal experience using an Amazon purchased sim.
  11. At the top of the screen collecting the port information is a help bubble, marine ports of entry. Select that help then Cruise ship operations. Only Ogden Point is listed. If you select that entry you will see Cruise Ship Operations in Services.
  12. ArriveCAN will most likely continue to be used as long as foreign visitors (for the most part) have to be vaccinated.
  13. Where is the pictures of the error code? While you no longer need the help, someone else may find it useful.
  14. Just stop following the thread. Click / tap on the Following link and tap / click Unfollow. Often other CC members wish to continue the discussion.
  15. Try using the search facility.
  16. We have done both. The walk to Terminal 1 is not short, about 15 min depending on mobility. We ended up taking a short cab ride. Getting a cab at 4 in the morning was non-trivial. Last few times we have booked an airport limo service. Means getting up a bit earlier but is much more convenient with baggage, etc.
  17. Some countries don't want visitors to get stuck with an expired passport that might prevent leaving the country. Especially a problem in small countries that may not have consular services from even large countries. Six months is typically beyond the maximum stay permitted visitors.

  20. Yes, so long as the cruise returns to Vancouver or you can drive to Vancouver without crossing a border.
