  1. If a cruise started six weeks before arriving in Canada a test would still be required to board. No test would be required arriving in Canada. There is no cruise ship exception.
  2. A test is not required to enter Canada. A negative test is required to board a cruise ship that leaves from, calls at, or ends in Canada.
  3. A smart phone is not needed. Any internet connected device with a browser can be used. If one travels internationally I would be shocked to learn that such a device was not available. In the pantheon of travel hurdles, a few minutes filling an online form hardly rates.
  4. Sleep when you can during the flight. When you arrive spend as much time as you can outside in sunlight, it helps your body adjust its circadian rhythm. Try to follow your normal routine based on local times. (Don't forget the sunscreen.) In the days I wore a watch I'd set it to the destination local time right after takeoff. It helped me adjust mentally to the time change.
  5. Are you able to get a certified copy of your marriage certificate from the jurisdiction in which you were married?
  6. ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐Ÿฅณ ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Enjoy the cruise.
  7. If you click / long tap the badge it will tell you what it means. Rare means a badge is rare.
  8. This is a step by step guide with pictures. It may help https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2022/05/18/how-use-the-arrivecan-app-your-alaska-cruise
  9. Just follow the steps, at the appropriate time you will be prompted to provide photos as described in @rudedoggy87's excellent post #43. I admire your persistence. You must really want this cruise ๐Ÿ˜ƒ.
  10. One used to be able to get pages added to a passport, is this no longer an option? Canadian citizens don't need a valid passport to enter Canada. They do have to be able to prove citizenship. However, if cruising to Canada don't expect a cruise line to distinguish requirements for Canadians from all other visitors.
  11. Yes, you can use Safari to complete the online version of ArriveCAN. In Safari go to the link I provided and select "Sign in to ArriveCAN online". I would not wait until you get to the pier. Do you not complete the online check-in for your cruise before arriving at the pier?
  12. Are one way rentals possible across an international border?
  13. If you go to that link you will see links to the Apple Store and Google Play. You can use one of those to download the app. It is also possible to use the online version using the browser on your phone.
  14. If you can use CC, ArriveCAN should be a snap. https://www.canada.ca/en/border-services-agency/services/arrivecan.html
  15. The Vancouver itinerary leaves Canada and then returns, i.e. it enters Canada. The Quebec itinerary leaves Canada and does not return, i.e. it does not enter Canada. ArriveCAN is required to enter Canada. One needs to make a submission sometime in the 72 hours prior to boarding your flight, train, car, or cruise. From https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/cruise Cruises that are staying in Canadian waters or not returning to Canada All travellers are required to take a pre-embarkation COVID-19 test before embarking on a cruise in Canada, even if the cruise ship is not leaving Canadian waters Travellers who are staying within Canada throughout their entire journey or who are leaving Canada and not returning donโ€™t have to complete ArriveCAN. One must provide a port of entry into Canada.
  16. The itinerary does not enter / visit Canada. The only way to make an ArriveCAN submission for this itinerary requires entering false data.
  17. After inserting the pictures double tap on the first to bring up an Image attributes form, at the bottom set Alignment to left. Repeat for the second, but set Alignment to right. Not perfect, but should be ok.
  18. Since ArriveCAN is not required for cruises leaving Canada the paragraph is correct. Misleading perhaps, but technically correct. It's not only government agencies that have confusing web pages ๐Ÿ˜€.
  19. The only way to complete an ArriveCAN submission for a cruise that does not enter Canada is to make a false statement.
  20. If the cruise is Vancouver round trip then you will have to complete an ArriveCAN submission sometime in the 72 hours prior to boarding. Only that one submission is required. If the cruise departs Vancouver and doesn't return to Canada, an ArriveCAN submission is not required.
  21. ArriveCAN must be submitted anytime within 72 hours prior to boarding a cruise that will enter Canada at some point. https://www.canada.ca/en/border-services-agency/services/arrivecan.html The process is straightforward just answer the question as presented, don't try to anticipate questions. If you want you can create a dummy entry. Just don't Submit the complete entry. Use an embarkation date within 72 hours to start. The system will retain passport and vaccination information for later reuse. The entry can be deleted or modified with valid data before submission.
