  1. Did you consider the consequences of not responding? What if all hands had perished? I can envisage the leads, "Cunard cruise ship let's two die!", "Cruise ship ignores SOS as sailing boat sinks!" ...
  2. A very persistent spy. The KGB hasn't existed officially for some 30 years. 🙂
  3. Use the search feature, magnifying glass right of the blue task bar at top. It can be a little tricky to use. You will want to enclose multi word terms like "inside passage" in quotes, otherwise any post with either word might get included in the results. You can also specify that all terms in you search criteria must be present. Otherwise a search for 'Viking "inner passage"' wil return all posts with the word Viking or the term "inner passage". An alternative is to use google. Preface a search with 'cruise critic:'.
  4. Facial recognition and in cases when a confirmation is needed thumb or finger print. Most of us use one or both to secure our phones, so the tech is well tested.
  5. Keep in mind when planning that all times are subject to change. It does occasionally happen that an all aboard time is altered a day or two before.
  6. My reference to not accepting Canadian postal codes was for online ordering a tag. Since I didn't have a tag I didn't bother checking on the registration process. Very glad to learn that that works with Canadian addresses. Safe travels.
  7. By mail billing has a surcharge of toll+30% + $2. Application for a tag can be found at https://www.e-zpassny.com/en/about/downloads.shtml. Online application doesn't accept Canadian postal codes. Buying a tag at a retail location looks to be easy, but the tag has to be activated which only occurs day after completing online registration. So buying the tag on the way to the toll route is not going to work. EZ-Pass can be used in 18 states including NY and NJ.
  8. Just part of providing the full Soviet experience. 🙂
  9. One of the contributing factors for the 72 hours window was that when first implemented travellers had to submit proof of a negative molecular (i.e. non antigen) COVID test administered within 72 hours. As the system evolved and requirements changed, test results were no longer needed and the system gained the ability to retain passport and vacation data. I suspect that another contributing factor is the volume that must be handled and the inevitable buildup of unused submissions if retained for more than 72 hours.
  10. The app and web versions are close to identical. You can use either. Don't overthink the process. Signup for an account and enter passport and vaccination data at your earliest convenience. The system will retain that data. Sometime in the 72 hours prior to departure/ boarding complete the trip info and make the submission. Trip entry is really very straightforward. Just fill in the data as presented. Don't make assumptions about when something should be provided, the app / web page will ask if and when necessary. No need to ask for it. The submission is tied to the passports and that info is transmitted by the cruise line. You only need a copy in case of some snafu.
  11. Upload your official proof of vaccination, I presume the PDF mentioned. While the booster may not matter today, if requirements change you won't have to update your file. The order you described is that of Canadian proofs of vaccination.
  12. There may be an issue with the proofs of vaccination uploaded. Did you upload the PDF that was downloaded from the Ontario Health site with the GOC logo?
  13. I see bullets and numbers. May be the browser or device. Edit: the quote has to be expanded to show them.
  14. If my spelling was better I'd disable my evil autocorrect. 🙂
  15. I would treat it as a round trip Vancouver cruise as there is no layover in Seward. So ArriveCAN before boarding in Vancouver. No. Yes. I believe the practice is for the cruise line to administer any required test.
  16. I believe only those flying into the US must present a COVID test result. Land and marine crossings do not require a COVID test. ArriveCAN info can be submitted anytime in the 72 hours prior to presenting at the land border.
  17. Cruising is not considered essential travel. It is considered non-essential (discretionary) travel. I don't think a reusable receipt can be used.
  18. No. I've concluded that rewards programs are not worth the bother.
  19. Gave up on Aeroplan many years ago when the fees on a points use actually exceeded the cost of a regular ticket on the same flight.
  20. You can report harassing posts by tapping / clicking on the ellipsis in the top right corner of the post. You can also add the poster to your ignore list.
  21. A simple letter from the parents may not be enough. See https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-family-legal-documents-do-i-need-to-board Also, despite the short duration it would be prudent to have written authorization to make medical decisions for the child.
